Gogglebox star’s heart-breaking loss

<p dir="ltr">Angie Kent is in mourning after her close friend Tommy passed away at the age of 42.</p> <p dir="ltr">The former <em>Gogglebox </em>star, 33, posted a series of photos of her late friend, explaining that she had taken a step back from social media after hearing about his death.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Goodbye for now, not forever my prince. I forgot to add Tommy with the main loves of his life,” she wrote, alongside a photo of Tommy with her dogs.</p> <p dir="ltr">“All our rescue dogs over the years. I think it's important to take time and stay present.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Tommy and Angie lived together in Sydney for three years, with fellow <em>Gogglebox </em>star Yvie Jones.</p> <p dir="ltr">Tom had Down Syndrome and diabetes that required full-time care, which is where Angie previously stepped in.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I'm there to help him with his diabetes to get him up in the morning and to help him have a healthy routine,” Angie told <em>The Project</em> in 2019.</p> <p dir="ltr">The TV star said it was always a pleasure living with Tommy, as he always made her laugh and was the perfect housemate.</p> <p dir="ltr">Tommy’s mother Rachel praised Angie, who also appeared on <em>The Bachelorette</em> in 2019, who helped to make her son’s life easier and enabled him to live outside a dedicated group care home.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She's not just<em> The Bachelorette</em>, she's a very caring responsible young woman, she's very skilled at being a supportive person and a good friend,” she said.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image credits: Instagram</em></p> <p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 5px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; vertical-align: baseline; outline: none !important;"> </p>

Angie Asimus’s new joy as she becomes a mother of two

<p>Angie Asimus, best known to Australians for her work as a reporter for Channel 7, has welcomed her second child on the very first day of her maternity leave. </p> <p>The news was shared on behalf of Angie and her husband, Chris Abbott, by Angie's 7News co-star Edwina Bartholomew.</p> <p>“Some very exciting baby news,” Edwina told viewers, “our very own Angie Asimus has welcomed her baby girl.”</p> <p>In the announcement, Edwina shared the name that Angie and Chris had chosen for their new bundle of joy - Scarlett. </p> <p>“She was born late last night, weighing in at 3.27 kilos,” Edwina went on, “Wednesday was supposed to be mum's last day of work, so poor Angie on her first day of maternity leave - no rest there.”</p> <p>Edwina shared with viewers that Angie’s two-year-old son and Scarlett’s big sister was unaware that he had a sister, but that he was “on the way to meet her.” </p> <p>She also confirmed that Angie and her baby were in a good place after their big and exciting day, “Mum and bub are both healthy and happy and doing very very well.”</p> <p>On Monday, Angie posted to Instagram to announce her “last 6pm read of the summer. A fitting choice, given how soon afterwards baby Scarlett came into the world. </p> <p>Angie confirmed the news of Scarlett’s birth with another post to her Instagram, this time sharing a video from 7News to her feed. </p> <p>“What was supposed to be my last day at work ended up being a little more labour intensive than expected!” Angie captioned the clip, “a big thank you to my @7newssyd family for all the support and sorry about the flowers! We are feeling so very lucky to have welcomed our baby girl into the world.”</p> <p>Friends and supporters flooded her comments section with well wishes and congratulations, with more than a few well known Australian faces joining in. </p> <p>“Breaking News! “Extremely restrictive”: Why fan favourite Yvie Jones left Gogglebox

<p>Yvie Jones and Angie Kent shocked fans when they announced that they would no longer be continuing their placement in the hit TV show <em>Gogglebox.</em></p> <p>After six series of the show, the duo were ready to call it quits due to the restrictive rules around the program, which airs on Foxtel and Channel 10.</p> <p>Jones explained to <em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.heraldsun.com.au/lifestyle/why-fan-favourite-yvie-jones-left-gogglebox/news-story/aeb166bb560677ccfee9d9d059dbb285" target="_blank">The Herald Sun</a></em> about her decision to leave.  </p> <p>“We couldn’t endorse anything, we couldn’t tag anyone (on social media), there were no affiliations,” Jones says.</p> <p>“I respect that but cover us financially.</p> <p>Jones also shed some light as to how the other cast members get paid.</p> <p>“There’s no appearance fee for being on the show, they don’t pay you — you get a location fee. Your house gets the fee. We were losing money.</p> <p>“We were getting offers we weren’t able to take. It was extremely restrictive. TV is great as well, but radio is a little more forgiving. It doesn’t make you have body dysmorphia. Seeing yourself done up for TV, you start thinking, ‘Oh, this is how I look all the time’, and it’s not.”</p> <p>Jones still can’t believe she’s on breakfast radio.</p> <p>“I still pinch myself every day — am I that interesting? Do people really want to know that? Because if you want to know, I’ll tell you.</p> <p>“I’ve had a million jobs. By the time I started working behind the scenes in TV, people told me constantly I was on the wrong side of the camera. And I’d be like, ‘Yeah, well, it’s too late now. I’m old.’</p> <p>“For 20 years I was an out-of-work actor and singer who never made it. If I’d known I just had to be myself to make it and be so validated, I would’ve done it 20 years ago. But everything happens when it’s supposed to,” Jones explained.</p> <p>“I used to be playing other characters, but instead (during <em>Gogglebox</em>) I’ve been honing myself, getting a lot of therapy, dealing with a lot of personal issues that have helped me become this vulnerable person that happens to be extremely loved.”</p>

Katherine Kelly Lang and Richard Reid reveal what Ellen is really like: "She's not that nice"

<p>Two teammates on the Australian reality TV series <em>I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here</em> shared a surprising revelation in the jungle on Wednesday night.</p> <p>The episode featured some revealing comments from the <em>Bold And The Beautiful</em> star, Katherine Kelly Lang and notorious entertainment reporter Richard Reid while they discussed who they thought the worst celebrity to work with was.</p> <p>The conversation started with <em>Gogglebox Australia</em>'s Angie Kent asking Reid who else was a “moll” in Hollywood.</p> <p>“Ellen, not nice,” the reporter replied.</p> <p>“Ellen who?” <em>Bold And The Beautiful </em>star Lang asked to which Reid responded: “DeGeneres.”</p> <p>Lang was not surprised by this claim, admitting she had “heard that before” about the US talk show host.</p> <p>“She’s great to watch and on her show and everything, but I think her personality is completely different when you get her behind the scenes,” Lang said.</p> <p>“I heard it’s hard to work on her show,” Reid claimed.</p> <p>“Oh, because she’s bossy or something?” the American actress asked, which Reid nodded in agreement.</p> <p>Kent failed to hide her shock, saying it was “really disappointing” to find out cult favourite DeGeneres had a bad reputation.</p> <p>This is not the first time rumours have swirled around working with DeGeneres. Over the years the TV personality has had to clarify allegations of being a questionable character to work with off-camera.</p> <p>“That bugs me if someone is saying that because it’s an outright lie,” DeGeneres said, disarming all the rumours in an <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/arts/television/ellen-degeneres.html">interview with the <em>New York Times</em>.</a></p> <p>“The first day I said: ‘The one thing I want is everyone here to be happy and proud of where they work, and if not, don’t work here.’"</p> <p>The talk-show star added about her workplace conditions, “No one is going to raise their voice or not be grateful. That’s the rule to this day.”</p>
