Mulled wine

Warm up on cool nights this winter with this delicious and super easy, fruity mulled wine recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ cup of caster sugar
  • 10 cloves
  • 1 nutmeg, roughly grated
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 orange rind, roughly grated
  • 1 apple, chopped with skin on
  • 750ml of a fruity red wine

Method:

  1. In a large saucepan on medium heat, heat orange rind, apple, water, nutmeg, sugar, cloves and cinnamon together.
  2. Once brought to a boil, reduce heat and allow to simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  3. Add fruity red wine and allow to simmer for five minutes more.
  4. Strain and pour into glasses. Serve hot.
