John Travolta's heartbreaking tribute years after losing wife and son

<p>John Travolta has shared a heartbreaking post commemorating his late wife, Kelly Preston, and son, Jett Travolta. </p> <p>Jett was only 16 when he passed away while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas in 2009. Lisa Curry’s son suffers brutal injury

<p>Lisa Curry's son has debuted his drastic new look ahead of his upcoming role in the reboot of 1990s TV show <em>Gladiators</em>. </p> <p>Jett Kenny, 29, who is known for sporting a slicked-back man bun, is now sporting wild dreadlocks ahead of his appearance on the show.</p> <p>Jett shared a photo  of his new hairstyle up close on Instagram, just days after it was confirmed he would be taking on the role of Viking in the revamped entertainment game show, scheduled to premiere in 2024. </p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; Sweet reason why Kochie wore lipstick live on air

<p dir="ltr">David Koch wore bright red lipstick in an interview on <em>Sunrise </em>on Monday morning- all for a good cause.</p> <p dir="ltr">The<em> Sunrise </em>host wore the bold colour while interviewing model Jett Kenny, the son of sporting greats Grant Kenny and Lisa Curry.</p> <p dir="ltr">Jett also put on red lipstick mid-interview as part of the Lip-Stick It campaign - an initiative that encourages Aussie men to wear lipstick on May 11 to raise awareness and help raise funds for women’s mental health support services.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Less than half of the women experiencing mental health are seeking help,” Jett said on <em>Sunrise</em>.</p> <p dir="ltr">The initiative comes after the tragic death of Jett’s sister Jaimi, who had passed away three years ago from mental health issues.</p> <p dir="ltr">Ever since then Jett had vowed to raise awareness and funding for the cause, and is now the inaugural ambassador for the Lip-Stick It campaign.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Encouraging those people to just talk about it and having the strength that they might need to voice what they are going through. I think that was the biggest thing I found was they were so reserved, or she [Jaimi] was so reserved talking about her issues and her struggles”, Jett said.</p> <p dir="ltr">He added that, although not everyone with mental health issues experiences the same thing, he wants to encourage women to “just speak about it”.</p> <p dir="ltr">Kochie then told Jeff to “whack on the lippie”, as they talked about the campaign further.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I was trying to [apply lipstick] the other day and it is quite difficult. I might look like the Joker while I do this,” Jett told Kochie.</p> <p dir="ltr">“A lot of people think I look like the Joker without the lipstick,” Kochie quipped.</p> <p dir="ltr">Jokes aside, Jett then told the <em>Sunrise </em>host how proud he was to launch the campaign and support the women in their lives.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It’s our chance for us men to get behind the women that we love and support and show that we care,” Jett said.</p> <p dir="ltr">“If all it takes is to put on some red lipstick to start a conversation, and talk about it, I feel like it’s the least we can do.</p> <p dir="ltr">“It’s a big thing, not only for myself but for a lot of people. "Road to recovery": Jett Buckley's health update

<p>The son of AFL legend Nathan Buckley says he's on the mend after a serious karting crash landed him in hospital. </p> <p>Jett Buckley, 15, was at a racing circuit in Melbourne when he crashed during a practice session, as the teenager suffered a torn kidney and liver and a snapped clavicle. </p> <p>“I was thrown from the kart down an embankment landing on the tarmac with the kart landing on top of me,” he said, adding he was “OK” despite the scary ordeal.</p> <p>According to a witness and friend who helped, Jett fell about 2m to another part of the track before the kart landed.</p> <p>He was taken to Royal Children’s Hospital but has since been released and is recovering at home. </p> <p>“I’m home. I’m well and I’m on the road to recovery,” Jett said in an update on Thursday.</p> <p>“Like all sports, karting has its dangerous elements but we follow a set of strict protocols before every practice session and every race.”</p> <p>Jett stressed the crash was an accident and would not stop him from getting back on the track.</p> <p>“It’s these protocols (including the safety gear I wear like a 2nd skin) that protected me and that will have me up and about in quick time,” he said.</p> <p>“Upon reflection over the last 48 hours there is no doubt that I love this sport more than anything. “Fly free beautiful angel”: Lisa Curry says final goodbye to Jaimi

No turning back. One step at a time. "Pink flamingo": Jett Kenny explains bizarre new hairstyle

<p dir="ltr">Model and former <em>SAS Australia</em> contestant Jett Kenny has drastically changed his hair colour for a good cause. </p> <p dir="ltr">Sharing the incredible snaps to Instagram, Jett showed off bright pink locks in support of his friend’s daughter who was diagnosed with leukaemia. </p> <p dir="ltr">Jett has already raised a whopping $8,200 for the Leukaemia Foundation and will cut his hair on April 9, in honour of his friend’s daughter.</p> <p dir="ltr">“When I said pink, I meant PINK,” he wrote in the caption.</p> <p dir="ltr">“A whopping $8200 has been raised so far for team #allinforaspen and @worldsgreatestshave</p> <p dir="ltr">“Nine more days till it all comes off, let’s see what targets we can hit next. Lisa Curry's sweet words for son Jett after emotional episode

<p><em>Image: channel 7 </em></p> <p>Jett Kenny has opened up about the death of his sister, Jaimi, in emotional scenes on SAS Australia.</p> <p>Drawing praise for his “courage” from his mother Lisa Curry after the program aired, she told him: “Jaimi would be so proud of you.”</p> <p>As part of a confronting challenge on Tuesday night’s episode, the recruits had to stand in front of their fellow contestants and talk about something they’re most ashamed of.</p> <p>The 27-year-old ironman told the group he “never fully understood” Jaimi’s health battles with alcohol and an eating disorder, which claimed her life in September last year at only 33.</p> <p>Jett said his sister had an ongoing battle with mental health issues for 15 years prior to her death, and at one stage, he attempted to have a heart-to-heart with her about it.</p> <p>“For me it was kind of just, ‘Why are you doing this to yourself?’ And never fully understood it,” Jett said.</p> <p>“There was one thing I said at her funeral. I’m not gonna say it because it was very personal but I remember saying it to her the night that she asked me….this question, and I gave her the honest truth. And I was hoping that was the harsh reality that she needed – hearing it from her younger brother.</p> <p>“But she’s gone now. I kind of regret not being there for her more.”</p> <p>Speaking in a piece-to-camera interview afterwards, Jett said his family, including famous Olympian parents Grant Kerry and Lisa Curry, did everything they could to support Jaimi through her struggles.</p> <p>“We did everything we could as a family and for Jaimi to try bring her out of it but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. She got told she wasn’t gonna make it to 30. She got to 33,” he said.</p> <p>“To me, it was like, you have the willpower to change your life and turn things around. But that’s me. I can’t speak for someone who’s going through mental health issues because I’ve never been there.”</p> <p>“Everyone has to do the best they can for the people they love, but when you can’t it makes you question yourself. Like, ‘Was I a good enough brother?’” Jett added.</p> <p>As he sat back down, he was comforted by his fellow recruits where he began to shed a tear. “It’s my older sister. Of course I’m going to miss her.”</p> <p>Jett was interrogated one-on-one toward the end of the episode, where he recalled his final goodbye with Jaimi.</p> <p>“I remember with my sister passing in September we were all sitting around the hospital bed with her, saying our last goodbyes. And I just remember seeing them (his parents) sitting there, holding her hand, just being, like, ‘What more could we have done?’.</p> <p>“Mum said it perfectly, she was fighting a demon in her head. And unfortunately the demons got her in the end. She’d beat some away and then more would come back.</p> <p>“It was good in a way because it was almost like her suffering was over. So she battled on for another eight and a half, nine hours from when I last saw her to when they took the life support off.</p> <p>“And that’s what she was, she was a fighter. One year on: Jett Kenny opens up on sister’s final moments

<p><span>Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny’s son Jett Kenny has opened up about the death of his sister. </span></p> <p><span>Jaimi died on September 14th 2020 at age 33, after a long battle with mental health issues and an eating disorder. </span></p> <p><span>Her younger brother Jett has spoken candidly about his grief at losing his sister almost one year on from her tragic death. </span><span></span></p> <p><span>The 26-year-old lifeguard, model and <em>SAS Australia </em>spoke to the Courier Mail about how he remembers every detail from the harrowing day. </span></p> <p><span>On September 13th 2020, Jett missed a call form his mother Lisa as he was finishing a lifeguard shift on the Sunshine Coast. </span></p> <p><span>He had a bad feeling when he heard the strange tone of his mum's voice, urging him to call her back. </span></p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">Jaimi was on life support at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, and her family was gathering around her bedside.</p> <p>She was taken off life support after eight hours, and passed away another eight hours later. </p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">“She fought all the way to the end,” Jett said.</p> <div class="hide-print ad-no-notice css-qyun7f-StyledAdUnitWrapper ezkyf1c0"> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">“The doctors thought it was going to be about a minute or two, so she was a fighter, that’s for sure.</p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">“She originally got told she may not make it to 30, and she got to 33 so she battled on with it for a long time.”</p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">After Jaimi's death, her parents broke the news on social media saying she <span>died after battling a “long-term illness” and had “passed away peacefully.”</span></p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">Most people were unaware of Jaimi's health struggles and were shocked by the sudden news. </p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020">Jett said that the hardest part of it all was watching his parents become enveloped in their overwhelming grief. </p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020"><span>“You see your parents, and that’s the thing that gets me really upset is seeing mum and dad so upset, because no-one wants to see their parents upset in a way."</span></p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020"><span>“But after that, it was just a matter of trying to be strong for them, I guess.”</span></p> <p class="css-1316j2p-StyledParagraph e4e0a020"><em>Image credit: Instagram @jettkenny @lisacurry</em></p> </div>

Lisa Curry’s son leaps to her defence

<p>Former Olympian Lisa Curry left a comment on her son’s Instagram photo, writing "cute" on one of his recent posts. Strangely, this prompted a troll to add a nasty remark, stating:</p> <p>"@lisacurry you comment [on] every post to get attention."</p> <p>Quickly, 27-year-old Jett replied and in a few lines, he told the troll exactly what he thought of them:</p> <p>Jett posted: "Who the f--k are you? My mum comments on every photo and you think it's for attention? Why don't you take yourself off the internet for a while, moron."</p> <p>Jett also called out the troll on Instagram Stories by sharing a screenshot of the exchange.</p> <p>"Firstly, they don't even follow me so they've gone out of their way to be annoying," he captioned the screenshot. “I love you”: John Travolta’s tribute to Jett

<p dir="ltr">John Travolta penned a message to his son, Jett, on what would have been his 29th birthday.</p> <p dir="ltr">The tribute was shared on Instagram on Tuesday, April 13, the day Jett was born, alongside a photo of Travolta with his son.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Happy birthday my beautiful Jetty. I love you,” the<span> </span><em>Grease</em><span> </span>star wrote.</p> <p dir="ltr">Travolta’s daughter, Ella, also shared her own tribute to her late brother. The 21-year old captioned a photo of them together as kids with, “I love you Jetty. He had seizures and when he was very young, he had Kawasaki syndrome,” she explained.</p> <p dir="ltr">Fans shared messages of support for Travolta and hoped that Jett and Kelly would be celebrating together.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I believe he and Kelly are together (again) forever … I hope you have found comfort in that, in some small measure at least,” one commenter wrote.</p>

“Keep fighting": Lisa Curry's powerful message

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lisa Curry continues to struggle with the death of her daughter Jaimi Kenny.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The former Australian Olympian described her daily pain in an emotional tribute to Jaimi on Instagram.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“Our Jaimi. My brain has thoughts and conversations that my mouth can’t say. It’s hard to talk about the pain and fear that is felt daily… life goes on,” Curry wrote, accompanied by a selfie of the pair.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">“People say you get stronger… You don’t. You just learn to hide it better. <p>Olympian Lisa Curry has opened up about the “red flags” she saw in her late daughter Jaimi Kenny in the years leading up to her tragic passing at just 33.</p> <p>Curry said her daughter was diagnosed with a “chemical imbalance” when she was a teen and died after “many years of ups and downs” with her health.</p> <p>“I know people want to know why and how, but it’s not important at this time, or maybe ever, I don’t know,” she wrote.</p> <p>“What I will say though is that Jeff (Butterworth) diagnosed her with a chemical imbalance 18 years ago when we started to see some tiny red flags.</p> <p>“Sometimes, an individual, even adults like us, can disregard little red flags, thinking it doesn’t matter or won’t matter.”</p> <p>Jaimi, the daughter of Curry and ironman Grant Kenny passed away on September 14 after a private health battle.</p> <p>In the post published in the Happy Hormones Facebook group on Monday, Curry said she was still grappling with her eldest child’s death.</p> <p>“We held Jaimi when she took her first breath and we held her as she took her last. I still can’t believe it, it doesn’t seem real,” she said.</p> <p>“It’s given me the heaviest heart. Some days I can’t even get out of bed or function.”</p> <p>She urged those in the group not to ignore their own “red flags” that she said could “add up to slowly erode your whole being … to the point where you may only be existing and not really living”.</p> <p>The warning signs included “life’s small neglects” such as poor food choices, a lack of attention to stressful situations, being inactive, living with or around toxic people and how you interact with other people.</p> <p>“Don’t wait until it’s too late to make changes … do it now while you can … starting right now,” she said.</p> <p>“Recognise the little red flags. Don’t live your life in turmoil, regret or guilt.”</p> <p>It has been widely reported Ms Kenny had struggled with depression and alcohol abuse in recent years following the death of her partner Lachy Crossley in 2017.</p> <p>Her parents said in a statement confirming Ms Kenny’s passing in September she had “lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital”.</p>

Family tragedy unites rivals Lisa Curry and Tracey Wickham

Tracey.”</span><br /><br /><span>Wickham lost her daughter Hannah Ciobo in 2009 after a five-year battle with the rare disease, synovial cancer.</span><br /><br /><span>Hannah, 19, was first diagnosed with synovial sarcoma — a rare and aggressive cancer — in 2004.</span><br /><br /><span>While she did beat it after several operations and rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, it sadly returned for the final time in early 2009.</span></p> <p><span>She died three hours after achieving her final wish — marrying Tom O’Driscoll in a hospital wedding.</span><br /><br /><span>The pair met two years earlier in a cancer ward.</span><br /><br /><span>Wickham said her daughter was in a hospital gown and on oxygen, but was aware of the ceremony.</span><br /><br /><span>The heartbreaking nuptials were attended by 20 family and friends including Hannah’s dad and brother Daniel.</span><br /><br /><span>“There was love in her eyes,” she said.</span><br /><br /><span>“Tom was alone with her, and he saw her slip away.</span><br /><br /><span>“She was too young to die.
