The Over60 Catch-ups not to miss in June

Looking to meet new people and make new friends? Here we’ve rounded up the best Over60 Catch-up events across Australia in the upcoming weeks.

1. The Tuggeranong Heart Foundation Walking group

When: 15 June, 2016 10:30AM - 11:15AM

Where: Meet in front of Pacific Smiles at Tuggeranong Hyperdome, Tuggeranong, ACT

What: Take the first steps to increasing your physical activity. This Heart Foundation Walking group meets every Wednesday for a walk and a chat from 10.30am until 11.15am. Organisers Wendy and Paul will be there for a walk and talk.

2. “Country music with a kick” free concert   

When: 19 June, 2016 1:30PM - 5:00PM

Where: Balgowlah RSL, 34 Ethel Street, Seaforth, NSW

What: The Northern Beaches Country Music Club presents a great afternoon of country entertainment with some fabulous artists. Bryen Willems & The Bayou Boogie Boys, along with special guest artist Aimee Hannan Bryen Willems, will be playing a mix of originals and covers, drawing from the best country, blues, swamp and southern rock from the last 50 years. Although the event is free, a gold coin donation is appreciated as all funds go towards cancer research.

3. Over60 Catch-up in Canberra

When: 19 June 12:30PM - 1:00PM

Where: Pialligo Estate, 18 Kallaroo Rd, Pialligo, ACT

What: This group of ladies first met on Over60 Catch-ups and the meetings have since expanded to regular fortnightly catch-ups around Canberra. Anybody is welcome and although no men have joined yet, they remain hopeful that a bloke will drop by for a cuppa and chat. If you’re looking to meet fellow over60s, chat with likeminded people and enjoy a cuppa, please click here for more details and to RSVP.

4. Over60 Catch-up in Perth

When: 25 June, 2016 11:00AM - 12:00PM

Where: Dome Cafe, Trinity Arcade, St Georges Terrace, Perth

What: Do you live in Perth? Are you looking to meet new people? Over60 community member and organiser Katy says she’s looking “to meet people from all walks of life. Single divorced or married we all need a shoulder to cry on or listen to so let's meet.”

5. Bushwalking and breakfast group for over50s

When: 25 June, 2016 8:00AM - 12:00PM

Where: Lackey Street side, Lake Parramatta Reserve, North Parramatta, NSW

What: Get physical and meet some new people at the same time with this bushwalking and breakfast group for over50s. The group meets outside Lake Parramatta Café at 8am sharp, where they walk the Lake Parramatta circuit walk. The walk is 4.2kilometre but is relatively easy.

If you prefer not to do the walk, the group then meets at the coffee shop for a cuppa and breakfast.
