7 children who followed in the footsteps of their actor parents
These days you’d be hard-pressed to find someone in Hollywood who isn’t related to entertainment royalty. We all know Angelina Jolie is the daughter of Oscar winner Jon Voigt and that Michael Douglas is the son of Kirk, but did you know there’s a new batch of young ones keeping the family going in the film business?
Scott Eastwood
30-year-old Scott is the spitting image of his father Clint, inheriting his good looks and acting talent. The actor and model has appeared in many films directed by his father, including Gran Torino and Invictus as well as other films like 2014’s Fury.
Eva Amurri
Eva, 31, is the daughter of director Franco Amurri and Susan Sarandon. While she hasn’t had quite as much luck in films, Amurri has had a successful TV career since 2009, landing roles in TV shows including Californication, House and The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.
Colin Hanks
Son of Tom Hanks and first wife Samantha Lewes, 38-year-old Colin has had a successful career in television. Known for roles in Dexter and Fargo, he has also appeared in the 2005 film King Kong and has tried his hand at documentary directing.
Dakota Johnson
The 26-year-old is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson and has definitely taken after the former couple in the talent department. After appearances in The Social Network, 21 Jump Street and Need for Speed, her breakout role was in the 2015 film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Jaden Smith
Both children of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are successes in their own right, but 17-year-old Jaden in particular has had a varied and at times unusual career. The actor, rapper and fashion designer has starred in films such as The Pursuit of Happyness and The Karate Kid.
Oona Chaplin
Granddaughter of the iconic Charlie Chaplin and daughter of Doctor Zhivago actress Geraldine Chaplin, 29-year-old Oona is continuing the family business with an acting career of her own. Best known for her role in Game of Thrones, she has also appeared in the BBC series Sherlock.
Patrick Schwarzenegger
Son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Patrick was always destined for big things in the entertainment industry. The 22-year-old model, actor and philanthropist is still kicking off his acting career, with two projects (Midnight Sun and North) due later this year.
