Meghan Markle delighted fans on Saturday by sharing a never-before-seen image of her husband, Prince Harry, and their three-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, in a touching father-daughter moment. In the photo, Prince Harry can be seen kissing Lilibet’s head as she sits on his lap aboard a boat. The young princess, dressed in a pink T-shirt and floral leggings, is turned away from the camera, her hair styled in a ponytail. Harry, donning a white T-shirt, blue-and-white striped shorts, a backwards blue baseball cap and sunglasses, exudes relaxed fatherly affection in the candid shot. Markle, who shares Lilibet and five-year-old Prince Archie with the Duke of Sussex, posted the image on Instagram in honour of International Women’s Day. “Happy International Women’s Day!” she captioned the image. “Celebrating the strong women around us & the girls with dreams who will become women with vision. Also thanking those who uplift us every day.” The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex also shared a series of other images, including a sweet moment of Harry embracing her from behind as they strolled along a beach. She also threw in several nostalgic photos with her mother, Doria Ragland – one from her childhood and another from adulthood. Markle’s Instagram post comes shortly after the launch of her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan. A crew member from the production revealed that Harry, Archie and Lilibet frequently visited Markle on set during filming. The insider also noted Markle’s devotion to her children. “She was super attentive and doting on them. We would give them headphones so they could listen to audio,” they said. Prince Harry even made a surprise cameo in the eight-episode series, which features Markle sharing her passion for cooking, gardening and hosting. Meghan Markle has shared a rare glimpse of her daughter, Princess Lilibet, as she reintroduces her lifestyle brand under a new name – As Ever. Following trademark issues with her original brand name, American Riviera Orchard, the Duchess of Sussex officially confirmed the rebranding in a social media post. Accompanying the announcement, a newly launched website prominently features an image of Meghan and Lilibet walking hand-in-hand through a park, seemingly captured by a drone. This marks the third new image of three-year-old Lilibet shared with the public in just a few months. British royal considering moving to Australia

A member of the British royal family is considering relocating to Australian shores after finding love with an Aussie. Lady Louise Windsor, the late Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, found love with Australian student Felix Robert da Silva-Clamp and is reportedly planning to move Down Under for her partner. Lady Windsor is the daughter of King Charles’ youngest brother Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. She and Felix, who attended Melbourne Grammar School from 2017 to 2022, first met at St Andrew’s University in Scotland. Felix is the son of British solicitor, Charles William da Silva-Clamp, while his mother, Kendall Clamp, lives in Melbourne, and holds a master’s degree in epidemiology. Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter joined Nat Barr on Sunrise on Thursday, where she explained that Lady Windsor was interested in taking classes at Macquarie University in Sydney. “Both of their degrees allow for a study abroad semester — Louise at the moment is in her third semester. If she is likely to do a semester of study abroad, it would likely be in her fourth year,” Arbiter said. “She is interested in studying at Macquarie University in Sydney. Masked robbers target Windsor Castle

Two masked men have targeted Windsor Castle and took off with two vehicles that were stored in a barn. The men used a stolen truck to break through a security gate at night and then scaled a two-metre fence to gain entry into the royal grounds. According to reports by The Sun, King Charles and Queen Camilla were not at Windsor at the time, but it is believed Prince William and his family were residing in Adelaide Cottage, part of the Windsor Castle estate. The cottage is five minutes away from where the break-in occurred, and the family are regularly seen using the wrecked gate, the nearest exit to their home. Local police were called to a report of a burglary on Crown Estate land in Windsor, west of London, just before midnight on October 13th. “Offenders entered a farm building and made off with a black Isuzu pick-up and a red quad bike. They then made off towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area,” Thames Valley Police told the newspaper. “No arrests have been made at this stage and an investigation is ongoing.” Image credits: Shutterstock

Jacinda Ardern receives Damehood at Windsor Castle

Jacinda Ardern has been officially made a dame in a special ceremony at Windsor Castle in London. The former New Zealand prime minister received one of the country's highest honours on Wednesday, The New Zealand Order of Merit, for her services to the state. She was appointed a Dame Grand Companion a few months after her shock resignation as prime minister in 2023, but only just formally received her damehood from Prince William at the investiture ceremony in London. Prince William and Princess Catherine posted a clip of the moment Ardern received her damehood in a social media post, where they called her a friend and extraordinary advocate. Princess Lilibet turns three

Princess Lilibet turned three on Tuesday without much fanfare, but according to <a href="https://people.com/meghan-markle-prince-harry-celebrate-princess-lilibet-3rd-birthday-party-montecito-home-8655331" target="_blank" rel="noopener">People</a>, the family have already celebrated her birthday in an intimate ceremony over the weekend. The magazine reported that Meghan and Harry held a small party for friends and family, at their home in Montecito, California. However, the Sussexes did not mark their daughter's official birthday publicly, and they did the same thing for her older brother Prince Archie's birthday on May 6. The royal family have also not released any official photographs of the young royals, with the last official image of Lilibet shared by her parents on her first birthday in June 2022. "In recent years and certainly since King Charles III's reign began in September 2022, we have only seen public messages from the royal family's social media accounts for working members of the royal family," royal correspondent Danielle Stacey previously told HELLO! "Such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal." The Sussexes have stopped sharing images of their children altogether, with fans only catching glimpses of them through grainy photos or snippets from the couple's Netflix docu-series Harry and Meghan. According to The Sun, Prince Harry has been adamant about protecting their children's privacy, and the two will not be feature in their parent's upcoming series with Netflix, with Harry planning to release a show about polo and Meghan planning to release a lifestyle show. "Harry and Meghan have not always agreed on how much they should expose their children to the media, but, in this case, Harry has clearly won," an insider told The Sun. Queen Elizabeth’s secret “anger” at Lilibet’s name

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to name their daughter Lilibet allegedly greatly “angered” the late Queen Elizabeth, according to an explosive new book. In the new biography Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, by veteran royal journalist Robert Hardman, a source close to the royal family shared the secret anger about the Sussexes using Her Majesty’s childhood nickname for their child. The affectionate moniker was used frequently during the late Queen’s childhood, after it emerged from her own mispronunciation of her name as a child. The nickname was used only by her late parents, her sister Princess Margaret, husband Prince Philip, and closest inner circle. Meghan Markle gave birth to her daughter in June 2021, naming her Lilibet Diana, in tribute to both the Queen and to Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. According to the explosive new book, a senior palace source described the late monarch as being “as angry as I’d ever seen her” when the couple said in a statement she’d approved the use of the name for their second child. In the wake of the new claims, the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English added that aides told her at the time that the Queen had felt her name had been “taken”. “‘I don’t own the palaces, I don’t own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now they’ve taken that,” they reportedly told her. English added that she’d been told the Queen was “taken aback” when Harry informed her of his intention with the name, but “didn’t feel, given the circumstances, she could say no”, describing it as “being pushed into an impossible corner.” The claims of the Queen’s disappointment first began to swirl shortly after Lilibet’s birth, but a law firm representing Harry and Meghan quickly fired off a statement to news organisations, suggesting the claim was false and defamatory. “The duke spoke with his family in advance of the announcement – in fact his grandmother was the first family member he called,” the message read. “During that conversation, he shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honour. There has been a rare sighting of Meghan Markle and her daughter, Princess Lilibet, in California. The royal mother-daughter duo were spotted close to their home in Montecito, California, as they joined revellers to celebrate the Fourth of July in a parade. Prince Harry and Prince Archie, four, were also in attendance but in the short clip shared on social media, they are obscured by other members of the crowd watching the event. Body language expert weighs in on Prince George

Prince George has stunned fans by stepping out ahead of his family during the annual Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. 9-year-old George was accompanied by his parents - the Prince and Princess of Wales - and his siblings, seven-year-old Princess Charlotte and four-year-old Prince Louis. And while in 2022 the young royal stood between her parents as they made their way into the service, all eyes were on George in 2023 when he took the lead and strode a step ahead of them. And now, body language expert Judi James - who took note of George at both the 2021 and 2022 services as well - has spoken to The Daily Mail about what she believes the 9-year-old’s new “grown-up dynamic” means - both for himself, and the future of the British royal family. “At this Easter service there was a status step-up from George, who walked ahead to lead his family into the service,” she explained, “showing a newly grown-up dynamic from the five Wales’ when it comes to royal outings. “George used to be the one holding his father’s hand and looking rather timid, but here it was Charlotte walking in alongside William, while Kate held Louis’s hand beside them.” Judi went on to note that even this line-up “had its own upgrade”, outlining how Charlotte had appeared to check in on her younger brother, before sharing “a beam of pride at his impeccable behaviour.” “On the way out of the service it was Charlotte mirroring her mother, walking beside Kate and offering her own shy wave to the crowds in a gesture that showed who she takes her own lead from,” she continued. “Louis was a very different boy from the playful, fidgety young royal <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/news/news/adorable-prince-louis-upstages-entire-royal-family" target="_blank" rel="noopener">we saw at the Jubilee</a>. Louis even appeared to look down to straighten his tie as he entered the chapel.” Judi circled back to George while discussing the family leaving the service, noting that George was the first to exit, and that he demonstrated initiative when he set out “shaking hands without any prompting.” Meanwhile, many fans just couldn’t believe how quickly the young royal had grown before their very eyes, taking to social media in the wake of the service to voice their surprise. “How grown up does Prince George look today?” wrote one. “Can't believe how much Prince George has grown up,” said another. “He will be as tall as Prince William soon.” “It has been wonderful to see him grow in confidence as well as height,” someone agreed. The pair also revealed that young Lilibet had been christened in a quiet ceremony at home in California, and it was one glaring detail that caught the attention of eagle-eyed readers. “Princess Lilibet Diana was christened on Friday, March 3 by the Archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev John Taylor,” a statement to People read. The same publication reported that the ceremony was attended by around 20 to 30 people, and that Meghan’s mother - Doria Ragland - and actor Tyler Perry - who is Lilibet’s godfather - were there. The British royals, despite the Sussexes having “extended an invite to King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton” did not attend. Buckingham Palace later confirmed that the line of succession list on its website would be updated to reflect this. Archie and Lilibet had been awarded the title of prince and princess when Harry’s father, King Charles III, had inherited the throne. However, Buckingham Palace’s website had listed them as “master” and “miss” respectively, and their true titles had remained a widely debated issue upon the Duke and Duchess’ move from the United Kingdom to the United States. And in 2021, during an interview with Oprah, Meghan even claimed that the palace “didn’t want him [Archie] to become a prince.” She went on to explain that while the titles weren’t important to her, through her pregnancy she and Harry had the same concerns for their son should he not be recognised as a prince. And before Archie’s birth, he had allegedly been offered the courtesy title of ‘Earl of Dumbarton’, but his parents turned it down. “They didn’t like the idea of Archie being called the Earl of Dumbarton,” a source told The Telegraph at the time, “because it began with the word ‘dumb’ [and] they were worried about how that might look.” Under rules established by King George V in 1917, prince or princess was a title only given to the monarch’s grandchildren through the male line, and one other family member - but not the great grandchildren. The only other family member in the direct line of succession entitled to the title is the eldest great grandson. George, William and Kate’s eldest, holds the title of prince through this ruling. And in 2012, the late queen changed the rules so that the couples’ youngest children, Charlotte and Louis, might also carry the titles of princess and prince. However, upon Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, Archie and Lilibet became the acting monarch’s grandchildren, and questions over what titles they would bear began anew. Lilibet's adorable first birthday cake revealed

The baker who made the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding cake has revealed a new snap of a 244 floral two-tier strawberry buttercream cake, which was baked fresh for Lilibet’s first birthday. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoyed the summer sunshine and hosted a “relaxed garden party” in June 2022 for their daughter's first birthday in the Windsor estate. The gathering included cake, balloons, party games and picnic snacks. Claire Ptak, the East London baker who made the couples wedding cake in 2018, created other baked goods for the low-key garden party including the cake that was a two tier seasonal strawberry buttercream. She shared a snap of the creation on Instagram, as a part of the 2022 highlights reel saying: “Our 2022 Greatest Hits. Thank you to all our customers and supporters over the last year for inspiring such beautiful work.” "Thank you to my incredible team for executing it all with so much fun, humour and passion." In the snap, she can be seen placing a pink peonie onto the cake, which featured the youngster's name. It was complete with an Amalfi lemon and elderflower filling and covered in a light buttercream. On the bakery's website, the cake is described as having "three layers of vanilla sponge drizzled with elderflower syrup and filled with Amalfi lemon curd." The top and sides of the cake are "iced with a buttercream scented with the juice and zest of lemons from the Amalfi coast, and decorated with chopped candied Amalfi lemon peel." At the time, Claire who owns the bakery and carefully designed the incredible cake - wrote on the brand's Instagram: "It was an absolute pleasure to make this special cake last week for Lilibet’s birthday. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared the adorable moment Lilibet took her first steps. In their new Netflix docuseries, the Sussexes shared the sweet footage of Lili in the trailer for the second half of the self-titled documentary. The family is seen spending time together, with the trailer showing images from their life in Montecito, California, from birthdays to trips by the beach and playing in their backyard. Lilibet, lovingly known as Lili, is featured and referenced multiple times throughout the clip, with one segment showing the one-year-old taking wobbly steps with the help of her mother Meghan, who is holding her by the arms. Meghan Markle has shared her daughter Lilibet's latest milestone in the most recent episode of the Archetypes podcast. Speaking with actress Pamela Adlon, the Duchess of Sussex said her days have become "more chaotic" ever since one-year-old Liliet started walking. "Lili has just started walking!" she said proudly. "She's a year and a couple of months old and Archie is just over three years old," Meghan said. "Oh, I'm in the thick of it, toddling." She went on to explain how mornings in the Sussex home are always a "rush", but she relishes in the madness of it all and insists on making breakfast each morning. "I'm sure it'll only get more chaotic as they get older," she said. "For me, it's, you know, both monitors on for the kids to hear them. Always up with Lili, get her downstairs, then a half hour later, Archie's up." "I start doing his lunchbox right before he's up while I have her, getting her a little nibble. My husband's helping me get him downstairs." "I make breakfast for all three of them. It's very important to me. I love doing it - to me, it just feels like the greatest way to start the morning." The Duchess of Sussex admitted it can feel like a "whirlwind" as she feeds their three dogs – Guy, Pula and Mia – and gets Archie off to school but praises Prince Harry for being a "partner" in parenting. As Meghan and her guest spoke about the pressures of motherhood, she said becoming a mother changed her outlook on everything, and how she wants to be a strong role model for her kids. "I first just had Archie, now I'm a mum of a daughter," she said while speaking to Adlon. "And whether I thought it was going to happen or not, it did. I see the world differently through how she is going to see the world and how she is going to look at certain women as role models. "And when I look at a lot of the women that I'm speaking to on this show, you included, I want her to understand that it is not just a box you have to fit into, but you get to be a full-fledged, interesting, curious, kind, strong, all the things, human being. Prince Harry shares rare update on Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry has surprised the winners of the WellChild Awards with a spontaneous video call, in which he shared a rare update on his children. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were meant to attend the awards in person on September 8th but that afternoon the Queen's health dramatically declined, forcing Harry to make the dash to Balmoral Castle. But now, Harry has spoken to winners of the awards and their families from his home in Montecito about the challenges they have been facing. Harry spoke with Henry Waines, who spent the first 15 months of his life in hospital and has now won the Inspirational Child award in the four to seven category. The pair joked about their shared name in a sweet exchange. He said, "My name is Henry. Well everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea why." "You sound just like my son Archie really. The same little squeaky voice. I love it." The four-year-old then asked Prince Harry about his two children. "They're doing great – Archie is very, very busy and Lili is learning to use her voice, which is great." Speaking with 13-year-old Isabelle Delaney, the duke praised her assistance dog, a Labradoodle called Hope, for helping her get through her tough times. "We all need a dog that keeps us calm," Prince Harry said. "I've got three in this house now, so we basically have five children. I've got a black Labrador called Pula, a rescue beagle called Guy, and we got another rescue beagle called Mia." "And between the three of them, they charge around chasing squirrels and causing all sorts of problems to us every single day. "But they are also emotional support dogs, 100 per cent, when they're behaving." Throughout the video call some of the parents and children sent their condolences to Prince Harry following the death of his 96-year-old grandmother. Harry attempted sign language with 10-year-old Shakeerah Crowther, a survivor of a rare brain infection. She signed to Harry, "I'm sorry about your grandmother the Queen." Evelyn Rodger, a children's hospice nurse whose role was funded by the Princess Diana memorial fund, said the late monarch would be "proud". She told Harry, "I think your mum would be very proud of what that money has achieved. "And I also think as a mum she'd be very proud of you, Harry." Harry replied, "That's very sweet, thank you." The WellChild Awards were an important part of Harry and Meghan's life as working royals. They attended the awards in 2018 and 2019, which celebrates the inspirational qualities of the UK's seriously ill children and young people, along with those who go that extra mile to make a difference to their lives. Archie and Lilibet snubbed from royal tradition

The children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will reportedly not be called “His Royal Highness” or “Her Royal Highness”. With King Charles III agreeing to bestow the titles of “Prince” and “Princess” on Archie, 3 and Lilibet, 1, he has refused to allow them to be known as HRH. The Duke and Duchess are allegedly furious over the snub, after they were stripped of “HRH” after moving to the US in 2020. So, why does the title matter? King George V declared in 1917 that both sons and daughters of the ruling monarch, as well as grandchildren from the sovereign’s male line, were entitled to be called HRH (His or Her Royal Highness). Queen Elizabeth II amended the rule in 2012, declaring all children of the Prince of Wales’ eldest son (Prince William) would be entitled to the HRH titles. The change never mentioned Charles’ younger children, leaving Harry in a grey area. The announcement was made before Kate Middleton and William had their first child, meaning their daughter would also be granted the title. An “HRH” title gives access to a salary as a working royal, and entitles one to official protection and security. It also means people are supposed to bow or curtsy when an HRH approaches. The title of HRH is currently held by King Charles III; Queen Consort Camilla; Princess Anne; Prince Edward; Sophie, Countess of Wessex; Prince William; Princess Kate; their three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte; and Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Little Louis' heartbreaking comment about "Grannie"

As mourners gathered outside Windsor Castle to pay their tributes to Queen Elizabeth, Kate, William, Harry and Meghan reunited in a show of solidarity. As they spoke to heart-broken Britons about the Queen, Kate revealed the devastating comment her son Prince Louis made after hearing about the Queen's death. Kate spoke of the touching anecdote while meeting people on the Long Walk, with 28-year-old Banita Ranow hearing the new Princess of Wales tell the children next to her what her 4-year-old son said. She said Kate told the children, “Louis said ‘at least Grannie is with great grandpa now’.” Ms Ranow said the Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge was “welling up” as she spoke to the children. Ms Ranow, along with several others who attended the makeshift memorial, said it "so beautiful to see" the reunion of the Cambridges and the Sussexes in the wake of the Queen's death. She said, “I felt so emotional and I felt the Queen would have loved it. I just hope in the future they remain like that and that the brothers come together, and the families.” It was William and Kate’s first engagement under their new titles, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the first time they have appeared in public with Harry and Meghan since the National Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s Jubilee in June. A new era for the House of Windsor: How Her Majesty's death will affect royal titles

As the world mourns the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, the royal family is shaking up their official business structure to accommodate for their "great sadness". Following the death of Her Majesty at age 96, the man formerly known as Prince Charles is now officially King Charles III, as announced by British Prime Minister Liz Truss this morning and later confirmed himself in an emotional statement. King Charles III is not the only one who has come into a new title after the death of Queen Elizabeth, as the entire royal family will see a change in their official titles as the line of succession has shifted down a generation. Camilla is soon to be known as Queen Consort, as per the late Queen Elizabeth's wishes, forgoing her title of the Duchess of Cornwall. Prince William is now first in line for the throne, meaning his title is expected to change from Duke of Cambridge to the titles his father held before ascending the throne: Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall. While the title is not yet official, Prince William and Kate Middleton, formerly the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have changed their social media pages to read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge." To align with her husband's new title, Kate is set to become the Princess of Wales: a title that has not been used since Princess Diana married King Charles in 1981. Out of respect, Camilla chose not to use the title Princess of Wales upon her marriage to Charles in 2005. "It's hard to see it not happening. I'm sure it'll be a bit of a bittersweet moment," a source told <a title="The Telegraph" href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2022/01/09/celebrating-40-project-queen-kate-begins/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Telegraph</a> in January this year of what is expected to be Kate's title. "This is [Diana's] son and his wife, so in some ways, it will be coming full circle – but it will also be a poignant reminder of what we all lost." It's not just senior working royals who will come into new titles, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, three, and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, one, are entitled become Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Current guidelines laid out in 1917 in a Letters Patent by King George V – the Queen's grandfather – say that the children of the sovereign, the children of the sons of the sovereign and the eldest male son of the son of the Prince of Wales would all be titled as prince and princesses. All the children and grandchildren of the current monarch are ultimately bestowed the prince or princess title, but it is unclear if Harry and Meghan will accept the titles for their children – or if Charles will allow it, which, according to <a href="https://honey.nine.com.au/royals/prince-charles-to-deny-prince-harry-meghan-markle-son-archie-royal-title-under-plans-to-slim-down-monarchy-when-he-is-king/7adc0484-6b0b-40ba-bbe3-58f0d4034615" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previous reports</a>, it seems he will not. Lady Louise Windsor has surprising new job

Lady Louise Windsor, one of Queen Elizabeth’s numerous grandchildren, has joined the thousands of young people in a tradition as old as time itself: getting a summer job. Though she might be a royal, the 18-year-old’s new job is quite ordinary, with reports that she is earning £6.83 ($AU 11.68 or $NZ 13.03) at a garden centre. According to The Sun, Lady Louise was spotted by a shopper, pruning and potting plants, as well as greeting customers and serving them behind the till. The shopper described the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, as “modest”, “sweet” and “polite”. “I couldn’t believe it was Lady Louise – I had to look twice,” the shopper told the newspaper. “She is a really modest and sweet young woman who is polite and attentive to customers. She seemed to be loving the job. “You’d never imagine the Queen’s granddaughter would take on a role working behind a till.” It’s believed Lady Louise is working at the garden centre several days a week, with the news coming after a Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed she would be studying English at the University of St Andrew’s after finishing her A-levels in June. Though she is 16th in line for the throne, Lady Louise and her brother, James, don’t use an HRH title, nor are they expected to carry out duties when they’re older. “I am here to kill the Queen”: Crossbow assassin charged

A man from the UK has been charged after storming the grounds of Windsor Castle armed with a crossbow. Jaswant Singh Chail allegedly told a police officer, "I'm here to kill the Queen", before being apprehended and handcuffed. The 20-year-old assailant is being charged under the Treason Act with intending to "injure the person of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, or to alarm her majesty". He has also been charged with threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon. The incident took place at the royal residence west of London on Christmas Day 2021, when the Queen was staying at the castle. Prosecutors allege the former supermarket worker from Southampton in southern England was wearing a hood and a mask and carrying a loaded crossbow with the safety catch off. His attempts to kill the Queen were immediately thwarted and he was taken into police custody. Prosecutor Kathryn Selby said the Supersonic X-Bow weapon allegedly carried by Chail had the potential to cause "serious or fatal injuries". Prosecution lawyers maintain Chail wanted revenge on the British establishment for its treatment of Indians and sent a video to about 20 people claiming he was going to assassinate the Queen. Prosecutors also allege that the man had tried to join the British Army and the Ministry of Defence Police in order to get close to the Royal family to carry out his revenge plan. Charges under the Treason Act of 1842 are rare, with the last person charged and convicted in 1981. The man in question, Marcus Sarjeant, was charged under the act after firing blank shots at the Queen as she rode on horseback in the Trooping the Colour parade in London.
