Brad Pitt is set to make his formula one debut at the Silverstone Grand Prix for his upcoming F1 movie that is co-produced by British F1 Driver, Lewis Hamilton.

News that the Hollywood heartthrob will drive an adapted F2 car as part of his role prompted a hilarious response from snubbed rookie Colton Herta, who was denied a super-licence last year because he didn’t have enough points.

“Brad Pitt got a super license before me. Tough,” he tweeted in response to the news.

“You're not experienced enough mate! 😂,” another user jokingly replied.

Brad Pitt got a super license before me. Schumacher’s family suing German magazine over fake interview

Michael Schumacher’s family is preparing to take legal action against German tabloid magazine Die Aktuelle, for publishing an AI-generated “interview” with the star.

The publication has been slammed for using Michael’s face on their April 15 front cover, promoting the piece as “the first interview” since the star’s skiing accident in December 2013.

“No meagre, nebulous half-sentences from friends. But answers from him! By Michael Schumacher, 54!” read the text in the magazine.

“It sounded deceptively real,” they added in the strapline, which was the only indicator that the piece was fake.

The “interview” included quotes that insensitively described Schumacher’s recovery, following the accident where he suffered a serious brain injury.

“I was so badly injured that I lay for months in a kind of artificial coma, because otherwise my body couldn’t have dealt with it all,” the quote read.

“I’ve had a tough time but the hospital team has managed to bring me back to my family,” they added.

It was only at the end of the article that the publication revealed that they used Character.ai, an AI chatbot, to create the interview.

A spokesperson for Schumachers confirmed their intention to take legal action against Die Aktuelle to Reuters and ESPN.

This isn’t the first time Schumacher’s family have taken action against Die Aktuelle.

In 2015, Michael’s wife, Corinna Schumacher filed a lawsuit against the magazine after they used Corinna’s picture with the headline: “Corinna Schumacher – a new love makes her happy.”

The story was actually about their daughter, Gina, but the lawsuit was dismissed.

Image: Getty Images

F1 legend shares rare update Michael Schumacher

Formula 1 icon Eddie Jordan has shared a health update about his close friend Michael Schumacher, saying the motorsport legend is “there, but not there” as mystery continues to surround his health.

Schumacher, 54, has not been seen or heard from for nearly ten years after his horror ski crash in 2013.

He was left with a severe brain injury and in a medically induced coma.

Mystery surrounds his condition as his family has imposed a strict “family only” rule on who can visit him.

It came as Michael’s son Mick followed in his dad’s footsteps into F1.

Unfortunately, 23-year-old Mick struggled and lost his race seat at the end of 2022 after a series of crashes for the Haas team.

Eddie was denied a visit to see Michael but has been in contact with Mick.

The F1 star said his “love” for the seven-time world champion “still lasts and will always do so while I’m able to draw breath.” when speaking to sports betting firm OLBG.

Last year, he revealed his son Mick had reached out to him.

“As far as I’m concerned, I was touched by it and the reason I was touched by it was because it can’t be easy knowing that your father is not able to be part of the family, he’s there but he’s not there,” Jordan said.

Jordan revealed that Mick spoke highly of his father while he was enduring his own struggles in F1.

“It touched me because I felt so much about Michael, I went out of my way to find him, give him his first chance in Spa, didn’t last very long but that love for him still lasts and will always do so while I’m able to draw breaths,” Eddie said.

Mick was dropped by Haas in favour of veteran driver Nico Hulkenberg for 2023 and is now a reserve driver at Mercedes.

Mick will be backing up Sir Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, potentially stepping in for them if they have to miss a race.

Eddie believes Mick has it in him to find his way back into a full-time race seat.

“He’s been dropped for somebody else, and that’s a tough decision, he has another fight to come back and to make his name, climb up that ladder again,” Eddie said.

“I’m quite sure he will do it.”

Jordan also revealed Michael named his son after racing champion Mick Doohan, saying Mick was given his name “as a mark of respect” to Doohan.

“Mick Schumacher isn’t named after his dad like a lot of people seem to think,” he said.

“Mick Schumacher is named after a person who his father, Michael, was in total awe of, a sportsman who had won five world titles back to back with Honda.

“And that is no other than Mick Doohan.

“As a mark of respect, Michael Schumacher called his son Mick.”

Last year, Jordan revealed that Michael’s wife denied him permission to visit Schumacher after his horror skiing accident.

His wife Corinna keeps his health journey a closely guarded secret.

Corinna prefers to treat her husband privately at their home in Geneva, Switzerland, with ex-Ferrarri boss Jean Todt, one of the only people allowed to see him outside his immediate family.

Jordan said he contacted Corinna, who was once the girlfriend of his team’s driver Heinz Harold Frentzen.

Jordan told the Irish Daily Mirror, “I reached out and one stage asked was it appropriate and did I think we should go and visit him.

“The answer was no. No visitations for anyone at that moment except the actual direct family.

“However, since then, young Mick Schumacher – Michael’s son – has reached out to me, and he has been extraordinary.”

F1 pioneer passes away

French racing driver and engineer Jean-Pierre Jabouille, who in 1979 gave Renault their first Formula One victory, has died at the age of 80.

The Renault-owned Alpine team has paid tribute to the two-times race winner as a pioneer whose victory at Dijon-Prenois was also the first in Formula One for a car with a turbocharged engine.

The Parisian took only two F1 wins but it was his first at Dijon-Prenois in July 1979 that made his name and ensured he became the toast of France two-and-a-half years after he put the first laps on the Renault RS01 at Silverstone.

Jabouille was a late starter to racing and didn’t make his international single-seater debut until he was 27 years old, when he took part in occasional F2 races in 1969.

Having become a test and development driver with the Société des Automobiles Alpine manufacturer, Jabouille had entered his first Le Mans 24 Hours in 1968, starting a run of 14 appearances at La Sarthe that spanned a quarter of a century.

He was also hired directly by Steve McQueen to be one of the drivers in the classic 1971 Le Mans movie.

“BWT Alpine F1 Team is incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Jean-Pierre Jabouille,” read the moving tribute on the BWT Alpine F1 Instagram post.

“A humble racing driver, brilliant engineer, and a pioneer of our sport. Jean-Pierre was a true racer.

“He spearheaded Renault’s journey into F1 in 1977 with his resilient and dare to do attitude. He was Renault’s first Grand Prix winner in 1979, a landmark moment in Renault’s journey in Formula 1. His determination and dedication to succeed inspired many, and these values remain central to the current team in its now blue colours of Alpine.

“We are where we are today because of Jean-Pierre and his legacy lives on.

“We’d like to extend our most sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

“Merci pour tout, Jean-Pierre.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by BWT Alpine F1 Team (@alpinef1team)

Jabouille was still competing well into his 60s, appearing at a national Gran Turismo level for France, and was still occasionally spotted at Le Mans in recent years – even demonstrating his old Renault F1 cars for his legion of racing fans who will remember his legacy for years to come.

Image: @alpinef1team / Instagram

New mum “refused food” over controversial breastfeeding rule

A new mother of twins was left reeling after not being offered lunch while her child was sick in hospital.

The 37-year-old woman gave birth to her children who had jaundice and was required to express more breast milk.

No matter how hard she tried, the Sydney mother just could not express enough milk for her newborns.

And with twins she knew it was “going to be hell” so she opted for formula to ensure her children were satisfied.

“I wanted to breastfeed so much…I even tried to express and there was nothing. I just couldn’t and I thought ‘I can’t keep doing this – it’s going to be hell with twins’,” she told Kidspot.

Three months later on February 12, the mother was overwhelmed when one of her twins’ temperature soared to 40C from a UTI infection.

The mother rushed her baby to Campbelltown Hospital where she was then admitted to the paediatric ward.

After conducting a series of tests, the worried mother waited anxiously for her results in the same room with another mother who was breastfeeding.

It was then she noticed that the other woman was given food off the trolley and she was completely ignored.

“I saw the food trolley go right past our bed and up and down the hallway, and it never stopped for me, so I thought to myself, ‘What’s going on?’ Why is she not asking me? Does she not know I’m here?’”

Not wanting to cause a problem, the mother opted for some muesli bars she had in her handbag and eventually fell asleep.

The next morning, the mother missed breakfast after sleeping in and decided it was time to say something after not being given lunch, dinner and breakfast.

She approached the front desk and questioned why she was not offered food in the 24 hours she was admitted into hospital.

The mother claims the nurse was embarrassed after saying it was because she was not breastfeeding.

“They only give food if you’re breastfeeding. That’s the rule,” the nurse said.

The nurse eventually came back and apologised and gave her a sandwich, but it was then she realised her child was admitted under private health.

The mother once again confronted the nurse who said it was an “old rule” and nothing could be done to change it.

Eventually, her husband arrived to look after their daughter while she went back home to care for the son. He was also not offered any dinner.

He was given a sandwich and some crackers.

The mother said she felt “shamed” for her decision to opt for formula as she was already struggling with the twins.

She insists that if in the near future they needed a hospital that the family would not go to Campbelltown Hospital.

The hospital issued a statement following the incident insisting that all parents are offered food during their stay.

“The hospital offers sandwiches to all parents during lunch and dinner periods. Sandwiches are also stored in the unit’s refrigerator for use between or after meal times.”

Image: Instagram

Ex-Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has become a dad for the fourth time at the age of 89. His 44-year-old wife Fabiana Flosi gave birth to a baby boy called Ace in just 25 minutes of labour on Thursday.

Grandfather-of-five Ecclestone confirmed the news, saying "We have a son named Ace. I am so proud."

Fabiana said that the birth was "easy".

“It was all so easy. The birth was over after 25 minutes. I thank god.”

The boy is the businessman's first son after having three daughters with his previous partners.

His eldest daughter, Deborah is 65, who was born to his first wife Ivy Bamford. Quite the opposite. I have always been very much in favour. In fact, Lewis’s dad wanted to go into business with me.

“He made some nice rowing machines. I would never even have considered it if I had been anti-black. If the project had been right, I would have done it.

“It’s not my fault I am white, or that I am a little shorter than the next man. I was called Titch at school. I realised I had to do something about it. Black people should look after themselves.

“When I lost my driving licence, I had a black driver, not because he was black, but because I didn’t care whether he was black or white. Michael Schumacher’s former manager reveals F1 driver’s “stupidest decision”

When Michael Schumacher retired from Formula 1, he was untouchable as the greatest champion in the sport’s history.

Five straight championships and seven all up, Schumacher was in a league of his own.

In the 250 races he took part in between 198 and 2006, Schumacher had 68 pole positions, 154 podiums and an astounding 91 wins.

Schumacher was breaking records left right and centre – until he signed on to a three-year deal with Mercedes in 2010.

In his last 58 races over three years, Schumacher claimed just one podium, finishing third behind Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso at the 2012 European Grand Prix, where he was the oldest driver to make a podium since Jack Brabham at the 1970 Grand Prix at the age of 43.

While the end of his career left some of his records under pressure from a driver such as Hamilton, Schumacher’s former manager Willi Weber revealed that he tried to talk Schumacher out of a return in 2010.

“Let’s say, this was, even in hindsight, the stupidest thing he could do,” Weber told Motorsport-Total.com.

“He told me he was bored, he had to drive. Then I say, ‘Michael, what do you want? You can only lose. You can’t win anymore. You won everything. You are the best racer in the world. You stand on the highest pedestal that exists. Pauline Hanson slams China over baby formula shortage

Pauline Hanson has called for exporting baby formula to China to be made illegal, saying she doesn’t “give a damn” about the country and that the focus should be on Australian mothers and children.

The One Nation leader’s comments come after a Sydney woman was found to have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars by exporting stolen formula to China.

Lie Ke, 50, admitted to purchasing and shipping the formula after it had been stolen as part of a shoplifting ring across Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle in 2017 and 2018.

Appearing on Sky News, Hanson believes exporting baby formula overseas should be banned.

“Stop it at the boarders. Make it illegal for anyone to ship baby powder back to China or anywhere else,” she said.

“If it has to be shipped let the company themselves do a deal with China and ship it back to China. But we have to make sure we have enough to supply our own mothers and children in Australia.

“I don’t give a damn about China, I really don’t. I want to make sure that we have what we need in Australia.”

Hanson revealed that she met with mothers who were unable to get their hands on formula for their children because supermarket shelves were wiped clean.

She blasted the practice as “disgusting”.

The politician also spoke about the harsh tariffs China placed on Australian barley, with many assuming is a form of punishment for launching an investigation into the coronavirus pandemic.

“They have been putting their tentacles throughout Australia and their attitude is we’re in a great position in the world for the Chinese to actually have infiltrated Australia more and take over more of Australia and utilise our production of food here and ship it back to their own country,” Ms Hanson said.

“Their attitude was they thought they would actually scare us into threats about barley and about beef and there was talk about the wine, what’s next?

“Well they have had to back-pedal because Morrison didn’t back away from them, for which I am proud of him as prime minister of this country.”

“They can’t just throw their weight around and tell us what to do.”

Mother opens up about horrifying BIG W baby formula fight

A woman who was at the centre of a furious argument over baby formula at Big W that went viral across the country has revealed what happened in the lead up to the heated altercation.

Steph Groen told Yahoo News she was shopping for her three-year-old toddler as well as a clothesline at the Lilydale Big W store in Melbourne on Saturday, when she watched as a couple wearing surgical masks were attempting to buy two tins of baby formula each.

The couple were asked to put the items back once they reached the self-serve checkout kiosk as there is a two-tin limit per customer in place.

From there, an explosive argument erupted.

“Staff approached them and said: ‘You won’t be able to buy that here today as you’ve been seen buying it already’,” Ms Groen recounted.

“They kept arguing and arguing and by this time it had been a good minute or two.

“The other shoppers in front of me had gone through the checkout but they didn’t have a trolley and were just holding items so could walk through.”

Ms Groen continued to watch on as the pair argued with staff but became nervous and anxious, so decided to speak up.

“He was just hassling and hassling the staff and I had enough. I said to him: ‘No, put it back, they said put it back’, and he turned to around and looked me dead in the eye.

“I was a bit scared, he looked crazy. Some infant formula milks contain more sugar than soda drinks new research reveals

Some formula milks have double the sugar per serving than a glass of soda. That was the key finding of our global investigation into the sugar content of infant formula and follow-on milks. But perhaps more shocking is the fact that there are so few regulations in place to control sugar content and to make sure consumers are well informed.

We all love sugar. But too much of the sweet stuff can lead to obesity, type 2 diabetes and dental disease. Our preference for sugary foods stems from our primitive ancestors, who were scavengers and sought out sweet foods for energy. But if we are hardwired to like sweet foods, being fed lots of sugar as babies can increase our desire for sweet things and increase the risk of developing disease in later life.

Breast milk is the recommended source of nutrition for infants, especially during the first six months of life. Although it is sweet and high in energy, the sugar is mainly lactose and the content is specific to the needs of the growing infant. Conversely, infant formula milks have a standardised make-up and contain added sugars such as corn syrup which are added during production and are not found in breast milk. This is bad for babies because high consumption of added sugars may contribute to tooth decay, poor diet and lead to obesity in children.

We investigated the sugar content of 212 commercially available infant formula milk products targeted at infants under three. The products were being sold in supermarkets in 11 countries. We collected data on sugar content from nutrition labels and compared it to average breast milk compositions and sugar content guidelines. We also noted the clarity of the labels and the marketing strategies used on the packaging.

Our findings revealed that over half of the products contained more than 5g of sugar per 100ml. In many cases, the sugar content was over 7.5g per 100ml, which exceeds European parliament recommended levels for infants. For example, we found that a powdered product for infants under six months sold in France contained 8.2g of sugar per 100ml, or nearly two teaspoons, while a ready-to-drink milk formula for infants under 12 months sold in the UK contained 8.1g of sugar per 100ml.

This comes at a time when sugar-sweetened beverages have been subject to widespread taxation to reduce their sugar content due to negative impacts on health. As a result, many formula products included in our study contained almost double the sugar of well known drinks such as Fanta Orange.

Nutritional information

Obtaining information from the labels of these formula products was difficult as the fonts used were small and the facts provided varied between countries. For example, some products listed sugar content per 100g while others listed it per 100kcal. This is despite guidelines, such as those in the UK, which state that values should be expressed as kJ/kcal per 100ml.

There are also codes in place to limit the marketing of infant formula products because they are not the best way to feed a growing baby. But most of these are voluntary codes of practice which manufacturers do not have to abide by.

Even guidelines which are enforced by law can be side-stepped by manufacturers, since they are not strictly monitored and have loopholes. In some cases, manufacturers themselves have even influenced their development.

For exampleit was revealed that the industry has funded research into infant health and has given doctors free formula products. This almost certainly helps ensure that their sale is affected as little as possible by such guidelines. It is possible that the sale of infant formula products has increased worldwide as a result.

The World Health Organization’s International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes stipulates that infant formula products should not be promoted over breastfeeding. In the UK the guidelines state that the labels on products targeted at infants under six months should not include images of infants or any other pictures that idealise their use.

But we found that many of the formulas had labels that included images of infants or cute toys of animals, presumably designed to entice caregivers into buying. Such findings are not unsurprising as there is evidence that harmful marketing strategies have been used extensively by infant formula and follow-on milk manufacturers.

Recommendations

Our findings are alarming, as is the potential negative impact of the high sugar content on the health of babies. We urge parents and caregivers to opt for breast milk whenever possible. However, to help those families unable to breastfeed their babies, we also have two key recommendations for policymakers:

1) Regulate the amount and type of sugar in infant formula products as a matter of urgency. Encourage manufacturers to aim for formulations as close to breast milk as possible. Such regulations could be conducted in a similar way to the taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages which have been implemented across the world.

2) We are also calling for the mandatory disclosure of added sugar by manufacturers and suggest that this could be implemented alongside the introduction of a clear front-of-pack labelling system. Such disclosures and clear labelling could aid consumers to make informed choices about what products they purchase.

Written by Gemma Bridge. “Disgrace”: Shopper outraged over Woolworths’ baby formula rort

An Adelaide man has claimed to have watched on as shoppers rorted Woolworths’ customer limits on baby formula tins, collecting “over 100 cans” from one store.

The man said he saw three people going back and forth from Gilles Plains Woolworths to purchase two tins of baby formula in each transaction and repeating the process until they filled out their trolleys with “over 100 cans”.

“I raised it with multiple staff (managers included) all laughed at it and said there is nothing we can do!” he wrote on a Facebook post Friday alongside pictures of the trolleys. “Disgrace!”

Another shopper took to Woolworths’ Facebook page to raise a similar issue occurring at a Rowville store.

“Just been to Woolies [Stud Park] and watched the revolving door of at least 12 people emptying the A2 baby formula from the shelves,” the shopper wrote.

“Limit of two cans per person is a joke. They fill their cars up until there is none left. You should consider two cans per person per day.”

In October 2018, Woolworths and Coles reverted their baby formula limit back to two tins per transaction following pressure from families.

The retailers had increased the limit to eight due to improvements in supply in the months prior.

A Woolworths spokeperson told Yahoo, “We encourage any parents who find their chosen baby formula is unavailable on the shelves to speak with store management, so we can help get them stock as quickly as possible.”

Michael Schumacher’s former teammate spills on what the F1 legend is really like

A former Ferrari teammate has lifted the lid on what it was like to work alongside Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher.

Rubens Barrichello was Schumacher’s right-hand man for six seasons and explained what it was like working alongside him.

Drivers know there’s a hierarchy within teams and despite being on the same team, drivers can sometimes be competitive with the men they call teammates.

Barrichello says that Schumacher wasn’t always a supportive and open teammate.

“I’ve always made friends and had a great relationship between my teammates. I do (include Michael), but he was never supportive … it’s not the right word. He would never be there to offer help so I never asked because there are teammates to go and ask,” Barrichello said on F1’s Beyond the Grid podcast.

“For example Eddie Irvine, you ask him and he says ‘I don’t know which gear I take that corner’. I got p****d one day because I couldn’t understand how the hell he doesn’t know what gear and he doesn’t really know, he just doesn’t think, he did it naturally.

“So you have to learn people with Michael it was different, he was a bit naive in a way that he worked his way.”

He also spoke about meetings with just Schumacher, even though they were a part of the same team.

“So many times I grabbed my chair because the meeting was already finished and then they started another meeting with just Michael there and I said hmm this is funny.

“I took my chair and I just would sit there, say nothing and just stay there.”

Eventually, Barrichello said that figuring out that the team was essentially Schumacher’s didn’t change his own ambitions towards the championships.

“Eventually I felt that (it was Schumacher’s team), eventually I felt that the team was his,” he said.

“It never dropped my emotions, seeing as I had to overcome my emotions to get better and to race against the best it wasn’t that ‘oh ok this engine was for him and this engine is for Rubens’.

“I think they’d done such a good job on the year 2000 already that the engines had the same amount of power, but one is special and would have a choice to go to Michael but I think at the end of the day it was not a problem for me to race the same car as him.”

Barrichello said that the thing that set Schumacher from the rest was his courage at high speeds.

View this post on Instagram

#tbtFerrari Badoer era magrin magrin 😂 /// #tbtFerraridays. 50kg for Badoer.... #forzaschumi @michaelschumacher

A post shared by Rubens Barrichello 1️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ (@rubarrichello) on Nov 28, 2019 at 10:58am PST

“He was super, super on high speed like very courageous. The way I drove on the low speed was actually I was taking more speed out of it than him,” he explained.

“I remember so many times Ross (Brawn) telling him that he had too do something different. They knew how to affect him positively.

“But if it was run straight, just the same strategy for everyone I might have won at least one championship … at least one.

“It doesn’t make a difference now, it’s part of the past. I didn’t and I’m happy with that because I tried.”

“It’s insane”: Footage emerges of shopping centre brawl over baby formula

Shoppers have been recorded on video brawling outside Woolworths in Sydney’s Hurstville over tins of baby formula.

People can be seen laying down on the ground as they kick and punch one another with shopping bags in the video shared by Nine News.

The fight comes shortly after Chinese dairy company Mengniu announced on Monday that it had made a takeover offer for Australian infant formula producer Bellamy’s valued at $1.5 billion.

Mengniu – a business based in Hong Kong has been looking to globally expand in recent years, and said it was attracted to the Australian group’s local operations and supply chain, as well as its “leading organic brand position”.

Desperate shoppers have kicked each other and swung bags, in the latest fight over instant baby formula. #9News pic.twitter.com/W07A4bMm3l
— Nine News Melbourne (@9NewsMelb) 16 September 2019

“Our sales growth ambitions for Bellamy’s in Australia, and the broader Asia Pacific region, will see investment in the local dairy industry to ensure the required capacity is in place to achieve these plans,” said the company’s CEO Lu Minfang in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

Mengniu has previously highlighted the ongoing demand of infant milk formula in China, which has led to chaotic scenes in Australian supermarkets.

“He is conscious”: Turning point in Michael Schumacher's sad plight

Formula One star Michael Schumacher is said to be “conscious” after undergoing stem-cell treatment in Paris, France, a French newspaper has reported.

The Le Parisien revealed earlier this week the seven-time world champion had been admitted to Georges-Pompidou hospital for a complex treatment involving the transfusions of inflammation-reducing stem cells.

The cardiac surgeon who carried out the complex operation, Professor Philippe Menasche is also the same doctor who performed the world’s first embryonic cell transplant on a patient with heart failure in just 2014.

“He is in my area. And I can assure you that he is conscious,” a source told the French newspaper.

The 50-year-old German was left with severe brain damage in 2013 after suffering an accident while skiing.

The Formula One legend has since been recovering at his family home in Lausanne and while his family has kept his condition as private as possible, new details have come to light about the trip to Paris.

An Italian newspaper La Repubblica quoted biology professor Angelo Vescovi who claimed to have been “contacted by a person who knew Schumacher’s family”.

“They asked if something could be done (for Schumacher). At that time, we had made an attempt to inject the same cells we use for multiple sclerosis into the brain of a boy in a coma with quite good results,” he said.

“At the moment, we can only make assumptions about what they are doing in Paris.”

The Le Parisien reports the Ferrari and Mercedes driver has an estimate of 10 security guards watching over him at the hospital.

The family said on the star’s 50th birthday that they were “doing everything humanly possible" and “that he is in the very best of hands”.

The manager of Schumacher, Nick Fry, spoke about his accident in his new book Survive. Drive. Win. where he wrote: “Corinna (Schumacher’s wife) and the family have kept a very tight control on information about his condition and his treatment which, I think, is a pity.

“There are millions of people out there who have a genuine affection for Michael, and that’s not just his fans in Germany or fans of Mercedes Benz.

“He has sustained an injury while skiing, which unfortunately happens to ordinary people every year. Families of those in recovery generally react better if they know other people are in the same boat.

“I am sure that techniques and therapies have been developed and tried (with Schumacher) over the last few years that may well help others.

“It would be helpful for his family to share how they have dealt with this challenge.”

F1 legend's son Mick Schumacher leaves family and friends "emotional" after podium tribute

Formula 1 legend Ross Brawn said Mick Schumacher’s celebrations after winning his maiden F2 race in Hungary reminded him of the Ferrari junior’s father Michael Schumacher.

Brawn, longtime F1 technical director, has been credited as one of the masterminds behind Michael’s seven world championship titles with Benetton and Ferrari.

He said seeing Schumacher junior securing his first F2 win at the Hungarian grand prix on Sunday was an “emotional” and “important” moment.

“I wasn’t at the track, but it was an emotional moment seeing him raise his arms to the sky, and I can’t deny that it reminded me of his father, Michael,” Brawn said.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Autosport (@autosport) on Aug 7, 2019 at 3:12am PDT

“Mick had to fight for the win and avoid making mistakes as he was harried all race long by Nobuharu Matsushita. I think the earlier the better, and just happy with the win now. I’ll celebrate with my family.”
