Cheese fondue

<p>Looking for something delicious and different to cook for dinner? Try this simple old-school favourite.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ingredients:</span></p> <ul> <li>1 cup white wine</li> <li>1 garlic clove, crushed</li> <li>1 2/3 cups gruyere cheese, grated</li> <li>1 2/3 cups cheddar cheese, grated</li> <li>1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil</li> <li>1/2 cup mascarpone</li> <li>1 to 2 tablespoons kirsch</li> <li>Wood-fired bread, toasted or chargrilled, cut into pieces</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Method:</span> </p> <ol> <li>Place wine and garlic in a saucepan over medium-low heat and cook for five to six minutes until reduced by half. Add gruyere and cheddar and melt, stirring occasionally, until smooth and combined. </li> <li>Meanwhile, brush bread with oil and chargrill until crisp and golden.</li> <li>When you're ready to serve, stir the mascarpone into the fondue, add the kirsch to taste and enough boiling water to make a loose, smooth sauce.</li> </ol> <p>Note: As well as bread you might want to also offer other things for dipping such as prawns or broccoli. </p> <p><em>Image: Getty</em></p>
