Nine star Liz Hayes calls it quits after 44 years

Veteran journalist and news reporter Liz Hayes is bidding farewell to Channel Nine after an incredible 44-year run, leaving fans and colleagues alike in shock.

The iconic reporter, known for her work on shows like 60 Minutes and Today, announced she'll be "pursuing new opportunities" outside the network in 2025.

Hayes, who's been a fixture on Aussie TV screens for decades, joined Nine way back in 1981 with nothing but "a notebook and a typewriter". She quickly made her mark, working her way up from a reporter on 9News to co-hosting Today with Steve Liebmann for a solid decade. But it was her role as a correspondent on 60 Minutes that really cemented her status as a journalism legend.

Throughout her career, Hayes has covered everything from US presidential elections to natural disasters across the globe. She's sat down with prime ministers, Hollywood A-listers, music legends and world-class athletes. But it wasn't just the glitz and glamour that defined her work. Hayes had a knack for shining a light on everyday people caught up in extraordinary situations.

In recent years, Hayes fronted Under Investigation with Liz Hayes, a show that dug into unsolved crimes and complex social issues. Her work on the program even snagged her the 2024 Media Diversity Australia Award for her efforts.

Reflecting on her time at Nine, Hayes said, "When I arrived at Nine I had little more than a notebook and a typewriter, but like my new and far more experienced colleagues, I carried with me an enormous passion for telling stories. I was blessed. I had found my tribe."

But Hayes isn't calling it quits on storytelling quite yet. She's made it clear that she'll "continue to tell" good stories, hinting at exciting new ventures on the horizon. While she's leaving her full-time gig at Nine, the network has said she'll still be part of the family, popping up for special stories and events.

Nine's Director of TV, Michael Healy, sang Hayes' praises in a statement. “Liz Hayes is an Australian television legend and has dedicated most of her career to Nine," Healy said. "She will leave an undeniable legacy.

“Her many accomplishments speak volumes about the type of journalist she is – tenacious, a truth seeker, and above all, a storyteller. I’d like to recognise Liz for the impact she has had on Australian journalism and thank her for all she has done for Nine over the past 44 years.

“We know Liz’s next chapter will be just as successful as her last, and she has our full support.”

As for that next chapter, Liz is keeping her cards close to her chest. But with a book on Australian astronomer Trevor Barry in the works and a promise of more stories to come, it's clear she's not ready to hang up her microphone just yet.

"This is not goodbye," Hayes assured her fans. "This is the beginning of what I see as a great, new, exciting chapter in my life. I hope you'll come along for the ride."

Images: Nine \ Instagram

Teen photographer who shared special moment with Kate Middleton dies

Liz Hatton, a teenager who inspired Kate Middleton while pursuing her photography bucket list, has sadly passed away following her battle with a rare form of cancer.

The 17-year-old made headlines around the world when she was photographed embracing the Princess of Wales during a private meeting inside Windsor Castle in early October.

Liz's mother, Vicky Robayna, confirmed that the teenager had passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Robanya wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that Liz had "remained determined to the last" and was still making plans for her future on Tuesday.

"We are so very proud of the kindness, empathy and courage she has shown in the last year," she wrote.

Liz began pursuing her photography bucket list in January after being diagnosed with desmoplastic small round cell tumour, a rare and aggressive form of cancer and given between six months and three years to live by doctors.

She had dropped her formal studies in favour of following her dream of photography, and in October, she was invited by the Prince of Wales to take photos at an investiture.

The teenager also had a 30-minute personal chat with the royal couple, and her photos at Windsor Castle were later published by Kensington Palace.

In a personal message, the Prince and Princess of Wales described Liz as a "talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both".

Liz's mother also wrote that not only was she "a phenomenal photographer, she was the best human and the most wonderful daughter and big sister we could ever have asked for".

"No-one could have fought harder for life than she did," she said.

"There is a gaping Liz-shaped hole in our lives that I am not sure how we will ever fill."

She also thanked everyone who helped the teenager fulfil her dreams in her final months, and for those who supported her work.

"You ensured Liz's last two months were her very best. She flew high until the end."

There is currently no standard treatment for the type of cancer Liz had, and no charity specialising in the disease in the UK.

Roboyna said that there were "two last favours to ask", and they included sharing one of Liz's photos in tribute and "help us with a mission to raise money to fund research into Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour".

"Whether you can share, donate or raise funds – please be our village one more time," her mother said.

"Let's make this the last item on her bucket list and make sure other families don't face a similar fate."

Image: Kensington Palace/ X

Shane Warne’s dad takes aim at Warnie series’ false narrative

Keith Warne, father of the late cricket legend Shane Warne, has offered his take on Channel 9’s Warnie miniseries.

A large number of viewers took issue with the first episode, voicing their displeasure across social media for all to see, and while Keith’s thoughts weren’t quite as vehement, they didn’t shine the most positive light on the series, or paint an accurate picture on Warnie’s behalf.

The Warne patriarch shared his thoughts with entertainment reporter Peter Ford ahead of the first episode going to air, and Ford went on to discuss that take with 3AW’s Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen.

“I took a call last night from Keith just before it went to air last night,” Ford told the hosts, before going on to share that the previous week, he’d reported that “Keith and Shane’s brother Jason had gone in for a private screening” and had come out both “pleasantly surprised” and “quite happy with what they had seen.”

Ford explained that that was what he’d been “told by people who were there”, but in talking to Keith the night before, he’d learned that that was “not an accurate description of their reaction to it.”

“Keith is a very astute man, he knows it’s entertainment, he knows it’s not a documentary, but he feels that they missed out on a few key things,” he continued.

“The main thing is he feels they didn’t portray the growth of Shane from the larrikin teenager to the mature adult who wanted to make a difference in the world.”

Ford then shared that Keith felt “there were some inaccuracies that didn’t reflect well on Shane”, in particular the cricket great’s relationship with Liz Hurley.

Shane’s 10-year marriage to Simone Callahan ended in 2005 when the couple announced their divorce, and he met Liz in 2010 at a horse racing event, with the two revealing their engagement in 2011.

They were together for three years, but ultimately called off their engagement - and their relationship - in 2013.

And while their romance was “correct”, according to Keith via Ford, “in the show it’s presented that he did that during the time he was still married to Simone and Keith is quite adamant there was a distance between those two things happening.

“He’s not angry, he’s just disappointed by the result.”

Images: Getty

The season finale for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! saw three final celebs compete for the crown, former netball great Liz Ellis, Olympic boxing champ Harry Garside and reality star Aesha Scott.

Liz Ellis walked away as queen of the jungle, with Harry placing second and Aesha third.

Ellis will receive $100,000 for her chosen charity, Share The Dignity.

She shared her surprise at winning the competition, "Oh my gosh. Finally, I'm a queen!”

Host Julia Morris revealed that the votes between Liz and Harry were “extremely close”.

Speaking of her charity, Liz shared, "They worked with 3,000 charities to provide much-needed period products to women who are homeless, fleeing domestic violence or who are living right on the poverty line or struggling to make ends meet.”

“It helps them and their family get through and allows them to be dignified. And you hear about women and their stories.”

Earlier in the finale, Liz had told her fellow campers that she’d entered the jungle only expecting to last a few days but had instead walked away with a life-changing experience.

Emotions flowed as each contestant was surprised by a loved one, Aesha with her partner, Harry with his father and Liz with her husband and children.

Aesha and Liz were brought to tears.

“My darlings. ... Oh, my God. Look at you. I‘m so happy you’re here. This is the best day ever,” Liz said as she hugged her son and daughter.

The finale marks a dramatic season of I’m A Celeb, returning to production after a three-year absence due to Covid.

Dr Chris Brown made a cheeky reference to Kerri-Anne Kennerley’s abrupt departure following her feud with MAFS’ Domenica Calarco, “14 celebrities went into the jungle this season... and 13 of them pushed themselves to the limit.”

Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins was at the centre of one of the most tough-to-watch scenes in the shows history, when a python bit him on the hand during a challenge. Cummins later joked to news.com.au that the animal attack had been a “beautiful moment.”

It was also emotional for the hosts as this year’s season served as an extended goodbye for Brown.

"Revolving door of chaos": UK PM quits after 44 days in office

Liz Truss has resigned as UK Prime Minister after just 44 days in the top job.

Ms Truss was sworn in as prime minister on September 6 by Queen Elizabeth II. She has now become the shortest-serving prime minister in Britain's history. Previously, this record was held by George Canning, who served for 119 days in 1827.

She explained that she tried to deliver on the "vision for a low-tax high-growth economy" but was unable to continue her role following pressure from members of her party.

A leadership election will be held in the next week to find Truss’ replacement but until then she will remain Prime Minister.

Speaking in front of Number 10 Downing Street, Ms Truss accepted that she was unable to deliver her promises as leader of the Conservatives Party.

Opposition Leader Keir Starmer said the Tory "soap opera" was damaging the country's economy and the issue needed to be sorted.

"We can't have a revolving door of chaos," he told the BBC.

"We can't have another experiment at the top of the Tory party.

"There is an alternative and that's a stable Labour government and the public are entitled to have their say, and that's why there should be a general election."

Liz Truss’ Full Speech

“I came into office at a time of great economic and international instability,” she said.

“Families and businesses were worried about how to pay their bills.

“Putin's illegal war in Ukraine threatens the security of our whole continent.

“And our country had been held back for too long by low economic growth.

“I was elected by the Conservative Party with a mandate to change this.

“We delivered on energy bills and on cutting national insurance.

“And we set out a vision for a low tax, high growth economy – that would take advantage of the freedoms of Brexit.

“I recognise though, given the situation, I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party.

“I have therefore spoken to His Majesty The King to notify him that I am resigning as Leader of the Conservative Party.

“This morning I met the Chair of the 1922 Committee Sir Graham Brady.

“We have agreed there will be a leadership election to be completed in the next week.

“This will ensure we remain on a path to deliver our fiscal plans and maintain our country's economic stability and national security.

“I will remain as Prime Minister until a successor has been chosen.

“Thank you.”

Image: Getty

Who is Liz Truss, the new UK prime minister?

The United Kingdom now has its third ever female prime minister. Liz Truss was elected as leader by grassroots members of the Conservatives to lead the party – and hence the nation – on a platform that positioned her as the continuity candidate from Boris Johnson.

This result will be celebrated on all sides of British politics.

Members of the Conservative party – the approximately 180,000 people who elected the new leader – will be delighted that the continuity candidate got over the line. Similarly, strategists for the opposition parties – Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Scottish National Party – will also be delighted that the continuity candidate got over the line. In electing Truss as leader, Conservative members have increased their party’s chances of losing the next general election.

This is because Truss essentially offers more of the same. She steps into 10 Downing Street at a moment when the views of the Conservative party and the experience of the wider electorate are diverging. As Britons find themselves in the throes of a cost-of-living crisis, the leadership debates between Truss and her main opponent, Rishi Sunak, were focused on the extent of tax cuts, weakening the public purse when it is needed most. This was music to the ears of the older and wealthier Conservative members, but a case of “same world, different planet” for the wider electorate.

To add insult to injury, Truss disparaged the idea of support for struggling Britons as “handouts”. Furthermore, her views on British workers as “lazy” resurfaced during the leadership contest. This is unlikely to endear her to those one-time Labour voters in the 45 so-called “Red Wall” seats in northern England that switched to the Johnson-led Conservatives at the 2019 election.

Newly-minted Conservative MPs in such seats fear that, faced with this disdain, their new supporters may switch back to Labour.

Additionally, as someone who symbolises continuity with the Johnson government, Truss may struggle in the 20 so-called “Blue Wall” seats in southern England. Former Conservative voters switched to the Liberal Democrats in three recent by-elections in such seats, heaping pressure on Johnson to resign earlier this year.

Conservative MPs in this part of England fear that voters who were switched off by Johnson’s political tone and governing style, may not warm to Truss’s embrace of the same tactics: hostility to the EU, goading the French, and waging a “war on woke”.

North of the border, Truss’s embrace of all things British, from her famous support for British cheese to the self-conscious adoption of Thatcherite imagery, will consolidate support for Scottish independence. There are only six Conservative MPs in Scotland, but having Truss as leader won’t make the job of retaining seats at the next election any easier.

Given these strategic perils, why was she elected? A YouGov opinion poll found a plurality of Conservative members did not want to see Johnson ousted from Number 10, despite his record in government. A gulf has emerged between grassroots Conservatives and the wider electorate. If Truss emulates Johnson too closely – as the party seems to want – it is the party that will pay the price.

What does this mean for Australia?

Truss will find a series of pressing yet complex issues in her in-tray. The foremost of these will be the cost-of-living crisis. This will intensify as winter approaches and energy price caps are lifted, leaving many struggling to heat their homes and buy food. The industrial action witnessed during the summer, will intensify.

The next issue is the war in Ukraine. Part of the Russian global strategy is to hope that western states, not least the UK, tire in their support for Ukraine. This will not happen under Truss. She is a firm supporter of Ukraine and can be expected to retain the UK’s current posture of support.

Truss is also the continuity candidate as far as Anglo-Australian relations are concerned. Like Johnson, Truss is a big fan of Australia (Dan Tehan’s uncomfortable chair during free trade negotiations notwithstanding). As the British author of the free trade agreement (FTA) between Australia and the UK, this form of bilateral relationship will only strengthen. Being very favourably disposed to Australia means the commitment to AUKUS – the strategic alliance between Australia, the UK and the US – will remain.

Of course, Johnson had an ideological confrère in Scott Morrison as his Australian counterpart. Truss will not enjoy such an ideological affinity with Anthony Albanese or Foreign Minister Penny Wong.

Nevertheless, the ALP view of the Australia-UK FTA is broadly favourable, with perhaps some stronger provisions for workers’ rights built in. Less is known about ALP views towards AUKUS, or whether the Australian government will choose British over US submarine designs (or whatever there might be on offer in the interim).

Questions remain about whether, like her predecessor, Truss believes in herself more than in Britain. Given her ability to hold more than one political position with great conviction (she started out as a Liberal Democrat and voted to remain in the EU) it might be that we have a new leader more interested in their own CV than the common good.

Boris Johnson damaged trust in politics, but Truss may not be equipped to address that particular issue. Her advisers will be tempted to consider a quick election – giving her a spurious “mandate” that the Westminster system doesn’t require – and there are lessons in what happened to Theresa May when that temptation arose.

Yet for all his faults, Johnson bequeaths Truss an imposing 73-seat majority. But Truss must tread carefully: she’s the best hope of ousting the Conservatives that the opposition has had in many years.

This article originally appeared on The Conversation.

Image: Getty

The truth behind Liz Cambage’s exit

Former Opals captain Jenna O'Hea has revealed the details behind the comment that forced Liz Cambage to leave the basketball team.

Cambage pulled out of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics after citing mental health reasons which allegedly occurred during training.

She had also allegedly told Nigerian players to “go back to their third world country” following a fight in July last year.

Speaking to Offsiders host Kellie Underwood, O’Hea confirmed the exact details that occurred which saw Cambage leave.

“That is all 100 per cent correct,” O’Hea confirmed.

However, O’Hea asked the media to focus on the players who are dedicating their effort to represent Australia.

“Everyone has done more than enough (to try and keep Cambage playing for Australia). We have sacrificed a lot to try and keep her in the program. You know, she doesn’t want to be here anymore and that’s her choice and we need to move on without her.”

She concluded that Cambage would not play for Australia ever again and said she tried to show her the support she needed.

Following O’Hea revelations, Cambage responded by tweeting: “The truth will always come to light, and it ain’t even dawn yet.”

After allegedly making the comment last year, Cambage made an Instagram video calling out the “fake news and the lies”.

“I’m pretty annoyed at all the fake news and the lies I’m seeing floating around in news articles and being shown and being asked about,” she said.

“Yeah, things got heated in the Nigeria game. There was a physical altercation and there were words exchanged but I’m hearing things that aren’t true at all, flying around from people in Australia and America which is crazy.

“Everything that happened and everything that was said is on film. I know what happened and I do not appreciate the lies and people constantly trying to tear me down. Hating on me won’t bring you love, at all.”

Image: Instagram

"RIP my beloved Lionheart": Liz Hurley's tribute to Shane Warne

Shane Warne’s former fiancée Liz Hurley penned an emotional tribute following the news of his shocking death.

The legendary cricketer, 52, died of a suspected heart attack on March 4 in a luxury villa on the Thailand holiday island of Koh Samui.

Taking to Instagram, Liz shared cherished photos of the pair at the time of their engagement along with a heartfelt message.

“I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever,” she wrote.

“RIP my beloved Lionheart.”

Her son Damien also took to social media to pay tribute to Warnie who was a “father figure” to him.

“I’m still trying to wrap my head around this… SW was a father figure to me for most of my formative years and was truly one the best men I’ve ever known. My heart is broken. Thinking of and sending love to all SW’s family,” he wrote along a series of family photos.

Shane and Liz first met at Goodwood Racecourse in 2010 as their relationship blossomed into a whirlwind romance.

The couple were engaged a year later when Shane proposed to the English actress on James Packer’s boat off the coast of Spain in 2011.

Despite being “madly in love” the pair did not make it down the aisle and split up in 2013.

Hurley was just one of hundreds of high-profile figures to share their love and respect for Warne, who will receive a State Funeral in Victoria.

“Victoria has lost an icon. Australia has lost a legend. And the entire cricket world is mourning the loss of the King,” Victorian Premier Dan Andrews wrote.

“Shane Warne didn't just inspire a cricketing generation - he defined it…To us, he was the greatest - but to his family, he was so much more. Our hearts are breaking for Shane's family and friends - and they are in the thoughts of all Victorians.”

Prime Minister Scott Morrison also issued a statement upon hearing the shocking news.

"We have lost one of Australia's greatest cricketers. We are bewildered by this sad and sudden loss.”

Opposition leader Anthony Albanese also issued a statement reading: “He was an artist, he was a magician with a ball in his hand, he was an Australian character larger than life in the way he conducted himself, he was a larrikin character there's no doubt about that - it is shocking news he has passed.

“To all of his children, to his many, many friends who will be mourning him today, I pass on my sincere condolences.”

Fellow cricketers, who played the field with Warnie also sent out messages of disbelief.

“Hard to put this into words. I first met him when I was 15 at the Academy. He gave me my nickname,” former cricketer now coach Ricky Ponting wrote.

“We were teammates for more than a decade, riding all the highs and lows together.

"Through it all he was someone you could always count on, someone who loved his family someone who would be there for you when you needed him and always put his mates first.

“The greatest bowler I ever played with or against.

“RIP King. My thoughts are with Keith, Bridgette, Jason, Brooke, Jackson and Summer.”

“Shocked, stunned & miserable…,” former captain of the Indian national team Sachin Tendulkar wrote on Twitter.

“Will miss you Warnie. There was never a dull moment with you around, on or off the field. Will always treasure our on field duels & off field banter. You always had a special place for India & Indians had a special place for you.

“Gone too young!”

Retired cricketer Glenn McGrath was “devastated” when he heard the crushing news about his “great mate”.

“Just absolutely devastated today,” he began.

“Warnie was larger than life. I thought nothing could ever happen to him. He lived more in his life than most people would live in 20.

“He was the ultimate competitor. He thought the game was never lost, that he could turn it around & bring us to victory, which he did so many times.

“I think he lived his life the same way. There seemed to be never a dull moment. He was a great mate & a loving father. He loved his kids so much & my thoughts are with Brooke, Jackson & Summer.

“My thoughts are also with Keith, Bridgette & Jason. Rest In Peace my good mate, there’ll never again be anyone like you.”

Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger took to Twitter and wrote: "I'm so saddened by the sudden death of Shane Warne. He brought such joy to the game and was the greatest spin bowler ever," he wrote.

Image: Instagram

Liz Hayes breaks down after revealing her father died in extraordinary hospital blunder

Renowned 60 Minutes journalist Liz Hayes suffered an emotional breakdown as she revealed her father died due to a major hospital mishap.

Hayes father Brian Ryan, 88, passed away on September 11 last year as a result of a “catastrophic” stroke after he wasn’t given his prescribed medication for eight days.

“I couldn't pretend that this was somebody else's story,” Hayes said on the Channel Nine program on Sunday night.

“He said he was always fearful something like that would happen. I instinctively knew that what I was witnessing was wrong.”

Mr Ryan had developed pneumonia last year before being taken to a local hospital in his hometown of Manning River, on the NSW mid-north coast.

He was then transferred to another hospital where he successfully beat the infection.

“In the country I think it is accepted that the medical services aren't like the city. But it is also trusted that there would be great care, dignity and as many resources as could possibly be found in the country,” she said.

But it didn’t end there, as on September 7, just a few short hours after Hayes said goodnight, Mr Ryan suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital.

“At two in the morning, Dad was wheeled into an empty room in a ward on the top floor,” she said.

“Other than his family, no one came to see him or us. We were standing there thinking ‘something must happen now’, you don't just park a patient and don't tell somebody.

“His notes were just plonked on the end of the bed and that's when I saw the terrible truth.”

Hayes said it was then that she found out that her father - who had a heart condition - hadn't been given his prescribed blood thinner tablets, Apixaban, for eight days.

“Dad's medical notes states that the doctor from the private hospital came to the emergency department to advise that he hadn't been given the critical medication,” she said.

“If that hadn't had happened to dad I feel confident he wouldn't have suffered that stroke and he would still be here.

“I can't believe something that simple could go wrong,” she said through tears.

“Of all the medications not to give him, that was the most important medication for him to have.”

Hayes then shared a video she took on the day her dad passed away, as she sat by his side while he laid in bed.

“This is my dad. We were to take him home today, but we're not, because of what's been called ‘an error’,” she told the camera.

“Dad is now dying because of some terrible mistakes that were made with his medication.”

The hospital launched an investigation which resulted in discovering the doctor had prescribed the wrong medication when he was admitted.

Hayes then decided to look into the matter herself, and discovered the rural hospital only had one doctor on the ward.

“Doctors were brought in often from outside of the area. And when the lights went out, so too did the doctor,” she said.

“On the night of dad's stroke, the doctor on duty wasn't actually in the hospital - but was on call.”

Hayes said investigating her father's horrific death was like experiencing “a very personal trauma”.

“You're trying to walk through this pool of grief but there's a journalist always inside you going ‘this is just wrong’,” she said.

Hayes revealed that after launching her own investigation, dozens of doctors came forward saying they wanted to expose the state of the hospital but were afraid of the consequences.

NSW Shadow Minister for Health Ryan Park said rural public hospitals are begging for more resources.

“This is Australia in 2020. We should pride ourselves on having universal access to healthcare,” Park said.

“At the moment, a postcode is determining the level of access to healthcare that you get, and that's simply not right.

“If some of these stories were coming out of a major Sydney hospital, there'd be a riot on the street and there would be action within the day.”

Shane Warne opens up on intense relationship with Liz Hurley: “She was great”

Australian cricketer Shane Warne has opened up about her intense, fiery relationship with actress Liz Hurley.

Warne dated Hurley from 2011 to 2013 after meeting at the races in England and admitted while he was used to the scrutiny of Australian media, there was no preparing for the pressure of UK tabloids.

The Australian leg-spinner says the paparazzi frenzy in the UK was unlike anything he’d experienced and he felt like he was constantly under a microscope.

“When I got together with Elizabeth, that was really odd because I had the sporting media that would follow you then I suppose the entertainment media collide, so everyday, anywhere we went we were followed by anywhere between six to 10 paparazzi photographers that would run you off the road,” Warne said on the You Cannot Be Serious podcast with former AFL Footy Show star Sam Newman, AFL journalist Mike Sheahan and Don Scott.

“They would follow you — stop you, two cars in front of you, make you react … my kids in the car were scared one day too. It was ridiculous.

“Mainly here in Melbourne and it was more intense in the UK.

“Little things like you’d walk out of the house and there’d be six photographers there and I’d have my tracky pants on and a T-shirt and suddenly the next day all the papers would critique you and you’re going, ‘What?’ Who gives a s***, really.

“That was sort of weird but we used to laugh about it. Elizabeth laughed about it, I laughed about it, but it was quite a fun time.”

Warne says the two hit it off instantly when they met at Goodwood Racecourse and revealed he was pretty chuffed when he won the attention of Hurley.

“I was pretty happy with myself, I played it calmly and nicely,” Warne said of their initial meeting on the podcast.

“We crossed paths and hit it off straight away.

“She was lovely, she was fantastic.

“She’s still a very good friend, we still speak all the time. She’s great.”

In his book No Spin, Warne revealed he and the couple still speak all the time.

He said there was no “clear reason” as to why their relationship ended in December, 2013, but it was clear Hurley’s time was completely taken up by her landing a new role on TV series The Royals.

“The more you’re apart, the more you ask questions,” Warne wrote.

“I got jumpy about the time Elizabeth still spent with Hugh Grant … He is her best friend but they saw each other more when I wasn’t around so, well, you know.”

Scroll through the gallery to see Liz Hurley and Shane Warne together.
