Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds has died aged 82
Burt Reynolds, the actor who defined '70s machismo on the big screen, has died. He was 82.
According to reports, the star of Smokey and the Bandit, Deliverance and Boogie Nights was recovering from a short illness in hospital when he suffered a heart attack.
Reynolds died at the Jupiter Medical Center in Florida, his manager told The Hollywood Reporter.
He was the top-grossing star in Hollywood every year from 1978, when he had four movies playing in cinemas at once, through to 1982.
Reynolds was nominated for an Oscar for his role as a porn director in the 1997 movie, Boogie Nights.
However, according to Hollywood legend, when he watched himself in the film for the first time, he fired his agent, as he was so unhappy.
