So that was probably as big a thrill as attending the coronation," Bishop joked.

She went on to tell 7News that the pair were making comments to each other throughout the service, as they pointed out who else was invited to the coronation.

"During the procession, we'd be whispering to each other... I'd say that's the Papua New Guineans and he'd tell me who somebody else was."

"But then as he was singing a hymn, I was very quiet. I didn't want to have my voice heard. That's quite an experience in itself having Lionel Ritchie singing hymns next to you."

Julie said she felt honoured to be invited to the historic ceremony, admitting. "I have never been to anything like this."

"I felt deeply privileged to be invited and to witness the pageantry and the beauty and the religious and historical significance of this service was deeply moving."

"When you're actually there, there was a sense of excitement and anticipation."

Ms Bishop said she arrived about over two hours before the actual service began, with the service itself being two hours long.

"Everybody was feeling a little bit nervous... (But) everything moved perfectly and there were many moving parts and I had a fabulous spot."

"I was in the second row, so just one row back from the aisle. so I was able to have a, a pretty unhindered view of all of the famous faces walking by."

Kyle and Jackie O slam Nova reshuffling "chaos"

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have taken aim at the chaotic Nova reshuffling, openly discussing the radio industry gossip on their own program.

The drama has stemmed from Kate Ritchie's extended absence from Nova coming to a close, which has resulted in the exit of one of Nova's most popular and dedicated on-air talents, Sarah McGilvray.

McGilvray was reportedly "squeezed out" of her position on the Fitzy & Wippa breakfast show to make way for Ritchie upon her return, as she is being drafted as Sarah's replacement.

Fitzy and Wippa, also known as Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli , are reportedly unhappy with the switch as they remain loyal to McGilvray.

Speaking about the changes at Nova on Thursday, Kyle Sandilands expressed sadness that McGilvray - a former producer for Kyle and Jackie O - had been pushed out in the reshuffle.

His co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson also confirmed the long-standing rumour that Ritchie is being replaced on her previous drive time slot by her regular fill-in Ricki-Lee Coulter.

"They're all topsy-turvy over at Nova apparently. All s**t's gone loose over there," Sandilands said at the start of the discussion.

Sandilands added, "I think they're putting that chick from Home and Away [Ritchie] on the breakfast show is what I've heard."

Henderson confirmed it wasn't just a rumour, saying, "Yeah, they are."

The pair continued to speculate back and forth about the reasoning behind the swap, before being censored on air.

Kyle said, "We probably shouldn't even be talking about this on air, but we will 'cause everyone cares about this stuff. I heard that Kate wasn't..."

The live broadcast was then censored by a two-second beep, which was presumably done by a producer for legal reasons.

Sandilands continued, "...show, and Nova had her on a contract and didn't know what to do with her, so a**e-holed Sarah, who's doing a great job, to squeeze Kate in with Fitzy and Wippa - and they weren't a fan of that either."

Henderson interrupted to say "this is getting too gossipy" and "nasty".

Ritchie announced last year she was taking a break from the Kate, Tim & Joel drive time program to focus on her health, but sources at the network said she wouldn't be returning.

Ritchie has remained silent on her return date, despite teasing in January she would be back on air with her co-hosts Creasey and Blackwell in a matter of weeks.

Kate Ritchie taking a break from radio gig

Kate Ritchie has announced she will be stepping back from her drive time radio show.

The 43-year-old presenter said she will be off the air for the remainder of the year, but will return alongside co-hosts Joel Creasey and Tim Blackwell in early 2023.

Kate was busted for drinking and driving in August, and explained that after an "incredibly hectic" year, she needed some time off.

"This past year has been incredibly hectic and full-on for both me and my family," she said.

"I have had much change and increased stress in my life, like many of you, in a short space of time. And it has taken its toll."

"But still I am so proud that our Nova show, with Tim and Joel and the team, is just powering along, and going from strength to strength."

She added, "We love our audience and they seem to put up with us."

"And as you may have guessed, I invest a lot of emotional energy into everything I do, my work, and my family especially, and the last few months I have been working on radio, I've been returning to TV and in my spare time, I even wrote a children's book."

"So, it's simple, like some of you, I imagine, I'm tired and I just need a break for a short while and have more time for me, and for my family, to re-energise."

"I have spoken with the bosses at Nova, and they have graciously agreed that this is a good time to take the break, as we approach the end of the year."

"Nova has been fabulous and understanding, so thank you Nova, and thank you Tim, Joel and the team, and most importantly, thank you to all of our fabulous listeners. I really mean that."

"It's time to recharge the batteries and come back fresh next year. And although it's only for a short time, I will miss you all. I'll see you in the New Year."

Peter Charlton, the chief executive of Nova Entertainment, said of her decision, "Kate is a talented broadcaster and a respected member of the Kate, Tim & Joel and Nova Network team."

"We are very supportive of Kate's decision to take some time for herself and her family. We look forward to welcoming her back in the New Year."

Rumours about Ritchie's future at Nova began swirling in August, after she was charged with drink-driving in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

She was stopped by police for a random breath test in her car at 2:45pm, tested positive by the roadside and was taken to Maroubra Police Station.

There she underwent a secondary breath analysis which returned a positive reading of 0.06 - just over the legal limit.

A NSW Police spokesman said at the time, "She was issued with an infringement notice for the offence of Drive with Low Range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol and issued a Licence Suspension Notice."

Kate Ritchie reveals rude shock on her final day of Home and Away

Kate Ritchie has shared a cheeky treatment she received from a co-star on her final day of filming Home and Away.

Ritchie, who left her role as Sally Fletcher on the Channel 7 soap in 2008 after 20 years, shared that another actor seemed too eager to see her leave.

Speaking on her Nova FM show Kate, Tim and Marty Wednesday evening, she told her co-hosts that a struggle for a pigeon hole ensued on her last day on the set.

“I swear to god, I had not even finished filming my final scene and I go into the green room between scenes … and someone had pulled my name off [the pigeon hole],” Ritchie said.

“I had a good pigeon hole because I’d earnt it. Why Kate Ritchie's childhood story stunned The Project hosts: "It was pretty awful at times"

Former Home And Away star Kate Ritchie has opened up about what it was like to grow up on TV screens across the country, revealing the shocking comments strangers made about her body.

During an interview on The Project, Ritchie discussed teenage body image and revealed how her changing body as a young girl was openly discussed by strangers who would approach her in public.

Ritchie first appeared on Home And Away in 1987 as an eight-year-old girl and continued to star on the show for the next two decades.

“Well I have to admit it was pretty awful at times, but I think after 30 years I’m so used to people commenting on my body,” Ritchie said.

“I’m sure this isn’t too crass, but I kind of grew overnight and I’ve had people since then, I go and buy sausages at the butcher or I go to the hairdresser and people tell me they remember the day when Sally Fletcher grew breasts.”

While Ritchie’s revelation drew gasps from the rest of The Project panel, the former soap star said the scrutiny made her strong and she has since learnt that “we shouldn’t be at war with our bodies”.

“The self-consciousness I’m detached from, but I do think that it has affected me in some ways,” she said.

After leaving the show in 2008, Ritchie moved into the radio industry, forging a successful career on Nova’s Kate, Time and Marty drive show since 2014.

Earlier this month, Ritchie won the Australian Commercial Award for Best Entertainment Presenter.

Speaking to news.com.au, Ritchie said the achievement meant so much because it made her feel accepted in the radio industry.

“It does mean a lot because it’s been a period of reshaping my career in some ways,” she said.

Ritchie is also a children’s book author and is currently promoting her second book It’s Not Scribble to Me.

How Kate Ritchie avoids the Easter bloat

We’re all guilty of overindulging over Easter with family and friends – it can be hard to resist all the delicious chocolate and traditional feasts.

But it’s good to know even celebrities aren’t immune to a bit of a blowout during the festive Easter celebrations.

Former Home and Away actress Kate Ritchie has shared what is usually planned for the Easter long weekend festivities in her household.

“Good Friday sees us following the tradition of a non-meat menu, with an abundance of seafood. The rest of the weekend has more of an 'anything goes' approach, with a delicious, more formal roast lunch on Easter Sunday. This is usually (hopefully) followed by a game of cards on the floor, and a nap. It really is delightful!” she revealed in a column for 9Honey.

A post shared by Kate Ritchie (@kateritchieofficial) on Apr 15, 2017 at 4:45pm PDT

Now that Kate’s a mum to 3-year-old Mae, gone are the days of Easter long weekend’s away with the girls indulging in a cheeky glass of red wine or two.

“Due to a new-found level of family responsibilities during this special time, our Easter indulgences have evolved too. Concerns are less about how many glasses of red we drank over those four days, and much more about how many wedges of stinky cheese we ate and how many chocolate eggs we managed to steal from the stockpile,” the Nova 969 radio star admitted.

“It is very easy to convince yourself that the more bunny ears you inhale the less the children do, and in turn you're doing everyone a favour. But, with that attitude the ‘post-Easter slump’ can leave you feeling a little worse for wear.”

So how does Kate refrain from overindulging during annual celebrations like this and avoid Easter bloat?

Tip 1: Spruce up your water

Drinking water doesn’t have to be boring. Giving it some sparkle is as easy as serving it up in a nice jug or dispenser and some lovely glasses.

“I always have glasses and a jug of sparkling water dressed with lemon and mint sitting front and centre for everyone. It reminds me to rehydrate, especially when it's easy to forget over those cooler Easter weekends,” the 39-year-old shares.

Tip 2: Slow down!

Just because there’s chocolate everywhere you look, it doesn’t mean you need to indulge. While this can be a test of your restraint, you’ll be proud of yourself in the long run.

“When there's chocolate all around it is so easy to follow suit and blow out just because the kids are,” Kate says. “However, there is no need to embark on a chocolate eating Olympics as though you'll never have the chance to snack on sugar ever again. There will be plenty more opportunities to indulge in the future and another Easter on the horizon before you know it. So, take my advice and slow down!”

Do you tend to overindulge during the Easter long weekend? Or do you have tips on how to avoid the Easter bloat? Share with us in the comments below.
