Guy Sebastian's wife shares tragic family news

Guy Sebastian's wife Jules Sebastian has shared her heartache this week following the loss of her beloved father.

The stylist shared a moving tribute to her father on Instagram, with a series of photos including pictures from her childhood and on her wedding day and the caption: "This week my beautiful Dad went to heaven to be with the angels."

"Our hearts are broken but also so full of gratitude for the time we had with him in the last days of his life," she continued.

She then remembered all of the great things about her dad, saying: "When I think of my Dad I think of the twinkle in his eye. He was always ready for a laugh and a joke and had the lightest way of cruising through life. My Dad had time for everyone. He made everyone feel important. He was always up for any social occasion and could talk to anyone and everyone. He was easy going and comfortable in his skin. He loved music and art and had the best handwriting I’ve ever seen."

"There wasn't a soul who knew him that didn't love him. As this week has unfolded, I have been overwhelmed with how many people have described him as a 'good man'. That he was. Just so good," she said.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jules Sebastian (@julessebastian)

"What a privilege it was to be in the room as my Dad took his last breath on earth. The Voice 2025 coaches line-up leaked

The Voice Australia appears set to have a major cast shake up, following Guy Sebastian's shock departure from the show after six years.

An insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that current coaches Kate Miller-Heidke and Adam Lambert are also saying goodbye to the show.

Channel Seven is said to be in the final stages of locking their new line-up, which includes former fan favourites like Keith Urban.

“The line-up that Channel Seven wants is Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy, Ronan Keating and LeAnn Rimes,” the source told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“They’ve all been on the show before and conversations had started a few months back.”

Urban last appeared on the singing competition as coach in 2022, and fans were overjoyed when he appeared as a guest earlier this year.

"Keith was asked about returning when he recorded a performance for the grand finale and he sounded open to the idea - as long as it works with his wife Nicole Kidman's plans to be back in Australia at the same time," the insider said.

The source also said that US singer Rimes is likely to return as well.

"In the lead-up to this year’s finale, LeAnn's management kept talking about the next series and what she plans to do differently," they said.

“LeAnn was clear about her ambition to return next year and Channel Seven are keen to have her back after her artist won.”

Jessica Mauboy, who was coach for the show from 2021 to 2023, left the series this year to focus on her music and go on tour, but Channel Seven are also keen to welcome her back.

“There were always plans to bring Jess back at some point and viewers really missed her contribution this season," the insider said.

“The conversation about Jess had been on the cards with or without Guy. It seemed the network was already looking at flipping Kate Miller-Heidke, who seemed a little out of place on the show."

As for Ronan Keating, who was last seen on the show in 2016, the source said he was keen to appear on the Australian version of the show again.

Channel Seven is expected to officially announce the 2025 lineup for The Voice Australia at their upcoming Upfront event this month.

“One thing is for sure The Voice Australia will go on without Guy Sebastian and 2025 looks set to have one of the best line-ups without him."

Images: Channel Seven

"He's not dead!" Logies tribute to John Farnham divides viewers

A tribute to John Farnham at the 2024 TV Week Logies has divided audiences, with some saying the performance was a beautiful homage, while others believe it seemed like a eulogy for someone who isn't dead.

On Sunday night, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy took to the Logies stage for the performance that had everyone on their feet.

They were introduced by David Campbell, who recalled some of Farnham's impressive accolades.

"He sold over six million albums, had a career that spanned 60 years and is one of the best live performers the world has ever seen," Campbell said.

"We want to acknowledge John's wife Jill, his sons, Robert and James, and his close friend, Glenn Wheatley's wife Gaynor and their son, Tim Wheatley. But, most importantly tonight, it's about celebrating you, John. You are an Aussie icon. You are the voice, mate," he added.

Sebastian and Mauboy then belted out You're The Voice with the help of Farnham's own band, as the screens behind them played a video of Farnham singing the song himself.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Tommy 🧜🏾‍♂️🤴🏾 (@imtommyschroeter)

While the performance was met with a round of applause from the Logies audience, others online found the tribute in poor taste, with many commenting on X that while John has been battling cancer, he hasn't died and the on stage accolades made it appear the star had passed.

"I get John had a doco and had some health issues recently but he hasn't passed away. This is not a eulogy."

"Look. I get Farnsy is a national treasure, but he's not dead. Can we please stop acting like he's dead?" someone else posted.

Others were happy with the tribute, with one person writing, "I think it's better to celebrate our amazingly talented icons whilst they're still alive!! We love you John."

"Jessica Mauboy you are the voice!!! That was perfection," wrote another with one more chiming in, "It’s fitting to have Jess and Guy sing a John Farnham tribute."

How Guy Sebastian was conned by a Telstra worker

Guy Sebastian was allegedly duped into performing at a young girl's birthday party, when he thought the event was for a charity.

The singer was one of many people who were scammed by former Telstra salesman Gerard Cecil Vamadevan, 56, who has been sentenced to a maximum two years jail after pleading guilty to making hundreds of harassing phone calls to 19 separate victims.

On Monday, the NSW District Court heard how Vamadevan would tell victims he was either a “talent scout” or a “TV agent for Channel 7” to gain their phone numbers before making “sexually explicit” and “vulgar” anonymous phone calls to them.

In addition to his 19 seperate victims, Guy Sebastian was also conned by Vamadevan, who he met over a decade ago, as his claims came to light following the conclusion of the case in court.

At the beginning of their relationship, Sebastian was tricked into performing at Vamadevan's daughter's birthday party, although he told the singer it was a charity event for Telstra.

The court heard how Vamadevan would use social media pictures with Sebastian, other celebrities and business leaders he had met through work to convince his victims of his “connections” to the entertainment industry.

Sebastian’s manager said the pair knew each other about a decade ago and said the singer was used “for the convicted’s own personal benefit”.

In a statement to news.com.au, a spokeswoman for Telstra said they were “very concerned” about allegations the former employee had “misrepresented his relationship” with the company, as Vamadevan long claimed he worked for the Telstra "charity arm".

Vamadevan was sentenced to two years imprisonment, although will be eligible for release June 30th 2025 on good behaviour.

And then Kyle [Sandilands] made a joke about them getting me to fill in and I laughed."

"And literally at the same time, my manager [walked over] and said 'Guy we need to speak', and then I jumped in to fill in."

He went on to say it was a "full circle moment for me, because I will never forget Marcia's reassuring, affirming, beautiful nature when I was on Idol."

"I know I don't possess quite the same nurturing energy, but I did my best."

The Australian entertainment industry was struck with concern on Sunday night as news broke that Marcia had been rushed to the hospital just before filming for Australian Idol was about to begin.

Fortunately, reports indicate that she is now in stable condition, though the precise nature of her illness remains undisclosed.

The Voice 2023 winner revealed in thrilling finale

In a thrilling conclusion to The Voice's 12th season, Tarryn Stokes, a talented vocalist from Team Rita, emerged as the champion. The grand prize of $100,000 and a coveted recording contract with Universal Music Australia now belongs to her.

Facing formidable competition in the final four, including Charlie Pittman (Team Guy), Ethan Beckton (Team Jason), and Ezra Williams (Team Jess), Tarryn, at the age of 40, seized the victory.

The climactic showdown featured each of the top four contestants performing twice. First, they shared the stage with their respective coaches for a duet, followed by a solo performance.

Tarryn's coach, Rita Ora, joined her in a mesmerising duet rendition of the timeless Tina Turner hit, "The Best". Tarryn returned to deliver a jaw-dropping solo performance of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself", a rendition deeply inspired by Celine Dion's iconic version. Her solo act stood out as the highlight of the night, solidifying her status as a deserving winner.

Ezra Williams kicked off the evening with a captivating performance of Camila Cabello's "Don't Go Yet" and later shared an emotional, stripped-down version of Harry Styles' "As It Was" with coach Jess Mauboy.

Ethan Beckton took the stage alongside his coach, Jason Derulo, for a stirring rendition of Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Loved". Ethan later returned for his solo act, delivering Ed Sheeran's "Eyes Closed".

Charlie Pittman's powerful performance of Shawn Mendes' "When You're Gone" set the tone for his evening. He and coach Guy Sebastian surprised the audience with a tropical-pop twist on Natalie Imbruglia's classic, "Torn".

While Tarryn celebrated her victory with a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract with Universal Music Australia, it's important to note that success in the music industry is not guaranteed. Last year's winner, Lachie Gill, failed to make an impact on the charts, and the last Voice winner to score a top 20 hit was Judah Kelly back in 2017. Diana Rouvas, the winner of Season 8, also faced disappointment when her winner's single failed to crack the ARIA top 500.

Coach Rita Ora showered Tarryn with praise, highlighting her dedication and undeniable talent: "Tarryn's sacrificed time with her kids to make her dream come true. She is undoubtedly one of the best singers I've seen on a show like this."

In response, Tarryn shared her inspirational message: "I want people to know that they can still pursue their dreams as parents."

Image: Network Seven

All the highlights of Kyle's Big Day

In the star-studded Australian party of the year (so far), familiar faces from all realms of ‘celebrity’ have flocked to ‘shock jock’ Kyle Sandiland and Tegan Kynaston’s Darling Point wedding.

Among the guests were Kyle’s radio co-host Jackie O, singer Guy Sebastian, Today’s Karl Stefanovic, and former-NRL-turned-TV-star Beau Ryan. Convicted drug smuggler Simon Main and former-Kings Cross nightclub owner John Ibrahim were also in attendance - as well as Australia’s prime minister, Anthony Albanese.

The latter drew waves of criticism for his decision to attend in the lead up to the big day, particularly when considering the shadier portions of Kyle and now-wife Tegan’s guest list.

However, when pressed about it, Albanese stressed that he was just going to witness their love.

“Yes, I was invited to the wedding,” he said. “yes, I was invited in the context of Kyle saying how happy he was with Tegan.

"The thing that occurs at a wedding, it's a public expression in front of people, invited guests, of love between two people. That's a good thing.

"I enjoy weddings and I will be going to the wedding."

Albanese made matters worse for himself when he went on to call Kyle an “Australian success story”, with many quick to point out the many controversies surrounding the radio host over the course of his career in the public eye.

However, for those who were at the wedding, it was good to see the top politician there - who stayed for most of the night, despite assumptions he would pop in to congratulate the couple and then dash out again.

“I’ll be honest with you,” Beau Ryan told The Daily Telegraph, “it was a big effort for him to come.

“I thought he’d turn up for a hi-and-bye, but he was there for a lot of the night. I had visions of Albo with the headphones on, fully DJ’ing, but a DJ came in after Guy [Sebastian] and Conrad [Sewell] performed,” Ryan continued.

As Karl Stefanovic added, “it was an absolutely fabulous wedding.

“A great big Aussie mix of family and friends. And a Premier and a PM whose partners are more fun than them.

“The best part was Tegan’s grandfather walking her down the aisle, 97 years young.”

Singer Guy Sebastian - who sang Ray Charles’ ‘Hallelujah I Love Her So’ for the couple’s first dance - also opened up about his experience at the event, explaining that he “loved performing for their first dance, which started out as a romantic moment between the two of them, and ended with the whole room joining in with them.

“I’ve known Kyle for 20 years now, he has always been in my corner and it’s great to see him so happy in love as a husband and a dad.”

As for whether or not he had any particularly strong feelings about controversy surrounding the guest selection, Guy only had one thing to note, “it was the diversity in that community which made for some seriously interesting people watching.”

And when it came to the happy pair and their future together, he gushed that “Tegan is such a kind and calm person and seeing them balance each other out on the day made it obvious to everyone that they are perfect for each other.”

“Kyle was really overwhelmed and emotional,” Beau shared. “The ‘wow’ moment was when we all turned around and saw her at the end of the aisle.

“My wife grabbed me and said ‘look at Kyle’. Seeing him be vulnerable was quite powerful.”

Images: Instagram

Guy Sebastian speaks for first time about his neighbourhood court case saga

In a twist to a tale that has baffled from the start, Guy Sebastian has finally addressed the ongoing court case with his neighbour.

The singer was on Sunrise to discuss his fundraising for mental health when the hosts steered conversation towards the dispute, with an uncomfortable Guy initially trying to laugh it off.

“Life is full of challenges. Yourself at the moment, you’re currently involved in a court case with your neighbour,” host Matt Shirvington opened, referencing the years-long feud between Guy and his 66-year-old neighbour, Phillip Richard Hanslow.

“It’s hard, isn’t it? Because you’re a public figure, you’re in the public eye,” Matt continued. “There’ve been some pretty serious allegations though, thrown your way, which haven’t been spoken about publicly. What can you tell us?”

“Well, this is the first question I’m answering about it,” Guy responded. “I’ve chosen to not say anything, I guess I’ve learned now it’s sort of like ‘where do I start’, that’s been so much that’s [been] said that’s not true, and I’m not in a court case with him.

“I haven’t taken an AVO out against this guy. This is an ongoing thing, not an isolated event … there was something that transpired between me and him where I’d asked him, basically, to stop damaging my property.

“And then there was, you know, some things that were said on his part which caused me to have to call the police.”

“And so it’s not me versus him. It’s the police who decided to take the initiative of taking an AVO out.

“And like you said, as a public person, I will cop it, I get it. There’s going to be stuff that’s said but sometimes for me it’s like ‘where do I start’. I mean, there was something that was alleged yesterday, the stuff in the paper today that was just completely fabricated.”

With that, Guy was drawing attention to claims made by his neighbour that Guy had been holding a brick and “towering over” him, and that footage existed of the alleged incident.

Phillip’s lawyer, Bryan Wrench, reportedly told the court that “that footage was not provided to the police, and it would show Mr Sebastian with a brick in his hand towering over our client. That’s why we’re quite concerned that it is served and produced.”

Guy, however, maintained that this did not occur, and went on to voice his concern for his family in the midst of the media frenzy and roiling tension.

“And I think when it has to do with safety and my family - like, I travel for work - and it’s something that I had to address,” he said, “and there’s nothing I can do except for relying on the help of the police to calm this situation down.

“And so yes, there’s a lot that has been said. I don’t actually know where to start, but I guess with today there’s stuff that’s been said, and I know that it’s more of a story to flip the narrative so that I’m the bad guy in some way, it’s just completely not true.”

With Guy choosing there to conclude, Kylie Gillies expressed appreciation on behalf of herself and co-host Matt, before also thanking him for coming in to speak about his fundraising, and for opening up to them.

“That’s kind of why I don’t speak about stuff too,” Guy confessed, “because there’s so much of that stuff in the media that is everyone’s focus, and it makes it hard to do anything that actually means something.”

Images: Sunrise

"Bullet in your head": Guy Sebastian’s neighbour faces court over death threats

Phillip Hanslow, neighbour to Australian singer Guy Sebastian, faced court for the first time this morning over his alleged death threats.

Phillip arrived to a media frenzy with his wife, Carol, and her oxygen tank. He became emotional as he opened up about the state of his health in the wake of the six-year feud’s climax, and drew comparisons between his fight with the singer to the 1977 film Castle.

The feud between the neighbours reached breaking point on January 23 when Phillip allegedly confronted Guy outside their properties in Sydney’s eastern beaches. Guy was returning from a family holiday in Japan when Phillip is said to have kicked down his fence.

Phillip is said to have told the singer that “I’ll put a bullet in your head”, supposedly with a hammer in hand. However, the 66-year-old argues that his actual words were “one day someone will put a bullet in your head.”

In the days to follow the incident, Phillip was arrested and issued with an apprehended violence order. Guy was granted the order that prevented Philip from contacting him or from entering his property by Magistrate Ross Hudson.

Outside of the court, Phillip spoke of his arrest, and the manner in which law enforcement officers entered his home, claiming they “broke into the back of the house, smashed down the door, and came into the house while I was on the toilet and arrested me.

“And then took me off to Maroubra Police Station and I spent six-and-a-half hours in the lockup. All over just a heated argument with a neighbour which I think is clearly overboard.”

Phillip’s admissions to reporters didn’t stop there, with the former builder opening up about his health, and the full-time care he provides his wife.

“I’m 66 – on my way out, I suppose – my body’s worn out from years and years of working as a tradie, so it’s not easy trying to deal with what’s in front of me, but you’ve got to just move forward and do your best,” he said of his health conditions - including a herniated disk in his back, brain fog, and sciatica. “But I can’t cry about it, I’ve gotta keep moving forward.”

Phillip informed the court that he had to have his infected bowel removed, and that it would mean a three-week recovery for him. He did not enter pleas during his appearance, stating that he required legal aid but had been unable to find anyone who was available.

Under the circumstances, Magistrate Ross Hudson adjourned the matter, allowing Phillip until March 9 to find legal representation and to recover from his procedure.

Images: Getty

He was found not guilty of 13 charges.

Crown prosecutor David Morters SC on Friday told the court he was applying for Day to go straight to prison on the basis he was found guilty of so many charges, the quantity of money they involve and the period of which they were committed.

“The offender has been found guilty of 34 of 47 counts, the total value is about $648,000...each offence can carry a maximum penalty of prison,” Mr Morters told the court.

“The accused was in a position of trust over four years.”

Day’s defence barrister Dominic Toomey told Judge Timothy Gartelmann SC he would have to be “positively satisfied” Day would definitely go to prison after undergoing a sentence hearing.

Judge Gartelmann told the court while Day is “likely” to be sentenced to full-time imprisonment, he is not “positively satisfied” of the certainty due to the limited evidence before the court.

“The application must be refused. However, it must be understood that the determination I have made today does not mean the accused will not be sentenced to full time imprisonment nor does it mean it is unlikely.

“The determination whether a sentence of imprisonment is appropriate will be made following a sentence proceedings in due course.”

Day must surrender his passport to the court and report to police at Waverley Police Station once a week.

Images: Nine News

Guy Sebastian questioned over home intruder head-butt

Guy Sebastian has been grilled in court over claims he head-butted an intruder who broke into his Sydney home while his wife and newborn son were sleeping.

The singer recalled the incident while being cross-examined at the embezzlement trial of his former manager Titus Day.

“I had a newborn who was sleeping, I was at my recording studio … I received a call from my wife about this person who was trying to get into our house through my little boy’s window and as a result I arrived home,” Mr Sebastian told the court on Tuesday.

“By the time I got home the guy trying to break in was still there. I chased after him.”

However, the court heard different stories about what the singer told people happened next.

When asked repeatedly if he head-butted the intruder, Mr Sebastian said he had not.

But he agreed with Dominic Toomey SC, who is acting for Mr Day, that’s what he told people afterwards.

“While I was holding him he was trying to grab me … elbowing and kicking me … he grabbed my [motorbike] helmet,” Mr Sebastian said.

“I’ve told people that I knocked him out … I didn’t head-butt him … I agree I’ve told people that I head-butted him."

“You’re implying I head-butted him as an intentional act but it just didn’t happen like that.”

The incident was brought up in relation to its inclusion in an Apprehended Violence Order taken out by Titus Day.

Mr Sebastian was served with the AVO application two days before he reported Mr Day to police over the allegations of embezzlement.

Mr Sebastian said his former manager was trying to “weaponise” the incident by including it in his AVO.

New medical emergency hits Guy Sebastian trial

Guy Sebastian’s trial against his former manager faces more delays after another medical emergency unfolded just days after the presiding judge suddenly passed away.

One of the jurors was rushed to hospital after suffering a severe allergic reaction during the lunch break - prompting the new judge to question whether it is practical for the trial to continue, as reported by 7News.

Judge Timothy Gartelmann announced that he would be taking over the trial on Monday, and with several jurors handing him notes raising concerns about future commitments, he said he would deliberate overnight once he found out about the welfare of the ill juror.

“I will then make a decision about whether or not it is practical for individual jurors and indeed the trial itself to continue,” he said.

Sebastian’s former manager, Titus Emmanuel Day, has pleaded not guilty to 50 charges, including allegedly embezzling money owed to Sebastian through royalties and performance fees, as well as 50 alternative counts of larceny.

Beginning his testimony on Wednesday, May 4, the Voice judge testified that Day promised him 10 percent equity in his company 6 Degrees - which Day managed him through for nearly a decade - in recognition of his importance as a “foundation client” in the company’s success.

Email exchanges tendered in court also showed that Day told Sebastian he would give him 10 percent ownership of Solar D, a sunscreen brand Day created.

Sebastian said he then became an informal ambassador for the brand, conducting interviews and participating in a rowing event and photoshoot among other duties.

He said he didn’t expect any payment for the work because the emails made it clear he was part-owner of the company.

Sebastian said “there were requests for intros”, and when asked about Day’s character in relation to the company, he gave “him a wrap”.

“He’s a good bloke, and I’m involved as well. Guy Sebastian responds after lashing out at teens in new clip

Guy Sebastian has admitted he regrets language he used in a clip of him swearing at a group of teenagers over the Easter holiday break, adding the clip didn’t show the full extent of the situation.

The footage, obtained by The Daily Telegraph, shows the Voice coach storming up to the group of teens and calling one a “f***wit” after they allegedly said something offensive to him.

Looking clearly frustrated, the clip shows Sebastian approach the group saying, “I was f***ing being nice to you”, as one teen tells him to calm down.

“He’s a kid, calm down,” one teen repeats.

“I was a kid once, I wasn’t a f***wit,” Sebastian replies.

In his response to the clip, the 40-year-old singer said he regretted using strong language, but that the clip didn’t show everything.

“We all know teenagers can push boundaries,” he told Sunday Confidential.

“This isn’t an isolated situation.

“Being provoked for a reaction and being filmed sometimes comes with being in the public eye.

“I shouldn’t have sworn, I am not proud of that, but … it’s a very short snippet of a situation that does not tell the full story.”

The emergence of the footage comes at the end of a tough week for the Aussie artist, who gave evidence against his former manager in court and was forced to postpone his tour dates after testing positive to Covid.

Image: @guysebastian (Instagram)

Guy Sebastian hit with a setback

Guy Sebastian has been hit with another setback after being forced to push back his tour dates after testing positive to Covid.

He announced on Thursday evening that he had tested positive to the infectious disease amid his courtroom battle with his former manager.

"I'm so gutted to release this statement," he wrote in a statement on Instagram.

"With regret, the upcoming Guy Sebastian Cairns T.R.U.T.H show scheduled for Tuesday 10th May and the upcoming Townsville show, scheduled for the 11th May will be rescheduled due to Guy Sebastian testing positive to Covid-19 on the afternoon of Thursday 5th May.

"I was so looking forward to performing in Cairns & Townsville next week. I am so sorry to disappoint my fans and I promise to do something even more special once I'm able to perform as a thank you for your patience and understanding."

Ticket holders are asked to hold onto their tickets with emails being sent out informing concertgoers about the postponed dates.

The remainder of the tour will continue as scheduled from May 13 on the Gold Coast.

The former Australian Idol winner began his evidence in Sydney's Downing Centre District Court on Wednesday against Titus Emanuel Day, 49, who allegedly defrauded the entertainer on 50 occasions.

Titus has pled not guilty to the 50 charges, which include fraudulently embezzling money allegedly owed to Sebastian through royalties and performance fees, as well as 50 seperate counts of larceny and stealing.

The Crown alleges that Day - who managed Sebastian through his company 6 Degrees between 2009 and 2017 - embezzled Sebastian out of almost $900,000 between 2013 and 2020.

After being introduced to Day following his win on Australian Idol, Sebastian signed with his management company, and formed a trusting relationship with his new manager.

"One of the benefits of my manager was he was a contract lawyer so I trusted that if he put something in front of me he wouldn't do so unless it was ready to be signed,” Sebastian said in court.

The court was told no contract was ever formalised between Day and Sebastian, but after the "acrimonious and hostile" break-up between the pair, the singer later discovered "anomalies" related to royalty payments never remitted to him by 6 Degrees.

The trial between Titus Day and Guy Sebastian continues.

Images: Instagram

Sour note as The Voice winner crowned

Fans of The Voice were up in arms over the finale on Sunday night, with the spotlight steering focus away from the winner.

As is finale tradition on the singing competition, the final four artists took part in a live duet with their superstar coaches.

Most fans loved the cross-over of talent, but one duet left fans feeling frustrated.

Fan favourite Mick Harrington took to the stage with his coach Jessica Mauboy to perform a duet of the 1982 hit track Solid Rock by Goanna.

Some viewers were left scratching their heads and they felt Jessica "virtually shut out" Mick.

Many fans took to Twitter to express their outrage and found they were not alone in their thinking.

One fan said, 'Shouldn't these duets be showcasing the contestants and not the 'coach' singing like 90%.'

Another Twitter user agreed saying, "Too bad Jess sung over the top and virtually shut him out of the song."

A third person wrote, "Why does Jess always need to make the choices be about her? This is about the contestant and not about you!"

Other fans also argued that the wind machine used for powerful visuals overpowered Mick's delicate voice.

One fan said, "Be great if we could hear their voices, this being the voice and all."

While there was an online slew of negative comments, there were a fair share of fans that thought the duet performance "ticked every box", while another person said it was possibly the best performance in the show's history.

Despite the love online for Mick Harrington, the powerhouse voice of Bella Taylor Smith took out the 2021 crown.

The newly crowned winner shared a special moment with her coach Guy Sebastian after she won, with her mentor saying, “You are special Bella. Go out there and kill it, I know you will.”

Check out the video of the powerhouse duet below:

Natalie Barr calls out Guy Sebastian for backflip on pro-vax campaign

Sunrise host Natalie Barr has called out Guy Sebastian for withdrawing his support for the live music industry's vaccination campaign after receiving criticism from anti-vaxxers.

Both Natalie Barr and David Koch shared their thoughts on Guy's decision on Wednesday, with Barr in particular expressing disapproval.

The 53-year-old journalist said she was baffled by the singer's backflip given that most public figures who endorse the COVID vaccine face trolling online, but they don't cave into pressure after a few nasty comments on Instagram.

“I mean, if you're pro-vaccination like most of us are, then every day anti-vaxxers attack you online. Why would he have been shocked by that?” Barr asked.

Barr's remarks are notable given that Sunrise airs on Channel Seven, which is the same network which broadcasts The Voice, on which Guy is a coach.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford responded saying: “Guy doesn't like to make waves. He is a nice person and he doesn't want people hating him, but the general mood out there at the moment is you've got to take a stance.”

But Kochie saw it differently, saying Guy shouldn't be slammed for backpedalling on the campaign, arguing he has every right to have reservations about vaccines.

“We've lost the [ability to] agree to disagree, haven't we?” he said. “It's ‘you do as I say or I'm going to hate you for it’.”

Guy’s backflip also a topic on Today Extra

Guy's backflip was also a topic of discussion over on Nine's Today Extra, with hosts David Campbell and Belinda Russell offering their takes on the situation.

Campbell explained: “I think Guy does support vaccination. I think the confusion is when everyone is trying to say one thing and then he tries to play both sides a little bit.”

He added: “You can have a conversation and play both sides, but not on these issues and not on social media because what is going to happen is you'll get hate and that will get put on [another platform] for other people who don't even care to troll you.

“It's a mess for him, a mess for his management and I hope we can remember that #VaxTheNation is the most important thing,” he added.

Russell agreed, insisting Guy's message about the vaccine campaign wasn't clear.

“He did try and say he was talking about people with underlying medical issues [having a right to refuse the vaccine] but it wasn't clear,” she said.

The #VaxTheNation campaign

The #VaxTheNation movement is urging Aussies to get vaccinated in order to stop the cycle of lockdowns and help restart the live music industry.

Guy had endorsed the campaign on Instagram on Monday, but deleted the post just hours later after fierce backlash from anti-vaxxers.

He then uploaded a bizarre video apologising to fans.

Guy said the campaign post was uploaded to his page 'without his involvement' and that he had only wanted to support and reopen the entertainment industry, not to preach to people about their personal vaccination choices.

“Hello, everybody. I just wanted to jump on here to clear something up,” he said in the clip posted on Monday night.

“I'm sure some of you today might have seen an industry call-out with the best of intentions for our live music industry, which is absolutely decimated, trying to find a pathway forward so we can all assemble together again.

“I've always done everything that I can to support my industry but the campaign was posted to my page without my direct involvement.

“And while I, like everyone else in my industry, want things to get going again, it is not my role to communicate in the way that post was communicated.'

“I would never ever tell people what to do when it comes to their personal health choices,' Guy added, in reference to the Covid vaccine.

Guy also spoke to talkback radio host Ray Hadley on 2GB on Tuesday morning and insisted he was not anti-vax, but was standing up for people who cannot be vaccinated for legitimate medical reasons.

"I haven't said that I don't support vaccinations; I'm double jabbed myself," he said.

"In my message, I said I support the initiative. I just think when the message is delivered it shouldn't be done in a way to shame the people who don't fall into an anti-vax category."

More than 400 Australian artists and performers have joined forces to launch the #VaxTheNation campaign.

Powderfinger, Jimmy Barnes, Tim Minchin, Courtney Barnett, Celeste Barber, Vance Joy, Em Rusciano, Marcia Hines, Midnight Oil and Amy Shark are just some of the big names encouraging fans to get the vaccine to help restart the live music industry.

Image: Instagram and 7 News
