Century-old Anzac memorial damaged
<p>A century-old Anzac memorial has been damaged in northern New South Wales, prompting a police appeal for information from the public. </p>
<p>Police were told on Thursday that the marble statue, depicting a soldier, in Walgett Memorial Park, had suffered some damage.</p>
<p>Authorities found the statue's arm had been damaged and the marble rifle missing.</p>
<p>It's believed the statue was damaged between Monday February 10th and Thursday February 13th.</p>
<p>The memorial statue was originally imported to the regional town from France in 1922.</p>
<p>Anybody with dashcam footage, CCTV, or information on the vandalism, is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.</p>
