This star almost got the role of Elaine on Seinfeld
<p><span>Jerry Seinfeld has revealed that another actress almost landed the role of Elaine Benes on the hit show </span><em><span>Seinfeld.</span></em></p>
<p><span>“You know who was close was Megan Mullally,” the American comedian told Howard Stern after he was asked which other actresses were considered for the part.</span></p>
<p><span>Megan is most recognised for her role as Karen Walker on </span><em><span>Will & Grace</span></em><span>.</span></p>

<p><span>She has won two Emmy Awards for her performance as Karen.</span></p>
<p><span>Jerry revealed that actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell was also in the running for the role.</span></p>
<p><span>However, Jerry knew Julia Louis-Dreyfus was meant to play Elaine as soon as she auditioned, and she starred as the character for eight years.</span></p>
<p><span>Recently, Jerry was asked if </span><em><span>Seinfeld </span></em><span>would follow in the path of other sitcoms and do a comeback.</span></p>
<p><span>Jerry replied, “Why? Maybe it's nice that you continue to love it instead of us tampering with something that went pretty well.”</span></p>
