“Thanks for ruining my chances”: The Block’s Elyse Knowles slams New Idea
After winning this year’s series of The Block, Josh Barker and Elyse Knowles have become unwitting fodder for gossip mags, and it seems Elyse has finally had enough.
The 25-year-old model has slammed New Idea after it published an article under the headline “Josh & Elyse’s surprise wedding”, claiming that “sources close to the couple” revealed they would be engaged by the end of the year.
“We wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an announcement in the next few weeks,” the sources reportedly told the mag.
“I know Josh has been talking a lot about popping the question and making it all official. He loves Elyse to bits and knows she’s The One – it’s just a matter of taking the next very big step. And it sounds like they’re finally ready to do it.”
But Knowles wasn’t having a bar of it. “Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Definitely wrong!” she can be heard yelling in a video posted to Instagram.
She even joked that the article might be enough to scare her boyfriend of four-and-a-half years off actually popping the question. “Thanks for ruining my chances, douchebags!”
After selling their The Block home to comedian Dave Hughes for $3.067 million, Josh and Elyse sold their own home last month in Melbourne’s Coburg for $1.631 million.
