Paul Hogan's grandson facing jail over airport robbery

<p>Paul Hogan's grandson is facing charges after breaking into a secure room at Sydney Airport, just months after avoiding jail on other charges. </p> <p>Police have alleged that Jake Paul Hogan had housebreaking tools in his possession on August 10th when he broke into a secure employee bike rack room in the carpark of the Sydney International Airport.</p> <p>It was there he allegedly stole a custom bike worth $5,000, before returning just three days later with the same housebreaking tools and two black mountain bikes which are suspected to have been stolen.</p> <p>Mr Hogan was charged with six offences related to the break-ins on August 28th, when he was already in custody on remand over separate allegations of breaking and entering.</p> <p>The charges come just three months <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/finance/legal/turn-his-life-around-paul-hogan-s-grandson-set-to-be-released-from-prison" target="_blank" rel="noopener">after</a> the 34-year-old was released from prison after 57 days behind bars. </p> <p>At the time of his release, Hogan broke down in court after learning that his father has moved to Sydney to support him in living a life without crime when he leaves jail.</p> <p>His father Todd Hogan, who is the son of the Crocodile Dundee star, flew back from New Zealand to support his son at the sentencing, in which he was sentenced for breaking into apartment buildings to fund his “high-level drug habit” and for breaching a court order against an ex-girlfriend in May. </p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images / Facebook</em></p>

“Turn his life around”: Paul Hogan’s grandson set to be released from prison

<p>The grandson of Crocodile Dundee is set to be released from prison after 57 days behind bars. </p> <p>Jake Paul Hogan, 34, broke down in court after learning that his father has moved to Sydney to support him in living a life without crime when he leaves jail.</p> <p>His father Todd Hogan, who is the son of the Crocodile Dundee star, flew back from New Zealand to support his son at the sentencing at the Downing Centre Local Court, which Jake appeared at via audio link. </p> <p>The younger Hogan was in custody on remand after his bail was refused in March, and was sentenced on Wednesday for breaking into apartment buildings to fund his “high-level drug habit” and for breaching a court order against an ex-girlfriend.</p> <p>Before falling into a life of drugs, Jake worked as a carpenter but soon became homeless after his drug addiction took hold.</p> <p>In order to fund his drug habit, the 34-year-old began sleeping in abandoned buildings, and stealing clothes and other items to sell for cash. </p> <p>Deputy Chief Magistrate Sharon Freund described Jake’s actions as a “sudden escalation of offending” after his life broke down, while also telling the court she was “comforted” by the fact he was supported by his father Todd and sister in court.</p> <p>“This is a young man that needs some scaffolding, he totally has the ability to turn his life around,” she said. “No doubt you were having difficulty seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and managing to find your way out of the hole.”</p> <p>The court was told Jake’s father was having trouble contacting his son during his difficult times, and had even flown to Sydney from New Zealand to find him.</p> <p>“Mr Hogan you are phenomenally lucky to have these supports,” Ms Freund said.</p> <p>She told the court Jake’s father is set to remain in Sydney to give him support when he leaves custody.</p> <p>Jake was convicted of all charges and sentenced to a community corrections order for two years, and an intensive corrections order for nine months.</p> <p>“I wish you good luck Mr Hogan,” Ms Freund said.</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images / Facebook </em></p>

"How could he do it to me?": Grandmother broken over grandson's alleged fraud

<p>In a courtroom in Perth, emotions ran high as a heartbroken grandmother awaited a reunion with her grandson, Jack Endersby. But this wasn't a typical family gathering. It was a courtroom confrontation, where Lyn Newby hoped her grandson would look her in the eye and confront the pain he allegedly caused by defrauding her of more than $320,000.</p> <p>Endersby, a 24-year-old <a href="https://www.9news.com.au/national/perth-news-grandmother-lost-320000-after-investing-in-grandson-business-alleged-ponzi-scheme/e3ea6396-750c-452c-8e87-c0ef53d65ede" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused of orchestrating a Ponzi-style scheme</a> that allegedly swindled around $2 million from victims across Australia, faced the scrutiny of the law and the anguish of his own family. The accusations against him span from February 2021 to February 2024, a period during which he allegedly promised lucrative returns to investors, only to leave them empty-handed and disillusioned.</p> <p>For Newby, the betrayal cut deep. She had entrusted her grandson with a substantial sum, believing it to be an investment in his trading business, Codex Investments. His promises of monthly returns seemed enticing, but when the payments abruptly ceased, Newby's world shattered.</p> <p>"He has ruined our lives," she lamented. "How could he do it to me? I'm his grandmother." </p> <p>Endersby's arrest earlier this month marked a turning point in the unravelling of his alleged scheme. Facing 11 charges of fraud, he appeared in Perth Magistrates Court, where his family, including his mother, sought answers and reconciliation. However, Endersby remained aloof, ignoring their attempts at communication.</p> <p>In the lead-up to his court appearance, Newby expressed her desire for her grandson to acknowledge the pain he caused. "He will feel terrible when he sees me, and I want him to look me in the eye and know how much he's hurt me," she said, her anguish palpable.</p> <p>The allegations against Endersby paint a stark contrast to his earlier life. Once a telesales consultant and labourer, he purportedly transformed into a "self-taught investor" with a multimillion-dollar portfolio and a lifestyle of luxury. Flashy holidays, upscale accommodations and a Maserati adorned his newfound prosperity, allegedly funded by the deceitful machinations of a Ponzi scheme.</p> <p>As the details of Endersby's alleged deception emerged, more victims came forward, each recounting their own stories of financial loss and shattered trust. Michael Dawson, who invested in Endersby's business 18 months prior, described initial returns followed by a troubling silence. Others spoke of referral schemes that seemingly built trust but ultimately ensnared unsuspecting investors in a web of deceit.</p> <p>Amid the courtroom drama and legal proceedings, questions linger about the true extent of Endersby's alleged scheme and the lives it impacted. Robert De Niro’s grandson's official cause of death confirmed

<p>Robert De Niro’s grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez’s cause of death has been confirmed. </p> <p>The 19-year-old died from a "toxic" combination of drugs, a New York City Medical Examiner told <em>Page Six</em> on Tuesday. </p> <p>Autopsy results revealed that the late teen had fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine and cocaine in his system at the time of his death, which has been ruled as an "accident". </p> <p>Sophia Marks, 20, has been arrested in connection to Leandro's overdose.</p> <p>According to criminal reports obtained by <em>Page Six</em>, the texts between Leandro and Marks allege that she had warned him about the fentanyl-laced pills, as they discussed the purchase of counterfeit oxycodone and Xanax just days before his death.</p> <p>Police also believe that Marks allegedly sold pills to children as young as 15. </p> <p>This comes just one month after De Niro’s daughter Drena claimed that her son passed away after a <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/de-niro-s-daughter-reveals-her-son-s-cause-of-death" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tragic drug accident</a>. </p> <p>“Someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him,”  she wrote in response to a comment on one of her posts at that time. </p> <p>“For all these people still f***ing around selling and buying this s**t, my son is gone forever,” she added. </p> <p>Drena who is still processing her grief, continues to post memories of her son, with the most recent one a heartbreaking tribute marking the first month since his passing.</p> <blockquote class="instagram-media" style="background: #FFF; He further added, "We're greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo."</p> <p>At present, the cause of Leandro's death remains unknown, although reports suggest that drugs and drug paraphernalia were found near his body.</p> <p>Leandro was the son of Drena De Niro and graffiti artist Carlos "Mare139" Rodriguez. Carlos commented on Drena's social media post, expressing his heartfelt emotions:</p> <p>"Words aren't enough to express the joy he gave us or the loss we now endure with our families and friends. He is God's child now. On this full moon, his spirit illuminates what could not be seen in the dark. You can't spell LOVE without LEO."</p> <p>Several celebrities, including Lenny Kravitz, Andy Cohen, and Naomi Campbell, expressed their support and condolences in the comments section of Drena's post.</p> <p>Drena De Niro is the eldest of Robert De Niro's seven children. He adopted her in 1976 after marrying her mother, Diahnne Abbott. Robert also has a son named Raphael, 46, with Ms. Abbott, as well as twins named Aaron and Julian, 27, with Toukie Smith.</p> <p>Additionally, he has a son named Elliot, 25, and a daughter named Helen, 11, with Grace Hightower. Queen Elizabeth's front line desires for her grandsons

<p>A former army chief has revealed Queen Elizabeth's desires for both her grandsons to serve on the front lines. </p> <p>A new documentary has revealed that the late monarch wanted both Prince Harry and Prince William to serve in Afghanistan because they "must do their duty". </p> <p>In the upcoming ITV documentary <em>The Real Crown: Inside the House of Windsor</em>, Former Army head General Sir Mike Jackson shared the details of a private conversation he had with Queen Elizabeth, breaking strict royal protocol by doing so. </p> <p>"What goes on in those audiences and who says what to whom remains for the two people involved, and I will break the rule about not divulging what goes on on this one occasion," Sir Mike told the five-part series.</p> <p>"She was very clear. She said, 'My grandsons have taken my shilling, therefore they must do their duty.' And that was that."</p> <p>Despite the Queen's wishes, Prince Harry was the only one of the brothers to go to Afghanistan, completing two tours of duty, during his 10 years the Army.</p> <p>Sir Mike went on to say that sending Prince William, the heir to the throne, into a war zone was too much for the Queen. </p> <p>"It was decided that William as heir to the heir, the risk is too great," he said.</p> <p>"But for his younger brother, the risk was acceptable."</p> <p>Mark Cann, director of the British Forces Foundation, told the documentary that despite the reservations of the Crown, Prince William was enthusiastic about serving his country. </p> <p>He said, "William was very keen to go. Unequivocally."</p> <p>"But it was complex, and some very great minds and experienced people took a view on it."</p> <p>"I think it was really tricky. Anybody who's in the military who hasn't actually been on operation feels a sense of disappointment."</p> <p>"And I think especially that was the one (war) at the time, you've got everyone around you at the time who's been involved in it. So there is a sense of disappointment."</p> <p>The series goes on to explore the Queen's extensive knowledge about what was happening on the battlefields, with the former head of MI6 Sir John Scarlett saying the monarch had "complete clearance to everything".</p> <p>"She has complete access to an exceptional amount of info and insight for longer than anyone else," Sir John said.</p> <p>"She's very, very discreet, completely reliable and completely on top of the detail."</p> <p>"I remember thinking at the time, 'Wow, Her Majesty knows more about this than we do'."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images</em></p>

“Music somehow stays”: Great-grandma with dementia recalls lullaby in heartwarming moment with newborn great-grandson

<p>When Connie Lynn uploaded a touching video of her mother singing to her Instagram account, she didn’t expect it to reach so many people or to warm so many hearts. </p> <p>The clip features the moment 89-year-old Elinor Hanson got to hold her one-day-old great-grandson, Grayson. Elinor, who had been diagnosed with dementia years before but whose condition had worsened since 2020, delighted the whole family when she began to sing a beloved lullaby to the newborn. </p> <p>"Okay, it goes like this,” she tells the swaddled baby, before asking, “now, are you listening?" </p> <p>In the moments to follow, Elinor begins her heartfelt rendition, singing as she rocks him in her arms, “I love you, a bushel and a peck. A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. A hug around the neck and a barrel and a heap. A barrel and a heap and I'm talking in my sleep about you, about you, 'cause I love you.”</p> <p>A teary-eyed Elinor trails off to look up at the camera, and with an emotional chuckle tells her family, “I’m going to cry.” </p> <p>“Great grandma meeting and holding her newest great grandson and singing a song she sung to all the grandkids,” Connie Lynn captioned the post. </p> <p>“A song my kids know very well. I love you a bushel and a peck,” she continued, “this night made her so happy. It’s amazing how the brain can lose so much but music somehow stays. Brave grandmother defends grandson from group of violent thieves

<p>An elderly woman in Queensland has been injured while defending her grandson from a group of alleged teen thieves.</p> <p>The incident took place inside a carpark in a shopping centre, located in Maryborough, and the video has been shared around social media.</p> <p>Footage shows the group of youths opening the back of a red car and attacking the boy inside. They’re seen throwing punches and attempting to grab his legs. It is believed they were trying to steal the victim’s shoes.<br />The woman, who is understood to be the boy's grandmother, attempted to intervene by trying to grab one of the attackers, placing herself between her grandson and the other boys.</p> <p>The woman in her 70s was injured and the group fled before the police could arrive. They are yet to be charged but police urge anyone with information to come forward.</p> <p>“This was obviously a concerning incident, where a number of youths approached a youth in the carpark who was there with his grandmother,” Maryborough Inspector Paul Algie said.</p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

<p>Nelson Mandela's grandson has slammed recent comments from Meghan Markle, after she shared an anecdote about South Africans comparing her marriage to Mandela's release from prison.</p> <p>In an <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/family-pets/meghan-markle-gets-candid-in-groundbreaking-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">explosive interview</a>, the Duchess of Sussex recalled a conversation from 2019 with a South African member of The Lion King production, who allegedly said to her, "I just need you to know: When you married into this family, we rejoiced in the streets the same we did when Mandela was freed from prison."</p> <p>Now, Zwelivelile 'Mandla' Mandela has spoken out about her claims that are reminiscent of the 1990 release of the legendary anti-apartheid campaigner after 27 years in jail, telling the <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11159869/EXCLUSIVE-Nelson-Mandelas-grandson-slams-Meghan-Markle.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daily Mail</a>, "It can never be compared to the celebration of someone's wedding."</p> <p>He said, "Madiba's celebration was based on overcoming 350 years of colonialism with 60 years of a brutal apartheid regime in South Africa. So It cannot be equated to as the same."</p> <p>Referring to Meghan, he said, "Every day there are people who want to be Nelson Mandela, either comparing themselves with him or wanting to emulate him."</p> <p>"But before people can regard themselves as Nelson Mandelas, they should be looking into the work that he did and be able to be champions and advocates of the work that he himself championed."</p> <p>Zwelivelile's grandfather served 27 years in prison before being released and re-uniting opponents and going on to lead his country. </p> <p>He said when the people of South Africa expressed their joy at his grandfather's release and danced in the streets, it was for a far more important and serious reason than her marriage "to a white prince".</p> <p>The African National Congress MP added, "We are still bearing scars of the past. Queen attends christening of her great grandsons despite recent injury

Queen’s “favourite” grandson questioned by police in bizarre 740km lockdown trip

<p><span>Cops turned up on the doorstep of a married woman in Scotland after a complaint that the Queen’s grandson Peter Phillips had driven 740 km to see her.</span><br /><br /><span>Police were forced to “issue advice” to Mr Phillips, 43, who currently resides 460 miles (740 kilometres) away in Gloucestershire.</span><br /><br /><span>The grandson of Her Majesty lives at his mum, Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.</span><br /><br /><span>But locals had little patience for the royal when he turned up in the village of St Cyrus, Aberdeenshire.</span><br /><br /><span>Police called on him and the 40-year-old mum of two at her £475,000 ($860,000) home.</span><br /><br /><span>It was quickly discovered Phillips was not in breach of any COVID-19 lockdown rules after he explained he was on a business trip.</span><br /><br /><span>The woman — who is separated from her husband — is a pal of Peter’s sister Zara Phillips after their days at private school Gordonstoun in Moray, Scotland.</span><br /><br /><span>She attended Zara’s wedding to rugby star Mike Tindall in 2011.</span><br /><br /><span>The woman and Peter met again at a school reunion.</span><br /><br /><span>The father-of-two split from his wife, 41-year-old Autumn, in a public announcement in February of 2020.</span></p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7840489/peter-phillips.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/462147d9d43d403882d55ccecdf044c4" /><br /><br /><span>“It seems wrong he has travelled here from England, whatever the circumstances,” one local source said.</span><br /><br /><span>“Scotland is closed and if you flew here you would have to quarantine for 10 days.”</span><br /><br /><span>A spokesman for Mr Phillips said the royal had travelled on business with his company XL Medical, which provides rapid COVID-19 tests.</span><br /><br /><span>“We do not comment on ­details or circumstances of Mr Phillips’ accommodation when travelling on ­business,” he said.</span></p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7840487/peter-phillips-2.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/19e41b2b78014e838769ef45cc1e858b" /><br /><br /><span>A Police Scotland spokeswoman said, “At around 6.40 pm on Friday March 26, 2021, police received a report of a potential breach of coronavirus regulations at a property in St Cyrus, Montrose. Lisa Curry returns to the pool with adorable grandson

Priscilla Presley speaks out following tragic loss of grandson Benjamin

Elvis Presley’s grandson dead at 27

<p>Lisa Marie Presley's son and Elvis Presley's grandson Benjamin Keough has died at the age of 27.</p> <p>Reports have said Benjamin took his own life on Sunday. </p> <p>In a statement to TMZ, Lisa's manager, Roger Widynowsk, said, "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. </p> <p>“She adored that boy. Rookie police officer’s heartbroken grandma speaks out about grandson’s death

<div class="post_body_wrapper"> <div class="post_body"> <div class="body_text "> <p>It has been revealed one of the four police officers who were killed in a horrific car crash in Melbourne was a 28-year-old constable who was just one week into the job.  </p> <p>Joshua Prestney has been revealed to be one of the victims killed by a speeding truck on the Eastern Freeway at Kew on Wednesday afternoon. </p> <p>The young man’s grandmother Eliza Anderson told the<span> </span><a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.heraldsun.com.au/truecrimeaustralia/police-courts/officer-killed-in-eastern-freeway-tragedy-identified-as-constable-josh-prestney/news-story/e484c58a8caafe6af8a08e1189ea6868" target="_blank">Herald Sun</a><span> </span>he was “so proud” to serve his community. </p> <p>Me Prestney had graduated from the police academy in November. </p> <p>“We were so proud of you. God bless Josh. Whilst money can never replace a lost loved one, the financial stresses can take their toll.”</p> <p> Heartfelt comments were left beneath the GoFundMe page from those who donated. </p> <p>“I’m an ex-member... it is a job like no other...Rest In Peace my brothers and sister in blue,” one person who donated a generous $100 wrote and another with the same contribution to the victim’s families said: “Everyone deserves to come home from work everyday. What a tragedy.”</p> <p>Another said: “This is truly a tragedy, a very difficult and dark time for Australia. I honestly cannot find the right words to express how saddened I am by this tragedy. </p> <p>“My prayers and thoughts are with the families and the police force. This is a reminder that police officers truly sacrifice their lives on a daily basis, just to keep the community safe. </p> <p>“Victoria police, thank you for all your hard work, thank you for allowing me to feel safe on a daily basis.”</p> <p>A truck was driving at 100km/h when it hit and brutally killed four police officers dealing with the driver of a Porsche who had just tested positive to a drug test on the roadside. </p> <p>The refrigeration truck ploughed into all three parked cars just after the police arrived. </p> <p>The collision killed two senior constables and two officers as they stood in the emergency lane.  </p> <p>The driver of the black Porsche 911 fled on foot and remains on the run. </p> <p>The driver has been identified as mortgage broker Richard Pusey and was taken into custody on Thursday morning outside of a chemist,<span> </span><a rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://7news.com.au/news/disaster-and-emergency/eastern-freeway-accident-richard-pusey-identified-as-porsche-driver-allegedly-involved-in-fatal-crash-c-994642" target="_blank">7News reports.</a></p> <p>Flags will fly at half-mast across Victoria on Thursday in honour of the officers. </p> <p>“It is an unprecedented event for us to lose so many officers in one event. Officers just doing their work, just doing their job,” Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton said on Thursday.</p> <p>The truck driver had a medical episode after the crash occurred, blacked out and is currently in hospital under police guard.</p> <p>“He is from Cranbourne and we did a warrant through the night at his premises,” Commissioner Ashtonsaid. </p> <p>“What was found at that premises is still the subject of ongoing investigation.”</p> <p>Shattered police colleagues and emergency workers across Australia have since paid tribute to the fallen officers in what is the greatest loss of police life in a single incident in Victoria's history.    </p> <p>The three other constables killed have been identified as Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Constable Glen Humphris and Senior Constable Kevin King.</p> </div> </div> </div>

Kirk Douglas’ grandson reflects on his passing in emotional interview

<p>Kirk Douglas’ grandson has honoured the late acting legend in an emotional interview.</p> <p>Speaking to <em><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cameron-douglas-legacy-grandfather-kirk-douglas-hard-imagine-anyone-doing-it-better-1278758">The Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, Cameron Douglas said it was difficult to lose his grandfather, who died on February 5 at the age of 103.</p> <p>“He was always there, always supportive and he believed in me even when maybe I had given up on myself,” said Cameron, who previously struggled with drug addiction.</p> <p>“Losing him is one of those things that, even when you sort of see it coming … it’s still difficult.</p> <p>“I take solace in the pride of being his grandson and having had the opportunity to spend as much time with him as I have. When I look at his life, what he accomplished and the way he carried himself, it's hard for me to imagine anyone doing it any better.”</p> <p>Cameron said he brought his partner Viviane Thibes and daughter Lua Izzy to Los Angeles so that the family could spend more time with Kirk.</p> <p>“I moved about 15 minutes away from them and have been spending a lot of time with him, bringing my daughter [and] Vivian over on weekends,” said the 41-year-old.</p> <p>“Just watching the bond between my daughter and grandfather was extremely special.</p> <p>“He would light up every time she was around. When she was in the same room, all she wanted to do was either be in his lap or be the focus of his attention. I'll remind her of that when she gets older, showing her that connection through photos.”</p> <p>Cameron followed in the footsteps of his father Michael and his grandfather to become an actor after serving nearly eight years in prison for possessing cocaine and <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/cameron-douglas-long-way-home-book-memoir-hollywood-life-prison-a9180571.html">distributing methamphetamine</a>.</p> <p>“He said to me, not that long ago, ‘Cameron, I’m so happy to see that you’re finally functioning’. That’s this kind of credo among the members of our family – to be ‘functioning’ – and I know that made him proud.”</p>
