Newly-discovered Mark Twain book published after 120 years

It’s been over a century since iconic American author Mark Twain passed away, but a whole new generation is set to discover the magic and power of his words. Six years after scholar John Bird rediscovered 16 pages of an unfinished manuscript, handwritten by Twain in 1897, the complete book has finally been released.

Titled The Purloining of Prince Oleomargarine, the book (which was finished by children’s author Philip Stead and illustrated by his wife, Erin Stead) actually began as a bedtime story Twain used to tell his young daughters.

It tells the tale of a poor young boy named Johnny who finds himself in possession of some magical seeds which allow him to talk to animals, sending him on a noble quest to rescue a missing prince.
