Actress hospitalised after motorcycle accident

Normally I'm off competing and she's shooting a project or something … but now we've got some time together," White, who is an Olympian, told publication <em><a title="Us Weekly" href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/shaun-white-has-a-post-retirement-bucket-list-with-nina-dobrev/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">US Weekly</a></em>.</p> <p>"We went to Antarctica, Dubai, visited her mum in France, went to Monaco, went to Indonesia. Elderly woman hospitalised by royal motorcycle escort

<p dir="ltr">A pensioner in her 80s is in critical condition after a collision with a police motorcycle that was escorting Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.</p> <p dir="ltr">The rolling motorcade, manned by motorcycle outriders, was escorting the Duchess when the collision happened.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Duchess was being escorted by the Met Police‘s Special Escort Group, who provide armed escorts for Royal Family members, VIPs, protected members of the Government, visiting royals, heads of state and other visiting dignitaries.</p> <p dir="ltr">Met Police released a <a href="https://news.met.police.uk/news/woman-injured-following-collision-with-police-motorcycle-in-west-london-466651#:~:text=A%20woman%20has%20been%20injured,Road%2C%20Earls%20Court%2C%20SW5." target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> that said: “A woman has been injured after being involved in a collision with a police motorcycle in west London.</p> <p dir="ltr">“At approximately 15:21hrs on Wednesday, 10 May a police motorcycle on escort duties was involved in a collision with a member of the public on West Cromwell Road, Earls Court, SW5.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and a woman, aged in her 80s, was taken to hospital.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She remains there in a critical condition. Her family have been informed”.</p> <p dir="ltr">Road closures were in place and two bikes – one with King Charles‘ cypher – were seen inside the cordon after the collision happened.</p> <p dir="ltr">A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace has said: “The Duchess’s heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the injured lady and her family.</p> <p dir="ltr">“She is grateful for the swift response by the emergency services and will keep abreast of developments.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Further comment at this time would not be appropriate while the incident is being investigated.”</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image: Getty</em></p>

Young police officer killed in crash was expectant father

<div class="post_body_wrapper"> <div class="post_body"> <div class="body_text "> <p>A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Sydney's northwest has since been identified as an off-duty police officer who was expecting his first child. </p> <p>NSW Police Constable Aaron Vidal, 28, died on Thursday afternoon after being struck by a ute.</p> <p>Police allege that the driver of the ute ran a red light at an intersection.</p> <p>Vidal leaves behind a pregnant fiance.</p> <p>NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said that Vidal has been recognised within the force for his commitment to protecting the community.</p> <p>"On two occasions, he had been formally recognised for good police work by members of the community, which shows that he was held in high regard by not only his peers, but the community he served," Mr Fuller said in the statement on Friday.</p> <p>Police deputy commissioner Jeff Loy said that Vidal worked alongside his father David, a duty officer, at the Day Street police station in Sydney's CBD.</p> <p>"He was a man of service - he was a member of the armed forces before he joined the police force and really, a 28-year-old young man on the journey of life," Mr Loy said.</p> <p>"There's a lot of people around that young lady [constable Vidal's fiancee] today, also his father, and he has five other siblings - so it's a big family.</p> <p>"Police deal with tragedy and trauma but when we lose a young officer in really such a wasteful way in some respects ... it really hits us in the heart."</p> <p>The ute driver who allegedly struck Vidal's motorcycle is set to appear in Blacktown Local Court on Friday, charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.</p> <p><em>Photo credits: </em><em><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/dead-nsw-off-duty-police-officer-an-expectant-father-20200619-p5549w.html" target="_blank" class="_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtflink">NSW Police</a></em></p> </div> </div> </div>

Shocking footage released of George Clooney’s motorcycle crash

<p>CCTV footage has recorded the moment actor George Clooney was thrown off his motorcycle after colliding with a car in Italy.</p> <p>Clooney is now recovering after the scary incident, which occurred on Tuesday.</p> <p>“He was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at his home and will be fine,” a publicist for the actor told <em><a href="https://au.be.yahoo.com/shocking-footage-released-george-clooneys-motorcycle-crash-031840346.html" target="_blank"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Yahoo Entertainment</span></strong></a>.</em></p> <p>The 57-year-old star was riding his motorcycle in Sardinia, Italy, when a Mercedes pulled in front of him, throwing him off his vehicle.</p> <p>According to <em>TMZ</em>, Clooney was thrown 20 feet in the air after making impact with the car.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FABCWorldNewsNow%2Fvideos%2F10157482056915278%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560" width="560" height="315" style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allowfullscreen="true"></iframe></p> <p>The actor’s helmet struck the car’s windshield, causing it to shatter and the helmet to break.</p> <p>A police spokesman said: ''The driver of the car was a local man in his 60s and we are speaking to him about what happened.</p> <p>''It was fortunate the man on the motorbike was wearing a helmet as his head hit the windscreen which smashed.''</p> <p>Clooney was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.</p> <p>His wife Amal immediately rushed to the hospital to be with him and he was discharged two hours later.</p> <p>This is not the first time Clooney has been involved in a motorcycle accident.</p> <p>In 2007, Clooney and his former girlfriend Sarah Larson were involved in a crash while on his motorcycle in New Jersey.</p> <p>At the time, the actor suffered a broken rib and Larson broke her foot.  </p>

There’s something terrifying about this motorbike

<p>Just outside of Paris, drivers on the A4 motorway spotted something very, very strange – a riderless motorbike driving in a perfectly straight line. Onlookers quickly jumped to the type of conclusion you only come to when you’re scared out of your wits – a ghost.</p> <p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Lo_9KYFONUA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></p> <p>“On the video, we can clearly see the two-wheeled […] without a biker,” the man filming said. “A ghost.”</p> <p>However, the reality mightn’t be quite so outlandish. According to <a href="http://www.leparisien.fr/insolite/video-le-mystere-de-la-moto-qui-roule-toute-seule-sur-l-a4-pres-de-paris-09-06-2017-7034859.php" target="_blank"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Le Parisien</span></em></strong></a>, the video was taken just moments after the bike had been involved in a collision, which knocked its 20-something-year-old driver off the vehicle and onto the road.</p> <p>Jean-Pierre Goy, a stunt motorcyclist who has appeared in James Bond movies, revealed to <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3780633/mystery-of-ghost-motorbike-that-freaked-out-motorists-as-it-drove-along-motorway-with-no-rider/" target="_blank"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">The Sun</span></em></strong></a> that it’s not uncommon for bikes to run for over 600m (especially in cruise control) without a rider.</p> <p>“The pilot may have fallen, and in view of the motorcycle, with a very low centre of gravity, it was possible to continue its journey,” he explained. “I’ve seen motorcycles ride like this even longer, especially with the cruise control blocked.”</p>
