Joyous news as injured policewoman walks again after huge fundraiser

The reason? She had been enjoying a night out and had a few drinks on the ill-fated evening. Undeterred by this setback, Ella's family launched a fundraiser to bridge the financial gap, and the response was <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/positive-news-for-injured-wa-police-officer-in-croatia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nothing short of extraordinary</a>.</p> <p>The community rallied together, pouring in close to $530,000 in donations from across the country. Smiling, talking and walking with the aid of crutches and braces, she left rehabilitation at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Murdoch, just south of Perth. The joy in her eyes and the gratitude in her words were palpable as she expressed her thanks to the thousands who contributed to her recovery.</p> <p>"Thank you so much for bringing me home. Your kindness is overwhelming," Ella said, her words echoing the sentiments of a grateful heart.</p> <p>Ella, accompanied by her family, recently met with WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch, displaying an unwavering determination to return to the job she loves. Positive news for injured WA police officer in Croatia

<p>A fundraiser set up for a WA police officer who was injured in an<a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/police-officer-in-critical-condition-after-terrifying-cliff-fall" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> unfortunate cliff fall </a>reached its $500,000 target. </p> <p>Ella Cutler was left fighting for her life after falling off a cliff top while on vacation in Croatia, and her loved ones set up a GoFundMe to help pay for her medical bills and bring her home via air ambulance. </p> <p>Now, Ella is out of the ICU with horrific injuries to her body, including her head and spine.</p> <p>Her friends and family members have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from strangers who donated, and said that Ella still has a "long road" to recovery, with many surgeries to go. </p> <p>"There's been people that have donated, which is just so heartwarming to see Ella's story has really touched them," friend and fellow police officer Constable Dani Morrison said. </p> <p>"They've never met her and they still donated."</p> <p>Ella will undergo another surgery next week before she can fly home to Perth. </p> <p>Ella, and a 34-year-old Australian man were both injured after they fell 10 metres from a cliff near Fort Lovrijenac, in the Dubrovnik suburb of Piles on August 26.</p> <p>Her family have asked for donations after revealing that Ella's travel insurance denied her claim. </p> <p>As of today, the <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/please-help-us-bring-ella-home#xd_co_f=NDIzY2U3YjUtNTQ2Yi00MjhjLWEwNTMtNGNhZTMyZmNiMzc0~" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GoFundMe</a> has raised $517,125. </p> <p><em>Image: WA Police</em></p>

Gluten-free bride roasted over wedding day menu

<p>A gluten and dairy-free bride has copped a roasting online for sharing what she ate on her special day.</p> <p>According to the <em>New York Post</em>, Sam Cutler, the creator of The Fit Fatale community, revealed everything she consumed on her wedding day in a video on TikTok, including green protein smoothies, salmon and vegetables and gluten, dairy, and sugar-free chocolate wedding cake.</p> <p>Cutler and her husband welcomed guests to enjoy a taco bar during the reception, as well as a rosé that, she emphasised, has a low sugar content.</p> <p>Her video quickly went viral, attracting over four million views on TikTok and more than 3,000 likes on Instagram.</p> <p>Cutler began her fitness and wellness journey about four years ago, she wrote on her website, after she suffered “a severe concussion and brain trauma from a fitness accident”.</p> <p>As she focused on her own health and wellness, she started sharing tips to encourage others to “find balance daily through a healthy lifestyle and stillness”.</p> <p>The content creator described herself as a “health-focused bride”, but numerous viewers felt she’d gone too far.</p> <p>“Your wedding day is supposed to be enjoyable,” one commented on the clip.</p> <p>“Bro ONE DAY IS OKAY,” another stressed.</p> <p>Others dubbed Cutler’s wedding “sad” and “insane”.</p> <p>“Can you imagine going to a wedding and on the tables are anti-bloating gummies?! <p>John Travolta's daughter Ella has surprised her online followers with a rare look into her secret talent. </p> <p>Ella Travolta, 21, shared a video of her playing an original song on the piano as she sang along to the melody. </p> <p>Ella said she has been working on the the song for a while and felt "nervous" to share it with her followers. </p> <p>She captioned the video, "There is something I've been working on for the past year that is very dear to my heart."</p> <p><span>"I wanted to share a part of a song that I wrote that will be on my EP coming out next year. John Travolta recalls heartbreaking conversation with son over Kelly Preston

<p>John Travolta has recalled an emotional conversation he had with his son, Ben, after the death of Kelly Preston.</p> <p>While appearing on Kevin Hart’s Peacock talk show series, <em>Hart</em>, the 67-year-old A-lister opened up about the heartbreaking chat he had with his 10-year-old son, after the family lost Preston to breast cancer in 2020.</p> <p>The actress battled the disease for two years out of the public eye.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7843357/travolta-family-kelly-preston-1.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/5370c8c14d914e19a0e01f0ef76dbcc7" /></p> <p>Travolta revealed he and his son were walking through their neighbourhood, when Ben admitted he was afraid to lose his father.</p> <p>"He said to me once, 'Because mum passed away, I'm afraid you're going to,'" the <em>Grease</em> star shared.</p> <p>"I said, 'Well, it's a very different thing.' And I went through the differences about my longevity and her limited life," he continued.</p> <p>"I said, 'But you know, Ben… You always love the truth and I'm going to tell you the truth about life.
