The internet is baffled by who this star is – do you know?
A star has appeared on the September cover of InStyle magazine, but fans have criticised the photoshoot for making her almost unrecognisable.
Despite working in the film and TV industry since the '70s, fans had a hard time identifying the 61-year-old actress.
Do you recognise who it is?
The actress appearing in this shoot is none other than Working Girl star Melanie Griffith.
The photoshoot, where Griffith dons a black dress with a plunging neckline, has been slammed by fans for the heavy use of editing.
“Unrecognisable. Poor thing,” one wrote.
“Um who is this person??” asked another.
Another added: “Celebrating the same destructive message … ageing is bad. Of course she looks beautiful, but who is she? She’s certainly not Melanie anymore.”
Some were confused if the obvious changes to her appearance were the result of plastic surgery or the use of Photoshop.
“This is simply outrageous how much Photoshop was used. Is there something wrong with looking older? Who will believe that her boobs and neckline look like she’s 20? A horrible thing,” a user responded to InStyle’s post.
“There’s a lot of Photoshop happening in there! To compensate all the botox?” someone else wrote.
In an interview with InStyle, Griffith shared how the movie industry changes for actresses as they get older.
"It's a different deal when you're older," she said.
"And we're old. I don't mean it badly, and I don't mean it like, 'Oh, poor me,' or anything like that. It's just a different deal when you're an older person. It's different from being the hot stuff to being the old hot stuff."
She revealed that she is planning on pursuing theatre work to avoid the cameras.
"That's my dream. I think that theatre is kinder on a 60-year-old face," she said.
The star admitted to having plastic surgery 20 years ago, but tried to reverse the work after she received online criticism.
“No, I didn’t [realise] until people started saying, ‘Oh my God, what has she done?!’ I was so hurt,” she told Porter magazine in 2017.
“I went to a different doctor, and he started dissolving all of this s*** that this other woman doctor had put in.
“Hopefully, I look more normal now.”
