8 best restaurant locations in the world

When you visit these restaurants amazing food is only part of the experience.

We’ve put together a gallery containing eight restaurants around the world with locations that are stunning enough to match the sumptuous fare.

Be careful though! These images will give you a rumbling stomach, and the travel bug.

To view all the restaurants, scroll through the gallery above.

Soneva Kiri Resort, Thailand

At this restaurant in Thailand’s south you can book a table in a tree pod, which is hoisted up into the trees while you sit in it. Your waiter will deliver your meal at impressive speeds via zip line. Now we think that’s definitely worth a tip!

Natara Kihavah Villas, Maldives

One part fancy restaurant, one part aquarium, Natara Kihavah Villas lets you end your dining day under the sea. Dine with the fishes on amazing Chinese-style foie gras and crisp fried duckling with plum, orange and ginger marmalade.

Fangweng Restaurant, China

Here’s an experience you definitely need to try once, but maybe not too many times after that. The restaurant is actually built into the caves in the cliffs, but to get the cave you have to walk along the 30-metre cliff-hugging corridor.

Aines Sanctuary Camp, Botswana

We’ve sure you’ve tried alfresco dining experiences, but this is another thing altogether. Seating only five couples at any one time, Aines Sanctuary Camp combines an exhilarating safari experience with fresh cuisine all diners will enjoy.

Aniya Palace Hotel, Agra

One of the best views of the Taj Mahal can actually be enjoyed from a rooftop restaurant that is cheap as chips. Enjoy curry and Kingfisher beer while you post amazing photos on Facebook.

The Rock, Zanzibar

You actually have to check the tides before going to The Rock on the south-eastern coast of Zanzibar. At low tide you can walk to the door, at high tide you’re going to have to pop on a boat to enjoy the sumptuous seafood on offer.

Restaurant Le Panoramic, Chamonix, France

Views to get much better than this. At an altitude of 2,500 metres in Chamonix, one of France’s favourite ski resort, Restaurant Le Panoramic offers an amazing dining experience and a view that will stay with you long after dessert.

Rayavadee Resort, Thailand

This sandy, seaside cave in southern Thailand is the perfect option for a date night, with barbecued seafood served to the sound of the ocean gently lapping aside.
