Located in Kells, a small Irish town in the county of Meath, Headfort House is a boarding school that has a history dating back to the early 1770s.

This one of a kind property opens its doors to guests in between terms, giving visitors the chance to experience a property that’s recognised as a historically significant site by the World Monuments Fund. But just what makes Headfort House so special?
Well, part of it is the design. Headfort House features six state rooms which were designed by renowned Scottish architect Robert Adam, whose work had a profound influence on domestic architecture in the UK and Ireland in the eighteenth century.
And the immaculate grounds can’t be looked past either. With considerable facilities including a large sports fields, tennis courts, swimming pool, cricket creases, stables, squash court and a small theatre, at times you will feel as though you’re staying in a luxury manor rather than a traditional boarding school.
Meath is an incredible part of the world to visit, characterised by its friendly locals, intriguing historic sites and immense, yawning views that typify Irish landscape.
