Allen’s bring back discontinued old-school lollies

Their fate was sealed in 2004 when Allen’s announced it was ditching Jelly Tots and Tangy Tots from the shelves, but due to successful social campaign on Facebook, Australia’s largest confectionary manufacturer has caved to pressure and announced they’re bringing back the family favourites back.

In a statement Allen’s says the two lollies will come back with no artificial colours (so we were eating artificial colours before?) and with portion advice on the pack to better help customers manage their energy intake.

“Treats are OK, in moderation. It’s important to understand portions, so that you can make good decisions when it comes to the foods you eat,” said practising dietitian and Allen’s spokeswoman Nicole Senior.

Allen’s new Jelly Tots and Tangy Tots will be in stores in Australia from August 2015. Now let’s bring back Spearmint Leaves!
