Meet the new meerkat babies at Hunter Valley Zoo

Meet the five latest additions to the meerkat family at Hunter Valley Zoo.

Mum Savannah has been kind enough to bring her three-week-old pups out of her birthing den to explore the outside world during the day.

<img width="547" height="307" src="http://nnimgt-a.akamaihd.net/transform/v1/crop/frm/uvjALPUTQDgnA38sTUhmgb/f16bacc7-27eb-416b-b019-981bc0ef51a3.jpg/r0_57_1500_900_w1200_h678_fmax.jpg" alt="Savannah with one of her pups. If the kids are in the den, every 10 minutes one of the adults will go in and check on them, they are one big happy family,’’ Rae said.

The sex of the pups can only be determined at six months.

Related links:

14 teeny tiny animals

Instagram accounts cat lovers NEED to see

In pictures: dogs who are smothering the cat with too much love
