Prince Louis turns 7, loses teeth, gains fans

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new video of their youngest son, Prince Louis, in celebration of his 7th birthday – and fans were quick to notice one majestic omission!

The young royal, known for upstaging grown adults with nothing but facial expressions and unfiltered energy, beamed into the camera with a grin so wide it could be measured in acres – revealing a spectacular dental vacancy.

Yes, Prince Louis is now officially a member of the exclusive “Missing Front Teeth Club”, joining generations of British children, Jack-o'-lanterns and occasionally stressed-out rugby players.

The video, taken behind the scenes of a photoshoot with photographer Josh Shinner, captures the birthday boy mid-adventure, clad in jeans, a jumper and brown boots – aka, "British Boy Chic". In a moment of cinematic glory, Louis approaches the camera like a pint-sized action hero, then flashes his now-iconic toothless grin.

But it wasn’t just his smile that had viewers grinning: it was his voice.

“I can jump down from there!” Louis proclaims, boldly sizing up a log that looked suspiciously like it had auditioned for a Bear Grylls special. He then executes the leap, presumably sticking the landing, though the palace has yet to confirm whether a royal stunt double was involved.

This rare vocal cameo marks only the second time the public has heard Prince Louis speak. The first was in 2020, when he interrogated naturalist Sir David Attenborough with a hard-hitting question: “What animal do you like?” (Attenborough's answer: monkeys – though many suspect he now ranks Louis higher.)

Royal fans rejoiced at the annual tradition of birthday content, with one commenting, “He’s growing up so fast — and shrinking his dental real estate just as quickly!”

The official photo was released with the caption: “Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday!” Though some believe it should have added, “...and a speedy return of those front teeth”.

At press time, Buckingham insiders declined to comment on whether the Tooth Fairy was knighted in a private ceremony earlier this week.

📽️🎞️ Seven today! pic.twitter.com/n3lNIXesCR

— The Prince and Princess of Wales (@KensingtonRoyal) April 23, 2025

Images: X (Formerly Twitter) / Josh Sinner

"Miss you so much": John Travolta's touching family tribute

Hollywood icon John Travolta has posted an emotional tribute to his late son, Jett, in honour of what would have been his 33rd birthday.

Travolta, 71, took to Instagram to share a touching throwback photo of Jett as a young child, accompanied by a simple but deeply moving caption: "Happy birthday Jett – I miss you so much! Love you forever!"

Jett, the eldest child of Travolta and his late wife, actress Kelly Preston, tragically passed away in 2009 while the family was on holiday in The Bahamas. He was just 16 years old. An autopsy later revealed that Jett had suffered a fatal seizure.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by John Travolta (@johntravolta)

The loss devastated the family, who described Jett as "the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for", in a statement at the time. "He lit up the lives of everyone he encountered," they added. "We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time that we had with him for the rest of our lives."

Jett had battled multiple health challenges throughout his life. In a 2012 interview on The Doctors, Preston revealed that her son had been autistic and had a history of seizures. She also shared that he had suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome as a young child, and that the couple believed environmental factors may have contributed to his health issues.

The family found hope again in 2010, when they welcomed their youngest child, Benjamin, 18 months after Jett's passing. Travolta and Preston also shared their daughter, Ella, now 25.

Preston herself faced her own private battle with illness, passing away in July 2020 at the age of 57 after a quiet fight with breast cancer.

In 2021, Travolta opened up about a heartbreaking conversation he had with Benjamin, who had expressed fear of losing his father after his mother’s passing. "Ben said to me once, 'Because mum passed away, I'm afraid you're going to,'" Travolta recalled during an appearance on Kevin Hart’s Hart to Heart.

Travolta gently explained life’s uncertainties to his young son. "Nobody knows when they're gonna go or when they're going to stay," he told Ben. "You just do your best at trying to live the longest you can."

Images: Instagram

"Devastated": Brisbane IVF recipient gives birth to another couple's baby

A woman has given birth to another couple’s child after a critical error at a Brisbane fertility clinic resulted in the wrong embryo being transferred during treatment.

Monash IVF, a leading fertility provider operating across Australia, has issued an apology following the distressing incident, which occurred at one of its clinics in Brisbane. The mistake came to light in February when the biological parents of the child requested their remaining embryos be transferred to a different IVF provider.

“Instead of finding the expected number of embryos, an additional embryo remained in storage for the birth parents,” Monash IVF revealed in a statement. An investigation confirmed that an embryo from another patient had been mistakenly thawed and implanted in the woman, resulting in her giving birth to a child who is genetically unrelated to her.

Monash IVF attributed the error to human mistake and said the affected parents were informed of the situation within a week of its discovery.

Michael Knaap, the chief executive of Monash IVF, expressed deep regret over the incident. “All of us at Monash IVF are devastated and we apologise to everyone involved,” he said. “We have undertaken additional audits and we’re confident that this is an isolated incident.”

To ensure accountability and transparency, the fertility provider has appointed Victorian Senior Counsel Fiona McLeod to conduct an independent investigation. Monash IVF has pledged to fully implement any recommendations arising from the review.

The case has also been reported to the Reproductive Technology Accreditation Committee, Queensland's assisted reproductive technology regulator.

This is not the first controversy faced by Monash IVF. In August last year, the group agreed to a $56 million settlement with more than 700 former patients after allegations it destroyed healthy embryos due to faulty genetic screening. A class action claimed that around 35 per cent of embryos classified as abnormal were, in fact, viable. Although Monash IVF settled the case through mediation, it did not admit to any wrongdoing.

Images: Today / Shutterstock

The Schumacher family has reason to celebrate, as Gina Schumacher, daughter of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher, has joyfully announced the birth of her first child.

Gina shared the heartwarming news over the weekend, revealing that her baby girl, Millie, arrived on March 29. "Welcome to the world, Millie," Gina wrote in a touching Instagram post. "Born on March 29th, our hearts are fuller than ever. We are beyond blessed to have you in our lives. #welcomeMillie."

The 28-year-old professional horse rider first revealed she was expecting back in December, with an adorable announcement featuring balloons next to a saddle and cowboy boots — a nod to her equestrian passion.

Since the announcement of Millie's arrival, Gina has been showered with love and congratulations from fans and figures across the F1 world. Max Verstappen’s mother, Sophie Kumpen, commented: “Congrats” with a heart emoji, while the official Mercedes F1 team account sent their well wishes in German: “Herzlichen Glückwunsch”.

Gina’s brother, Mick Schumacher, also expressed his pride, posting: “Proud of you” alongside a love heart emoji.

Gina and her husband, Iain Betkhe, tied the knot in a private ceremony in September last year. The couple, both horse enthusiasts, have been together for nearly seven years before exchanging vows. Their intimate wedding was carefully kept out of the public eye, with strict privacy measures in place to ensure a special day away from media attention.

While fans continue to keep Michael Schumacher in their thoughts – the seven-time F1 champion has been out of the public eye since a skiing accident in 2013 – this joyful addition to the family brings a welcome moment of happiness and hope.

As the Schumacher family embraces this new chapter, well-wishers from around the globe are sharing in their joy. Welcome to the world, baby Millie!

Images: Instagram

66-year-old woman reveals why she just gave birth to her 10th child

In a remarkable turn of events, 66-year-old Alexandra Hildebrandt gave birth to her 10th child, a healthy baby boy named Philipp, on March 19 at Charité Hospital in Berlin. The birth, carried out via cesarean section, saw Philipp weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces.

Hildebrandt, a well-known human rights activist and the director of Berlin’s Checkpoint Charlie Museum, insists that she conceived naturally, without the aid of fertility drugs, and faced no difficulties during the process.

Baby Philipp joins an already large and diverse family, including siblings Svitlana (46), Artiom (36), Elisabeth (12), Maximilian (12), Alexandra (10), Leopold (8), Anna (7), Maria (4), and Katharina (2). Remarkably, eight of these children were born after Hildebrandt turned 53, all during her second marriage to former CDU politician Daniel Dormann.

For Hildebrandt, having a big family is both fulfilling and fundamental. “A big family is not only something wonderful, but above all, it is important for raising children properly,” she told The Today Show. Despite her age, she has received only positive feedback from friends and family regarding her pregnancy and childbirth.

Dr Wolfgang Henrich, Hildebrandt’s OB/GYN, described her pregnancy as “largely uncomplicated”. However, medical experts caution that pregnancies at such an advanced age come with significant risks. Dr Brian Levine, a fertility specialist based in New York City, notes that the biological likelihood of a woman conceiving naturally at 66 is extremely low. Additionally, the risks of hypertension, gestational diabetes, preterm labor and chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome rise significantly with age.

Hildebrandt is not alone in making headlines for late-life motherhood. In 2023, 70-year-old Safina Namukwaya from Uganda gave birth to twins via in vitro fertilisation using donor eggs and her husband’s sperm. Despite concerns about her age, Namukwaya expressed joy at her newfound motherhood, saying that age should not be a barrier to having children.

As for Hildebrandt, she credits her lifestyle for her ability to conceive and carry a child at her age. “I eat very healthily, swim regularly for an hour, walk for two hours,” she shared in an interview with Bild. Beckham's 50th birthday bashes have begun!

David Beckham has kicked off his 50th birthday celebrations in grand style, hosting a star-studded black-tie affair at Miami's Cipriani Downtown. While his official birthday isn't actually until May 2, the football legend decided to start the festivities early, surrounded by family, friends and an incredible lineup of sports icons.

The guest list read like a who's who of the sports world. Inter Miami stars Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets were in attendance, alongside NFL quarterback Tom Brady and NBA giant Shaquille O'Neal. Beckham hilariously noted his height difference in a photo with Brady and O'Neal, captioning it, "I’m so small". The legendary footballer certainly wasn’t short on love and admiration, as guests toasted to his remarkable career and journey to 50.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by David Beckham (@davidbeckham)

Family was at the heart of the celebration. Kirsty, who retired from football in 2018, gave birth to Harley in 2020. Gorry, affectionately known as "Mini", welcomed her daughter Harper in 2021, and last year, her partner Clara Markstedt gave birth to their son, Koby.

The baby boom continues among the Matildas, with captain Sam Kerr and her fiancée Kristie Mewis also preparing to welcome their first child in May. Mewis, 34, has temporarily stepped away from her career with West Ham and the US national team to carry their baby boy.

While celebrations are in full swing, the Matildas also face a minor setback as Gorry has been ruled out of the upcoming matches against South Korea due to an ankle injury sustained while playing for West Ham on Sunday. The extent of the injury remains unclear, but she is already undergoing rehabilitation.

Stepping in for Gorry is Melbourne City’s Leah Davidson, who has earned her second call-up to the national squad.

With growing families and exciting matches ahead, the Matildas continue to show that they are not only champions on the field but also in life. Congratulations to the Yallop family on their wonderful news!

Images: Instagram

Police investigating after pet cavoodle held for ransom

A Sydney family are in shock after being forced to pay a ransom for the return of their beloved cavoodle, Benji, after he was snatched from the street and held for cash in an appalling case of dognapping.

Benji, a 10-year-old cavoodle, escaped from his home on Flinders Crescent in Hinchinbrook around 45 minutes west of hte CBD when a tradesman accidentally left a gate open. His desperate owner, Paulina Tran, searched tirelessly, knocking on doors in her neighbourhood and posting urgent appeals on social media.

“Our whole family is quite distraught,” Tran told 7NEWS. “My kids have been crying non-stop because we’ve had this dog for 10 years.”

A breakthrough came when a neighbour provided CCTV footage showing a man in a dark blue T-shirt and light blue shorts taking Benji off the street several hundred metres from Tran’s home. “He was very distraught. You can hear him on the footage crying,” Tran said of Benji.

Another neighbour, who was working from home, witnessed the incident and recalled the man whistling to Benji – a suspicious action since owners typically call their dogs by name. As the community rallied, more people came forward with information, eventually helping identify the man caught on CCTV.

Determined to bring Benji home, Tran and her husband confronted the man at his residence, only to be met with a ransom demand.

“We approached him and he refused to give us our dog back, saying that we needed to give him money,” Tran recounted. The situation then escalated when the man became aggressive and issued a disturbing threat: “I will skin your dog alive” if they refused to pay.

Fearful for Benji’s safety, Tran and her husband reluctantly agreed to hand over a small sum. The man took the money before retrieving Benji, who was returned with a rope tightly secured around his neck.

Despite their ordeal, Tran and her husband chose not to take further action after seeing children at the man’s home.

“It doesn’t take two bad people to make things right. Just because someone’s bad doesn’t mean you have to be bad to them,” Tran said.

In response to inquiries by 7NEWS, NSW Police have confirmed they will be investigating the incident.

Images: Facebook / 7NEWS

Bruce Willis' daughter shares touching message on his 70 birthday

Bruce Willis, the beloved Hollywood icon known for his legendary roles in Die Hard and Pulp Fiction, is celebrating his 70th birthday! Despite his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia, Willis’s family remains steadfast in their love and support, ensuring that this milestone is filled with warmth and joy.

His eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, took to Instagram ahead of the celebration, encouraging fans to send birthday wishes to her father. “He’s doing great, thank you for asking,” she shared during a Q&A session. “It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow, so please wish my papa a big happy birthday.”

The House Bunny actress has previously spoken about her father’s health, speaking on Loose Women earlier this year, when she expressed her gratitude for their strong familial ties. “Because my family, we’re all so close, I think what’s so beautiful is the way that we rally around each other. (It’s) so lovely because we really are a unit.”

Willis’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, has also been open about the struggles their family has faced since his diagnosis. In a heartfelt interview, she revealed that Bruce’s stuttering – something he had battled since childhood – was initially dismissed as a minor speech impediment rather than a symptom of dementia.

“Bruce has always had a stutter, but he has been good at covering it up,” Emma explained. “So, when he began to experience difficulties with language, it seemed like it was just a part of his stutter. Never in a million years would I think it would be a form of dementia for someone so young.”

As fans around the world send their love and best wishes for Bruce’s 70th birthday, one thing remains clear: Willis’ legacy extends far beyond the silver screen.

Images: Instagram

"Outrage should not be selective": Wombat snatcher speaks out

After Sam Jones, the US tourist and influencer with a penchant for questionable decision-making, managed to unite Australians in collective outrage by snatching up a baby wombat and posting it to Instagram, she has since fled the country and is now broadcasting her redemption arc from an undisclosed overseas location.

“I will learn from this moment, and move forward. I accept accountability for my own actions, yet refuse to be used as a scapegoat for a far greater, far more uncomfortable reality,” she said in a video statement.

And to be honest, she may have a point. While Australians were busy sharpening their pitchforks, Jones decided to flip the script. But instead of doubling down on her wombat-related blunder, she’s turning the outrage into a broader conversation about Australia’s wildlife management.

“If this situation has proven anything, it’s that Australians care deeply about their wildlife – and that is something I intensely admire,” she said, presumably while updating her LinkedIn profile to include “Wombat Awareness Advocate”.

Jones highlighted that in 2023 alone, over 1.2 million native animals were legally culled in Australia, including 3,558 wombats, 580,695 native birds, and 419,120 kangaroos and wallabies. Suddenly, her temporary wombat custody battle seems downright insignificant.

And she’s not wrong - Australia’s track record with wildlife is complicated. We have a long history of government-sanctioned animal culls, from the infamous emu war (which the emus won, by the way) to the more recent permits allowing landowners to eliminate endangered species deemed inconvenient. Five years ago, a South Australian landholder was granted permission to kill 200 rare hairy-nosed wombats before having a change of heart. Meanwhile, New South Wales’ most crucial population of koalas is being displaced by development, and even Tasmania’s black swans aren’t safe from culling laws.

“Consider applying the same momentum used to condemn me toward examining the laws that allow for the legal slaughter of the very species and wombats people so deeply wish to protect,” Jones urged. “Outrage should not be selective.”

Again, she has a point. Outrage shouldn’t be selective – though, ideally, neither should common sense. So while Sam Jones may have momentarily confused a wombat for a TikTok prop, she’s also inadvertently shone a light on a bigger issue. Whether we are willing to pivot our anger from one rogue tourist to an entire government policy, however, remains to be seen.

One thing is certain: that baby wombat will grow up with an incredible story to tell.

Images: Instagram

Yes, it’s a terrible idea to pick up or interfere with wild animals – especially baby wombats. Here’s why

It was hard to watch. In a now-deleted Instagram reel, American influencer Sam Jones is filmed picking up a young wombat, separating it from its mother, and running with it back to the car for a pose. In the background, the distressed mother tries to follow. At one point, Jones says: “Momma’s right there and she’s pissed. Let’s let him go.”

We have spent our careers working with wildlife. Seeing a joey separated from her mother for social media content was unsettling. The encounter will have made stress levels soar for the baby and mother.

Unfortunately, we are seeing a rise in people directly interacting with wildlife through feeding them or taking risks to get close to them, often driven by the pursuit of social media attention. These interactions can hurt wildlife in many different ways.

While there’s a natural tendency to want to connect with wildlife, wild animals often see humans as a threat. When we get too close, we can trigger fear responses such as increased heart rates and heightened stress hormones. Indeed, the consequences of interfering with wildlife can be far-reaching.

Jones was lucky not to have been injured – wombats weigh up to 40 kilograms and have teeth and claws they can use for defence. She could still come down with scabies – wombats often have mange, caused by the parasitic mite which gives us scabies.

Others have been less lucky. People feeding dingoes on K'Gari has brought these wild canines closer to people, leading to attacks. In response, authorities have occasionally opted to kill dingoes.

Official approvals are required to capture and handle wildlife. Engaging in these activities without the necessary permits is typically illegal. These regulations are to safeguard wildlife from harm and protect humans as well.

Instagram clip shows US influencer Sam Jones picking up a baby wombat.

What was wrong with the influencer’s behaviour?

What many people found difficult to see in the clip was the clear distress seen in both joey and mother.

Wombat joeys are fully dependent on their mothers for between 18 months and two years – one of the longest periods for any marsupial. Interfering with this bond stresses both animals.

The incident also took place on a road, increasing their risk of being hit by a vehicle – one of the biggest threats to wombats.

Wildlife are exactly that – wild life. When we interact with wild creatures, we interrupt what they are doing. This can harm the individual – and often, the group – by inducing physical or psychological stress, and changes in behaviour.

We want to connect – but it’s bad for the animals

Many of us draw a mental line between our pets and wild animals. Our cats and dogs jump up for a pat and seek our affection. Wouldn’t wild creatures enjoy the same thing?

It took thousands of years to domesticate dogs, cats and other animals. Wild animals, on the other hand, perceive us very differently – often as a potential threat.

When we feed wildlife food they are not used to, it can make them sick, or contribute to long term metabolic issues.

Visitors often feed chips to quokkas on Rottnest Island, but these salty snacks can sicken the animals, which should be eating grasses, stems and leaves.

Tourists flock to areas with wild kangaroos and often offer them food. But as they become used to our presence, they can still lash out. People have been injured, some badly.

Touching animals comes with risks, from being scratched by koalas to being bitten by snakes. When a US wildlife expert was filmed touching a huge great white shark off Hawaii, dozens of people tried to follow suit – despite the risks.

Then there’s the disease risk. Wombats suffer from sarcoptic mange, while other marsupials may have toxoplasmosis, which can trigger miscarriages and neurological issues. Handling wild birds can give us the dangerous disease psittacosis.

If you don’t have a permit, you should stay at a safe distance and watch the animal. The goal is to avoid interfering, and respect the animal’s autonomy and what it’s trying to do, whether that’s finding food, finding a mate, sleeping, or just lounging about.

Are more people trying to interact with animals?

After the COVID pandemic, many of us have been seeking outdoor experiences. Camping is on the rise, as is ecotourism.

At the same time, some influencers are trying to interact with wildlife, perhaps mimicking famous figures such as the late Steve Irwin. Irwin’s father, Bob, recently called for harsher penalties for influencers entering crocodile territory after many close calls.

Watching trained wildlife handlers can give us false confidence. We might think: if they do it, why can’t I?

The problem is, wildlife handling is risky. Bites are common, even for trained experts. When we undertake wildlife research, we use gloves, cages, hoods and so on to reduce the risk to us and the stress to the animal.

Wildlife carers who take on the role of rearing wombat joeys have to be well trained – and dedicated. Joeys need to be fed special milk suited to marsupials – cow’s milk is no good. They have to be fed round the clock in the early months.

In many cases we are aware of, untrained individuals have attempted to rescue wombats or kangaroo joeys only to discover they can’t meet their specific care needs. Unfortunately, this often results in the joeys being abandoned or handed over to wildlife carers in poor condition.

This doesn’t mean that interactions with animals are off-limits. Zoos and wildlife sanctuaries provide opportunities to handle captive animals under expert supervision. Volunteering with wildlife carers or training to become a carer are viable ways to engage with animals responsibly.

Influencers don’t have to grab an animal from the wild to show how amazing it is. You can show natural behaviour by following an animal from a safe distance or use existing footage.

If you can’t captivate an audience with the wonders of wildlife without harassing a wild animal, then perhaps it’s time to rethink and refine your social media strategy.

When we are out in the bush, it’s natural to be fascinated by the presence of wild creatures. But we must find ways of building our connection with nature without harming what we see – and without risking harm to ourselves.<!-- Below is The Conversation's page counter tag. Three's a charm: Olympic champ shares baby news!

Australian Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers and his Norwegian swimmer fiancée Ingeborg Loyning have shared joyous news: they are expecting their first child. The couple, who have been together since 2022, celebrated their engagement ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics, and now they are preparing to welcome a baby girl later this year.

The announcement was made with heartfelt social media posts featuring ultrasound photos, matching 'mum' and 'dad' hats, and an adorable gender reveal. “We can’t wait to welcome our little Norwegian princess into the world later this year,” they wrote.

The swimming community erupted with excitement over the news. Australian great Grant Hackett congratulated the couple, while Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus and fellow swimmer Shayna Jack expressed their happiness with enthusiastic messages. Isaac Cooper, British star Adam Peaty, and Dutch Olympic gold medallist Ranomi Kromowidjojo also sent their best wishes, with Kromowidjojo joking about a baby boom in the swimming world. She recently became a mother herself, while Italian legend Federica Pellegrini welcomed a child last year, and Swedish champion Sarah Sjostrom is currently pregnant.

"This might gonna be a sick Olympic final some day," Kromowidjojo quipped, prompting World Aquatics to respond, "We can’t wait for 2044 then."

Loyning, who competed for Norway at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, holds several national backstroke records and secured four titles at last year’s Norwegian national championships. Since moving to Adelaide to be with Chalmers, she has also become involved in his swimming academy.

Chalmers, 26, cemented his Olympic legacy with a third straight medal in the 100m freestyle at Paris 2024, having won gold in Rio 2016. He also added silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4x100m mixed medley, bringing his total Olympic medal count to nine.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Ingeborg Løyning (@ingeborgvloyning)

As the couple embarks on this new chapter, they have received an outpouring of support from the global swimming fraternity. "Love you": John Farnham spotted in rare public appearance for milestone occasion

Music legend John Farnham has marked a joyful occasion as he joined family and friends to celebrate his wife Jillian’s 70th birthday in Melbourne. The intimate gathering took place on Tuesday evening at the renowned Italian restaurant, Florentino, where love, laughter and music filled the air.

Seated beside his beloved wife of 51 years, Farnham radiated happiness, enjoying the company of his closest loved ones. The evening was made even more special with heartfelt live performances and a touching photo montage that honoured Jillian’s life and the couple’s enduring love story.

Adding a moment of lighthearted humour, accordion maestro Hans managed to elicit a grin from Farnham when he jokingly offered to play one of the singer’s iconic hits. Their son, Robert, captured the essence of the night with a heartfelt social media post, sharing a picture from the evening and the simple yet touching words: “Happy birthday 70th to mum, Love you.”

This joyous occasion comes as Farnham, 75, continues to embrace life after receiving the “all clear” in his well-publicised battle with cancer. Having undergone a major surgery in August 2022 to remove a tumour from his mouth and reconstruct his jaw, the legendary performer has shown incredible resilience. His son James shared an update earlier this year, reassuring fans that his father was “doing really well, walking around, kicking goals... and, of course, annoying mum.”

Jillian, whose unwavering support played a crucial role in Farnham’s health journey, previously recounted in her memoir, The Voice Inside, how she urged him to seek medical advice before his diagnosis. “He had a big white mass on the inside of his cheek, and you could physically see it,” she wrote. “For several months I was saying to him, ‘Let’s go see about that thing in your mouth,’ and he’d say, ‘No, it’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright.’” Eventually, her persistence led him to seek medical attention, ultimately saving his life.

Adding to the excitement in the Farnham household, the family is eagerly anticipating a new arrival. James and his partner, Tessa, are expecting a baby boy, a new chapter that fills them all with joy. James, thrilled at the prospect of fatherhood, said: “We’re all really excited, another little Farnham on the way. I can’t wait to take him up to the farm and get Dad to teach him everything he taught me.”

For Farnham, whose music has been the soundtrack of Australian life for decades, family remains his greatest treasure.

Image: Instagram
