Duchess Kate wears Diana’s favourite tiara for the first time

Kate Middleton may have never had the chance to meet her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, but parallels between the two royals have been drawn ever since she joined the royal family. This week, Kate payed homage to Princess Di via a fashion choice: she borrowed Diana’s most loved tiara.
The Duchess was photographed en route to a diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace wearing none other than the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara. The headpiece glistened with hundreds of diamonds and teardrop-shaped pearls. Yes, just another day in the life of a princess-to-be.
The special tiara was commissioned by Queen Elizabeth II’s grandmother, and was passed down to Diana by the Prince of Wales. Princess Diana was the last to wear the famous headpiece, before her death.
