Tziporah Malkah reunites with estranged mother Pru Goward
Sometimes it takes a big life event to shock you into realising what’s truly important, and it seems that’s exactly what happened to Tziporah Malkah, formerly known as Kate Fischer.
The former model and ex-fiancée of James Packer has reunited with her estranged mother, politician Pru Goward, just days after she was fined $1,500 and had her license suspended for driving erratically.
“I am extremely grateful that I was inadvertently given the chance to see my family in Yass last week,” Tziporah captioned the photo on Facebook. “I told my mother that I could do gaol time for refusing to take the plea I’d been offered days earlier.
“As a result my poor mother stressed out and fainted a day or so later. I will not be going to gaol as per the magistrate’s ruling yesterday. I pray for the health of my mother and family at this time.”
Their reunion comes 10 months after Tziporah, who was a contestant on the most recent series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, opened up about her fractured relationship with Pru in an interview on The Project.
“It has always been quite a difficult relationship,” she said. “I respect my mother and I understand my mother... that she is not motherly.”
In an interview with Stellar magazine, Pru, who is the New South Wales Minister for Family and Community Services and Minister for Social Housing, made a brief comment on their estrangement: “We’ll see. We have quite a few years to go.”
And it looks like their reunion couldn’t come at a better time, with the Sydney Morning Herald reporting Tziporah “now lives on $100 a week”.
During court proceedings for her driving charge, her lawyer Michael Kuzilny said the 44-year-old was “very financially disadvantaged” after being embroiled in a Los Angeles real estate scam, in which she lost $2 million.
