Grant Denyer's cheeky response to 2Day FM axing

Grant Denyer has spoken out following the axing of his 2Day FM breakfast show on Thursday.
Denyer took to Instagram hours after it was announced that Grant, Ed & Ash will have their final episode on Friday.
The show has been on air for 18 months.
“Well that was bloody fun!” Denyer wrote. “It’s nice to join an elite group of people who have been sacked from radio.
“Tried my hardest, did my best and overshared more than I should have.
“Thank mostly to Ed & Ash for the many laughs and countless OMG moments. Hell of a blast. I’ve learned a lot!”
Gemma Fordham, head of the Hit Network announced the news on Thursday that the trio will be replaced with an all-music program in the morning slot.
“A huge thank you must go to our breakfast show team, Grant, Ed & Ash, for the past 18 months – they are absolute professionals, have been a true delight to work with and have contributed to a culture of fun, community and inclusiveness we are proud of at 2Day,” said Fordham.
Fordham confirmed that the outgoing hosts will stay in the network, with Ash London continuing to host Ash London Live, Ed Kavalee filling in for Kate Langbroek on Hughesy & Kate, and Denyer “making appearances around the Network”.
In the most recent ratings figures, the market share of 2Day FM’s breakfast show stalled at 3.1 per cent, well below KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O at 10.9 per cent.
Kyle Sandilands, host of Kyle and Jackie O who left 2Day FM with Jackie O Henderson in 2013, responded to the Grant, Ed & Ash axing with a post on Twitter: “Another one bites the dust.”
