"Forever grateful": Princess Eugenie shares sweet tribute to Fergie

<p>Princess Eugenie has shared a lengthy tribute to her mother Sarah Ferguson for believing her pain as a child that led to her scoliosis diagnosis. </p> <p>The royal shared a sweet photo from her childhood, showing her in a school uniform with her mother by her side. </p> <p>The emotional post came on the heels of international scoliosis awareness day, as she thanked the Duchess of York for taking her disability seriously when she was young. </p> <p>"My mum caught my scoliosis early and I was lucky enough to get the help I needed at 12 years old," the post said.</p> <p>"I thank her so much for that and also thank her for the confidence to be proud of my scar. "Forever grateful": Jana Pittman's heartbreaking loss

Why you should grate your butter

<p>Making your own food can take quite a bit of time, so a time-saving trick is always welcome.</p> <p>Dealing with cold, hard butter out of the refrigerator can be a hassle – it is not easily spreadable, and often needs to be brought to room temperature for most recipes. You can’t exactly leave it out for too long, either – food authorities such as the <a href="http://foodsafety.asn.au/butter/">Food Safety Information Council</a> generally recommend storing butter in the fridge to prevent it from becoming rancid.</p> <p>Luckily, there’s a trick to make your butter soft in little to no time. And it only requires a grater.</p> <p>Meghan Moravcik Walbert from <a href="https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2019/03/grate-your-butter-to-soften-it-quickly/"><em>Lifehacker</em></a> said grating your butter is an easy way to transform it from brick-hard to soft, fluffy and ready for use.</p> <p>Once grated, the softened butter can be spread over toast, mixed up with dry ingredients in baking or utilised in any way your recipe requires.</p> <p>“I peel the wrapper back as I work to keep my hands clean,” wrote Walbert. “It takes less than 30 seconds to grate around 100g.”</p> <p>Don’t have a grater? “I am grateful”: Linda Evangelista returns to modelling

Burns victim Sophie Delezio reveals why she's grateful for going through tragedies

After everything that she has endured in the past 15 years, her just being alive is a testament to how determined she really is.</p> <p>"She has had a plan to live overseas for at least a couple of years and she's been quietly working toward that goal the entire time."</p> <p>Sophie believes that there is always a positive side to every situation.</p> <p>"I went through a lot and I've suffered a lot. I've been in pain and it's horrible but I've got to look at all the joy that has happened," she said.</p> </div>

"Grateful" Goldie Hawn reveals why she cries three times a day

<p>Goldie Hawn is struggling to come to terms with the current state of the world. The 74-year-old actress appeared on<span> </span><em>Good Morning Britain<span> </span></em>on Thursday where she spoke about how she’s handing the coronavirus pandemic.</p> <p>"The reality is that the people that really I'm worried and concerned about are the people that are actually incarcerated, or they feel that they are in their apartments," the mother of two said. "It's not a house. It doesn't have a garden they can go out into. So we're very, very lucky and I'm incredibly grateful." </p> <p>While she feels fortunate, Hawn understands the plight others are going through during these tough times.</p> <p>"What I do feel is a tremendous angst, a tremendous sadness," she said through tears. "I find that every day honestly I cry probably three times a day because it hurts me to think that there's abuse going on. There's anger going on. And it all has to do with confinement, fear, uncertainty, what's going to happen." </p> <p>But Hawn shared some advice with those watching at home, urging them to live in the moment and appreciate their current lives as best as they can.</p> <p>"If you live right now, you could enjoy these moments, they're in you," she said. </p>

“No pain”: A grateful John Blackman gives positive post-surgery update

“This is a new twist but I’m grateful for it”: Veteran newsreader declines further cancer treatment

<p><span>Veteran newsreader Brian Henderson has decided not to have surgery after receiving his fifth cancer diagnosis at the age of 88.</span></p> <p><span>The former Nine presenter – who was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September – has told his doctor he would not be having any surgery or radiation or chemotherapy treatment, <em><a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/tv-veteran-brian-henderson-on-why-he-wont-fight-latest-cancer/news-story/1802417a962b89fe2fecc679444afba0">The Daily Telegraph</a> </em>reported.</span></p> <p><span>“My doctor said the tumour in my kidney is likely to be slow growing so I’ve decided, at my age, to leave it there,” Henderson told the newspaper. </span></p> <p><span>“The doctor said I’m likely to die of something else before this kills me.”</span></p> <p><span>The Gold Logie-winner was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 1999, prostate cancer in 2004, hydrocephalus of the brain in 2013, and throat cancer in 2014. </span></p> <p><span>According to <em><a href="https://celebrity.nine.com.au/latest/brian-henderson-cancer-fifth-time-why-wont-seek-treatment/d2229d21-8c63-41a9-9164-b8a021b440f5">9Honey</a></em>, the tumour on his tonsil and half his salivary glands took 30 radiation sessions to remove.</span></p> <p><span>“I’ve had my prostate removed, a piece of bowel taken out and then – the worst of them – throat cancer, a few years back. That was a toughie,” he said.</span></p> <p><span>“I’ve had melanomas, I’ve had it all. “So grateful”: Erin Molan speaks out after terrifying ordeal

The Big Bang Theory is coming to an end: “We are forever grateful to our fans"

<p>After a 12-season run, it has been confirmed comedy hit TV show <em>The Big Bang Theory</em> is coming to an end. With a record-breaking 279 episodes, the final episode will air in May 2019.</p> <p>While there was talk that the sitcom's network, CBS, was renewing the show for a 13th season, executive producer Chuck Lorre has put them to rest and has confirmed that the show has reached the end.</p> <p>“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of <em>The Big Bang Theory</em> during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring <em>The Big Bang Theory</em> to an epic creative close,” WBTV, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions said in a joint statement.</p> <p>One of the most popular shows on television, <em>The Big Bang Theory</em> has amassed a huge viewership, with season 11 averaging on 18.9 million viewers.</p> <p>“<em>The Big Bang Theory</em> has been the defining comedy of its generation,” said CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl.</p> <p>“All of us at the Network take exceptional pride in this series that uniquely combines creative genius, commercial ratings success, cultural influence and characters who became so popular, they are easily known by just one name. We’re incredibly grateful for our partnership with Warner Bros., Chuck Lorre Productions and a brilliant cast and crew that has made such a ‘big bang’ and lasting legacy on the television landscape.”</p> <p>The series, which has earned 52 Emmy nominations and 10 wins, has garnered a loyal fan base. This is the best way to clean your stove grates

<p>If you’ve ever spent an hour scrubbing away with abandon, trying to remove the cooked on grease and grime from your stove burners then you’ll know it’s a thankless task. Weeks/months/years of continued use means that our stove burners cop a bit of a beating and removing the build-up isn’t easy. Fortunately, there is a way to remove grease, oil and burnt on food easily and without any scrubbing required!</p> <p>The secret is all down to ammonia, the chemical compound that can be used to clean pretty much anything your home has to throw at it. The reason ammonia has the capabilities to clean as well as it does is due to its chemistry. It reacts with oils and fats, binding to them to form a soapy compound. The water contained in the ammonia then dissolves the soap so that the whole thing can be wiped away cleanly. Pretty nifty stuff.</p> <p>When it comes to cleaning your stove grates, it’s the gas that ammonia gives off that it useful. Trapping that gas with your dirty grate means that it dissolves the oil and grease.</p> <p><strong>Here’s how to do it.</strong></p> <ol> <li>Grab a ziplock bag.</li> <li>Pop your dirty stove grate inside the bag along with about ¼ cup of liquid ammonia.</li> <li>Seal the bag and leave to sit for at least 8 hours or overnight.</li> <li>Unseal the bag and wipe your grate clean. Look on in amazement as all the previous mess is. removed without the need for any scrubbing.</li> </ol> <p>Have you tried the ammonia trick? Seared lemongrass tuna with rice paper, herbs, grated egg and basil seeds

<p>If you need a light, delicious dinner try this seared lemongrass tuna with rice paper, herbs, grated egg and basil seeds.</p> <p>Sounds pretty tasty to us!</p> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ingredients:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li>1 thick lemongrass stem, pale end finely sliced</li> <li>3 garlic cloves, chopped</li> <li>½ tsp Chinese five-spice</li> <li>1 tbsp salt flakes</li> <li>½ tsp freshly ground black pepper</li> <li>700g mid-loin tuna, trimmed and cut lengthways into two pieces</li> <li>80ml grapeseed oil</li> <li>1 white salad onion, finely sliced in half-moons</li> <li>1½ tbsp basil seeds, soaked in cold water for 20 minutes and drained</li> <li>1 lemon, peeled, segmented and chopped</li> <li>4 hard-boiled egg yolks</li> <li>½ bunch Thai basil, leaves picked</li> <li>½ bunch dill fronds, leaves picked</li> <li>½ bunch coriander, leaves picked</li> <li>½ bunch Vietnamese mint, leaves picked</li> <li>2 handfuls lemon balm, leaves picked</li> <li>2 long green chillies, finely sliced</li> <li>lime wedges, to serve</li> <li>black sesame crackers or large prawn crackers, to serve</li> <li>superfine rectangles of rice paper, cut into triangles, to serve (if these are hard to find you could just use the prawn crackers or lettuce cups, or try lightly moistening spring roll wrappers with a damp cloth)</li> </ul> <p><em>Dipping sauce</em></p> <ul> <li>4 small garlic cloves, chopped</li> <li>4 red bird's eye chillies, chopped</li> <li>3 tbsp lime juice<br /> 3½ tbsp Vietnamese fish sauce</li> <li>3 tbsp white sugar</li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Method:</span></strong></p> <ol> <li>Pound the lemongrass and garlic using a mortar and pestle until an even paste.</li> <li>Add the five-spice, salt and pepper and combine. Smear the paste evenly over the tuna, pressing it on firmly.</li> <li>Add the oil to a frying pan over medium heat and sear the tuna pieces evenly for about one minute on each side.</li> <li>Set aside to cool, and then wrap tightly in cling film. Refrigerate until chilled.</li> <li>For the dipping sauce, pound the garlic and chilli using a mortar and pestle until a rough paste. Add the lime juice, fish sauce and sugar and mix until the sugar has dissolved.</li> <li>This will need to sit for about five minutes before using.</li> <li>Once chilled, cut the tuna into slices about five millimetres thick – don't slice it too thinly – and arrange on a serving platter.</li> <li>Top with the onion, basil seeds and chopped lemon and grate over the egg yolks.</li> <li>Combine the herbs and green chilli and pile onto a platter with the dipping sauce, lime wedges, rice paper and crackers on the side.</li> <li>Drizzle some of the sauce over the tuna and serve.</li> </ol> <p><em><strong>Written by Karen Martini.
