Influencer's windscreen smashed in wild road rage act

Video footage has captured the scary moment a New Zealand influencer's windscreen got smashed in a wild road rage incident. Social media influencer Chantelle Baker claimed that the blue Mazda Demio had cut off another car behind her and began tailgating her when she was driving 40km/hr as she was carefully navigating a near-crash. “They started to scream at me from their car, trying to indicate [and] use their hands to tell me to pull over so they could go past,” she said in a video posted to Instagram. “I obviously didn’t. We go a few hundred metres and they decide to throw a rock at my car with my eight-month-old baby asleep in the back seat.” Baker said she saw them down a side road a couple of minutes later and followed their car to get the licence plate. She then recalled them pulling into an area near an old petrol station in Rangiora, Waimakariri, where the footage was filmed. In the viral clip, which has racked up over seven million views on TikTok, the two women can be seen exiting the Mazda and sprinting towards Baker's car. One of them ran up the bonnet and on to the windscreen causing it to shatter. The same woman then goes to the driver's door and tells Baker to "f*** off". Couple's heart-stopping moment as snake hitches ride on windscreen

A North Queensland couple has filmed the heart-stopping moment a large snake hitched a ride as they sped through a busy highway. Melissa Hudson and her partner Rodney Griggs were driving along the Bruce Highway when a 3m carpet snake slithered up the bonnet of the car and onto the windscreen. The video posted to social media shows the pair laughing hysterically as they desperately try to remove the slithering reptile. “What are we going to do Mel?,” Griggs is heard asking while driving. “Just keep driving, you concentrate on the road,” Hudson responded while laughing. “He can’t get in the f****** car can he?,” Griggs asks. “How are we going to get out?” They even turned on their wipers in an attempt to remove the serpent. In the end, they pulled over to the side of the highway where a brave traffic controller removed the snake with his hands.

Mother with blind child denied parking permit, receives abusive windscreen notes from angry parents

The mother of a blind girl in Townsville, Queensland says that she will continue to park in disabled spots despite being denied a permit and being yelled at by other parents. Taylor Blennerhassett’s six-year-old daughter Mackenna Murray is blind due to septo-optic dysplasia, which means that she has to use a cane to get around. Depsite her daughter’s severe condition, Taylor was denied a permit to use disabled parking spots in Queensland. Taylor told <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7578639/Townsville-mother-receives-abusive-notes-car-parking-disabled-spot-blind-daughter.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail Australia</a> that when picking her daughter up from school, she has been subjected to abuse in the form of notes from other parents left on her windscreen. “Mackenna is completely blind but we are unable to get a parking permit, so I arranged with the school to get permission to park in the disabled spots,” she explained. “I get messages that I'm not supposed to park there, it's rude of me to park there and I don't deserve to park there. “I've had people say I'm lazy and I'm taking spots away from families that actually need them.” Taylor said that as she often picks up Mackenna from school, she is subjected to at least one letter a week from angry parents. “It was quite hurtful considering no one left names or numbers for me to explain myself or the situation,” she said. “There's not much I can do about it as all I've been handed is a piece of paper.” As Taylor has worked out a solution with Mackenna’s school, the school ended up giving Taylor a laminated sign saying that she had formal permission to park in the disabled spots. School mum's fright as brown snake appears on windscreen

An Adelaide mother has had a near lethal run-in when she found a brown snake on her car while picking her kids up from school. It was during her after-school pick-up when the unwanted reptile made itself known with its body wrapped around the ute’s antenna on the roof. Alisha Chaffey, a South Adelaide mother, became irate when the uninvited passenger revealed itself while driving her kids to swimming lessons. "I saw this little head come down [the windscreen] and I just thought, 'What am I going to do?'" she said, <a href="https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-01-30/brown-snake-spotted-by-mother-on-ute-windscreen/10764912">reports ABC News.</a> "Once you're out of the township, the speed limit goes right up to 100 [kilometres per hour] and so I first thought if I can get out of town once I hit 100 [kph] it's going to go flying off." Desperate for help, Ms Chaffey returned to the school with her 18-month-old in tow. "I wasn't going to open any door or put my windows down or beep my horn. I didn't want to scare it," the mother explained. "I just waved my arms frantically until someone saw me looking crazy. The mother says coming from living on a farm in Darwin made her less scared of the snake on her windshield, explaining seeing the pictures freaked her out more. “With my little ones still in the car and the windows down, it could have been really, really scary.” Ange Broadstock, the Snake Catchers Adelaide manager, told ABC News snakes are not uncommon near that area. “In the last week or so, one of our crew had been down to Rapid Bay … and did a snake awareness session,” she said. “They have so many snake sightings around their school.” Snakes like the one Ms Chaffey ran into are not uncommon and should be removed with caution.

Sydney campervan owner discovers obscene note on windscreen

A campervan owner has engaged in a war of words with residents on a Sydney street, after one disgruntled local left an obscene note on the vehicle. Dannielle Miller posted a series of photographs to Twitter to document the exchange, with the caption, “This is peak Mosman”. The note that sparked the arguments reads: “Attention. Could you please move this piece of s*** off our road. Neighbours in parking feud swap passive aggressive windscreen notes

Two neighbours in London have been left in a parking feud, which was first started when a passive aggressive note was left on a car windscreen. The driver, who started the angry note exchange, became furious after noticing that his neighbour had parked over two spaces. "Your selfish inconsiderate parking is atrocious," he wrote on the note that was left on the windscreen. He also accused the owner of the car of “wasting space” by parking in the middle of two spots. However, when the car owner saw the note left on their vehicle, they didn’t take it very well and decided to fight back. The owner of the car penned their own passive aggressive note, which has since been shared on Reddit. "To whoever put the note here and the one before that, has it ever occurred to you that I might have parked very considerately behind a car in the only space provided and that subsequently the other cars moved away leaving my a car where it was?" the owner of the parked car wrote. "From now on, please take note: I always park as considerately as I am able to in the space there is. "Kindly stop putting passive aggressive notes on my car. "PS. If you had the courtesy to let me know which house you are in, I could have explained this in person." The owner also wanted to talk to the person face to face, to end the parking feud. "If you would like to have a civilised discussion about this instead of making me feel like I am being harassed by an unseen stranger, please drop by, or at least drop a note in my door letting me know which door I can post a response into, instead of making me feel like I have a primary school feud," he wrote. 3 ways to make your own windscreen washing fluid

If you want to cut down on the number of chemicals you buy, and save some money in the process, why not try making your own windscreen washing fluid? 1. Window cleaner Simply half fill the compartment in your car with water, then add ¼ cup of window cleaner, then fill up the rest of the compartment with more water to mix it together. 2. Dishwashing liquid Add a small squirt of dishwashing liquid while you are filling up the compartment. 3. White vinegar Another option is to add ½ cup white vinegar and a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to the compartment. Note: if you decide to make a large amount and store it, why not add a few drops of blue food colouring and clearly label the container so that you know what it is.
