Kyle Sandilands denies nasty health rumours

<p>Kyle Sandilands has been forced to deny rumours that he is faking his brain aneurysm. </p> <p>The KIIS FM radio host, who recently revealed that he needs surgery and major medical <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/health/caring/kyle-sandilands-reveals-major-health-diagnosis-live-on-air" target="_blank" rel="noopener">intervention</a> to monitor a dangerous brain aneurysm, reacted to the "nasty" rumour live on air after being told about the gossip by his co-host Jackie O. </p> <p>Jackie told Kyle that media veteran Craig Bruce and radio executive Wade Kingsley were discussing Sandilands' diagnosis on his podcast <em>Game Changers: Melbourne Radio Wars</em>, sowing the seed that his health battle could be a publicity stunt. </p> <p>“You know your favourite podcast <em>Game Changers</em> … There was a rumour that popped up on their podcast, Wade, one of the hosts, he brought up a rumour in the industry about your brain aneurysm …” Henderson said.</p> <p>She then played audio from the podcast, in which Kingsley says, “I can’t believe this would be true, but a rumour has got to me this week that Kyle is actually faking his brain aneurysm. Surely there’s no possibility they’ve set this up as a stunt, is there?”</p> <p>Bruce, who had a 30-year career working at Southern Cross Austereo, believed questions may have come up regarding Sandilands’ diagnosis given he was yet to undergo “emergency surgery”.</p> <p>“It’s not true,” he began. “The emergency surgery he was talking about last Monday that hasn’t happened yet has thrown a couple of people off.”</p> <p>Bruce continued, “Don’t be surprised if there’s a living funeral. I wouldn’t be surprised if that idea is floating through the business at the moment. ‘Let’s make the most of this moment’. He’s [Sandilands] wanted to do it for a long time.”</p> <p>Kyle was quick to laugh off the rumour, but couldn't hide his surprise at the media veteran's knack for gossip. </p> <p>“I’m surprised at Craig Bruce … Years ago he was one of the most renowned radio genius’, but he hasn’t even taken his own advice here and done any research,” Sandilands said.</p> <p>“The surprise that I haven’t had the emergency surgery is no surprise to anyone who listens to the show, because I’ve gone to the surgeon and it’s a strange shape, so it’s not a simple thing to get to.</p> <p>“I’ve made it quite clear to journalists and on this show that it’s more dangerous to go in and get it out right now than it is to keep monitoring it.</p> <p>“It is dangerous, I’ve got to change my whole lifestyle which is complete s**t, but it is what it is.”</p> <p>Sandilands added doctors that would be monitoring his condition for “six months”.</p> <p><em>Image credits: KIIS FM </em></p>

Journalists rumoured to replace Alex Cullen on Today

<p>Two female Channel Nine journalists are rumoured to be the front runners for Alex Cullen's sports presenter role on the <em>Today </em>show, after he was <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/entertainment/tv/we-ll-miss-him-terribly-alex-cullen-steps-down-from-today" target="_blank" rel="noopener">axed for accepting a $50,000 gift</a> from billionaire Adrian Portelli. </p> <p>Insiders have told the <em>Daily Mail </em>that Roz Kelly and Danika Mason are the top contenders for the role, alongside Sarah Abo and Karl Stefanovic. </p> <p>They also claim that Kelly is "the obvious first choice" with her current role as the sports presenter on Friday and Saturday evenings, but she might not be too keen on taking the role. </p> <p>"She's polished and the viewers already know her and love her. But she's got two young sons and her husband has to travel to India a lot for work," the source told the <em>Daily Mail. </em></p> <p>"Right now, her life is really finely balanced and in a good place so she might not be too keen to take on all the pressures and demands of live television five days a week." </p> <p>"Danika is also equally amazing and is the other really strong contender that everyone is talking about at the moment," the source continued. </p> <p>Another source suggested that Mason was actually the top pick for the position, as she already has a loyal NRL fan base. </p> <p>"Danika would have to be the top pick - she's an absolute live wire, which is what you need at breakfast, and is a hard-worker who throws herself into every challenge with everything she's got," they said. </p> <p>"While nothing has been decided as yet, she's definitely in strong consideration." </p> <p><em>Image: Nine/ Instagram</em></p> <p> </p>

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness rumoured to face "messy" divorce

<p>Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have yet to file for divorce, according to the Daily Mail. </p> <p>Insiders told the publication that their split could get "messy" as the former couple struggle to divide their estimated $250 million fortune. </p> <p>They are now planning to file in New York "in the next couple of weeks."</p> <p>"One of the biggest reasons why they haven’t yet filed is that they never had a prenup," the source told the Daily Mail. </p> <p>"When they got married, they thought it would be forever. Who doesn’t? At the time, neither of them expected Hugh’s career to get as enormous as it has.</p> <p>"Because there was no prenup, and he made a fortune during their marriage, this divorce is not going to be cut and dry. It may even get messy because the stakes are high.</p> <p>"A lot of moving parts need to be worked out and there is a huge amount of money involved.</p> <p>The insider insisted that the couple both want to "make this as easy as possible," but after three decades together and Jackman's huge rise to fame, "it’s not quite that easy."</p> <p>Furness and Jackman announced their <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/relationships/hugh-jackman-devastated-after-marriage-split" target="_blank" rel="noopener">split</a> in September 2023, and not long after, rumours of the <em>Wolverine</em> actor's new relationship with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster started emerging, with the pair finally confirming their romance last week. </p> <p>His new relationship has reportedly added to the growing tension between Jackman and Furness, who had struggled with "resentment and an imbalance of power" towards the end of their marriage. </p> <p>The division of assets, including their properties in East Hampton, New York, Sydney, and Manhattan, is also complicated by the fact that they are "no longer friends". </p> <p>"Hugh and Deborra-Lee are cordial to each other, but they are no longer friends," the insider said.</p> <p>"They put their differences aside to co-parent and he cares a lot about is children."</p> <p>The insider clarified that there was no overlap with Jackman and Furness by the time he started dating Foster. </p> <p>Just a few days ago, Furness said that she was <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/lifestyle/relationships/deborra-lee-furness-reacts-to-hugh-jackman-s-new-relationship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">relieved </a>to see images of Jackman and Foster as it finally confirmed her "suspicions" that the pair would get together. </p> <p><em>Image: Guerin Charles/ABACA/ Shutterstock Editorial</em></p> <p> </p>

"New beginnings": Lisa Wilkinson's rumoured comeback

<p>Lisa Wilkinson reportedly has plans to launch a new career in 2025, over two years after her exit from<em> The Project</em> in November 2022.</p> <p>A close friend of the veteran TV presenter reportedly told<em> Woman's Day </em>magazine that Wilkinson is looking into the world of politics. </p> <p>"She's 65 and ready for a new challenge - to try her hand in politics. She's always had a keen interest in being on the front foot to her local community," the close friend reportedly said. </p> <p>"She may well just run for a seat in the upcoming election."</p> <p>A few days into the new year, Wilkinson shared a cryptic post to social media revealing that she was ready for "new beginnings". </p> <p>This comes after her contract with Channel 10 finally lapsed on New Year's eve. Rumours suggest that Wilkinson was on a salary of $1.7 million per year, and up until that point was still receiving a monthly cheque from the company. </p> <p>In the two years since vanishing from Aussie screens, Wilkinson has been trying to slowly build back her public image with quiet appearances at a handful of red carpet events.</p> <p>Her recent attendance at the launch of wellness brand Vegamour's new GRO+ Advanced Hair Serum at Bondi Icebergs, is Wilkinson's latest effort to "ease back into the Sydney social scene"  according to the <em>Daily Telegraph</em>.</p> <p>It follows rumours that the former TV host was keen to get back to delivering more "blockbuster interviews" in the New Year, according to a source in the<em> Weekend Australian.</em> </p> <p><em>Images: Instagram</em></p>

Home and Away couple silence break-up rumours with holiday photos

But that’s okay – we see each other all the time.”</p> <p>“Ada and I are so family-oriented,” James added in the interview. “She has this amazing Cypriot family, and they’re so well-connected. Fans threaten to boycott I'm A Celeb over casting rumour

<p><em>I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! </em>has teased the next season's cast on social media, but the potential appearance of a "headline-grabbing Olympian" has the rumour mill spinning. </p> <p>“A headline-grabbing Olympian has a ticket to the African wilds! 🎟️”, the show posted on Instagram. </p> <p>Hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris hinted that a "freestyle lover" will face the jungle in Season 7, set to air in January. </p> <p>While some followers posed a number of Olympians who they thought fit the mould, others speculated the possible TV return of the controversial breakdancer, Raygun, and many of them were quick to express their disdain. </p> <p>“Okay, I’m going to assume it’s Raygun,” one person said. “But other freestylers could include: Ariarne Titmus — Freestyle Swimming. Sally Fitzgibbons - Surfing. Broadway star files for divorce amid Hugh Jackman rumour

<p>Broadway star Sutton Foster has filed for divorce from her screenwriter husband, Ted Griffin, after ten years of marriage. </p> <p>The 49-year-old actress filed for uncontested divorce in New York County Supreme Court on Tuesday, according to <em>Page Six</em>. </p> <p>The pair got married in Santa Barbara in 2014, and adopted their daughter Emily three years later. </p> <p>Page Six reports that rumours about Foster's marriage being on the rocks began circulating in Broadway circles when she starred in The Music Man alongside Hugh Jackman. They also said that multiple sources have claimed the pair have fallen in love. </p> <p>“They are 100 per cent together and are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together,” a source previously told <em>Page Six</em>.</p> <p>The publication claims that their relationship is going strong, but they have been staying out of the public eye and keeping it under wraps. </p> <p>“They are still together,” a source told <em>Page Six</em>. </p> <p>“They go out of their way to hide it, but it’s common knowledge.”</p> <p>Jackman filed for divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness, after 27 years of marriage, in September 2023. </p> <p>Furness and Jackman released a joint statement at the time, saying: “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Kyle Sandilands reacts to Ozempic claims

<p dir="ltr">Kyle Sandilands has been forced to address rumours that he is taking Ozempic, after returning from the holiday break with a noticeably slimmed down figure. </p> <p dir="ltr">The radio host faced the accusations of taking the weight loss drug live on air on Thursday, after the mother of a staff member made the comments. </p> <p dir="ltr">Newsreader Brooklyn Ross told Kyle, “My mum asked me if you're on Ozempic, Kyle,” prompting a laugh from Sandilands.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Me? What have I done?" Kyle questioned, surprised as Jackie laughed, telling him it was his turn to be hit with the rumour.</p> <p dir="ltr">"You're losing weight, my mum thinks you're on Ozempic!" Brooklyn said.</p> <p dir="ltr">Showing a picture of the media personality looking very slimmed down just weeks apart, Kyle said, “It's just a good angle of me.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Further denying the rumours, he added, “Maybe I've stopped eating as much bread and drinking Coca Cola.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Co-host Jackie O quickly jumped to her colleague's defence, saying, “You always come back from the [Christmas] break a little bit skinnier because you've been healthier, by the sun, you're less into the twelve coffees.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Kyle interjected to share his wife’s impact on his weight loss saying, “And my wife - I go, ‘Can you bring me a chocolate paddle pop?’ and a salad shows up.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“And I get angry... but I just eat it anyway because it's been given to me.”</p> <p dir="ltr">"You do look good," Jackie told him. "Keep it going, get on the Ozempic!"</p> <p dir="ltr">"I don't care about being some thin flop!" Kyle hit back. </p> <p dir="ltr">Brooklyn also shared that his mum believed Jackie had been taking the weight loss drug, to which she responded, "I can't convince anyone, can I? Slimmed down Oprah addresses Ozempic rumours

Dave Hughes sets the record straight over famous Block house purchase

<p>Dave Hughes has hit back at long-standing rumours that he grossly overpaid for his house in Melbourne at <em>The Block</em> auctions. </p> <p>The radio host addressed the speculation on <em>2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin</em> breakfast show, as his co-host Erin Molan queried him about how the investment property was performing. </p> <p>In 2017, Hughesy bought the five-bedroom home in Elsternwick, built by contestants Josh and Elyse on Nine’s long-running reno show, for $3.067 million: a whopping $447,000 over the reserve. </p> <p>Given the steep increase of the price, the purchase of the house led to a lot of talk that Dave Hughes had overspent. </p> <p>Molan told her co-host on-air that a recent value estimate of the property that she’d found online put the home at $3.4 million.</p> <p>Six years on from his purchase and with inflation, stamp duty and other factors weighted, Hughes noted that that $300,000-odd increase in value would actually put him at a loss.</p> <p>However, Hughes said he had recently had the house valued himself, and the news was much better: He was told it is currently worth around $5 million.</p> <p>After the purchase of the house, even Hughes himself conceded that he may have spent much more than what the house was worth. </p> <p>In an interview with <em>Stellar</em> magazine in February 2018, he said that the bank had valued the property at “much less” than he paid.</p> <p>“I went to get a bank loan the other day and they haven’t valued it the same as I paid for it, which is fine, but annoying because there were five bidders,” he said.</p> <p>He said it was “enough less that it made me annoyed”.</p> <p>“For f**k’s sake … I just think it’s good value and in a few years’ time people are going to be going, ‘Well, f**k, didn’t he do well with it!’ I am playing the long game, all right? That is what I say to my wife, anyway.”</p> <p>In September of 2018, he told his then-co-host Kate Langbroek that he’d “copped so much flak” over the purchase.</p> <p>He said, “It was ridiculous and it’s gone on and on and on. A lot of experts weighed into my purchase … There are articles that have been written all year having a go at me. <p>Carrie Bickmore is rumoured to be the next host of the upcoming reboot of the iconic Aussie game show <em>Deal or No Deal. </em></p> <p>The former <em>The Project </em>anchor is the front-runner to host the series which is set to air on Channel 10 next year. </p> <p>It is understood that the network is desperate to get Bickmore onboard, but with fame comes a hefty price tag. </p> <p>“She’s one of the biggest stars in Australia and she comes with a very big price tag,” a source reportedly told <em>New Idea</em>, revealing that her current rate is believed to be over $500,000.</p> <p>“Deal or No Deal is currently lined up to air at 6pm as the lead-in to The Project - with hopes those eyeballs that tune in to the game show will stay on to watch Sarah Harris, Waleed Aly, and the gang,” the source added. </p> <p>“It’d be a win-win for the network, getting Carrie back on TV and hosting a show that could actually get people back into watching The Project - it’s sort of genius.”</p> <p>However, she isn't the only star the broadcaster have their eyes on. </p> <p>Peter Helliar is also rumoured to be part of the line up, with a much cheaper price tag. </p> <p><em>Deal or No Deal</em> first aired in 2003 on Channel 7, and had a ten-year run before the show was axed.</p> <p>Although there's no set date for the when the show will air just yet, they are looking for their next stars with <a href="https://eu.castitreach.com/ag/esgau/dond/welcome.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">casting calls</a> open for those over 18. </p> <p>Image: </p>

Prince Andrew “terrified” to leave Royal Lodge amid eviction rumours

<p dir="ltr">Prince Andrew is refusing to exit his royal residence as renovations are carried out on the Windsor property, despite advice to the contrary.</p> <p dir="ltr">According to <em>The Daily Mail</em>, the 63-year-old is putting his foot down over fears that he “might never get back in”, likely in response to circulating rumours that his brother - King Charles - wants to evict Andrew from the home as part of his grand plan to scale back the monarchy. </p> <p dir="ltr">While Andrew no longer holds any official royal duty after his involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, he still maintains his claim on the mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.</p> <p dir="ltr">And now, that same property is set to become “virtually a building site”, with Andrew having hired builders to undertake necessary repair work on the property, tackling everything from damp to mould. </p> <p dir="ltr">As a source told <em>Page Six</em>, Andrew was reportedly advised to vacate “while work was undertaken” over the course of a few months, “but he’s refused because he’s so terrified that the property might be seized in his absence.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In the meantime, Harry and Meghan vacated Frogmore after being told they needed to leave to make way for Andrew but he is refusing to go there, even though he was given the keys.</p> <p dir="ltr">“He’s allowing Eugenie to stay there. Sam Armytage hits back at “feud” rumours

<p dir="ltr">Samantha Armytage has responded to the clickbait articles claiming that there is a “feud” between her and former <em>Sunrise </em>co-host David Koch after her noticeable absence at his farewell lunch.</p> <p dir="ltr">The <em>Channel 7 </em>star took to Instagram to respond to a headline that originally ran in the <em>Daily Mail</em>, which read: “Sure there’s no feud? Samantha Armytage noticeably skips David Koch’s farewell lunch as the departing Sunrise host is joined by Natalie Barr, Mel Doyle and Larry Emdur for the star-studded send-off”.</p> <p dir="ltr">She posted a screenshot of the article which she called “nasty” and “wrong”.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Rich &amp; I had to attend a funeral yesterday after I appeared on Sunrise,” she explained, “I was invited to Kochie’s farewell lunch and had to politely decline.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“Usually, I ignore the Daily Mail nonsense, (&amp; I realise posting like this only gives them oxygen) but these multiple, daily attacks are absurd.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I could have told them my plans, if only they’d asked 🤪 (not that it’s any of their business!) then perhaps they wouldn’t have to make things up. Kochie addresses feud rumours with Sam Armytage

<p dir="ltr">David Koch has addressed the rumours of a falling out with his former <em>Sunrise</em> co-host, Sam Armytage for the first time.</p> <p dir="ltr">Kochie responded to the rumours while appearing as a guest on <em>The Kyle and Jackie O Show</em> on Wednesday morning, after the radio hosts grilled him about reports of their strained relationship.</p> <p dir="ltr">The rumours spread after Armytage left<em> Sunrise</em> in March 2021 and hosted a lavish farewell lunch with some of her co-workers, with Kochie notably absent.</p> <p dir="ltr">The next day he publicly claimed that he “didn’t know about it [happening].”</p> <p dir="ltr">But on Wednesday, Kochie told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O that he “didn’t think” he was on “bad terms” with Armytage.</p> <p dir="ltr">“No, I don’t think … We didn’t end on bad terms,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">When asked if Kochie had spoken to her ever since he evaded the question and answered with: “Don’t forget she very publicly said she wanted to get out of the media, and that scrutiny.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“She sent me a really nice note on the announcement. As did Mel,” he added, revealing the well-wishes from his former co-hosts.</p> <p dir="ltr">“I think I’m seeing Sam tonight at a function.
