5 great ways your camera phones can help you remember and keep you organised

The introduction of the smartphone to our lives means taking a photo is easier than ever. There’s no need to count film or fret over the cost of development. But while we could happily snap away a whole album-full of pictures of our darling grandkids, here are a number of other ways our smartphones cameras can help us.

Don’t forget where you parked

If you have trouble remembering where you parked in the carpark maze of a shopping centre, sports stadium or airport, snap a picture of your car’s location before you walk away. Make sure you include the parking space number or the level and location you’re in.

Keep a visual list

Ever been out and about and seen something that you wanted to learn more about but don’t have the time to look it up right then and there? Take a quick picture of it to remind you later. It could be a recipe you saw while you were flipping through a magazine at the doctor’s office or craft patterns you saw online.

A place to keep critical documents

It’s a good idea before you travel to snap photos of your driver’s licence, passport, hotel bookings and other important documents so you have a few copies of them. Just remember to put a password setting on the photos!

Remembering where to go

We can’t always rely on having internet connection for our GPS so a smart idea is to take some screenshots of your route and the list of directions. Your images will then be saved to your photo gallery so if you end up travelling through an area where there’s no service, you’ll still have direction on hand without having to access your map app.

Stop the paper clutter

Whether it’s instructions to products, business cards you don’t want to misplace or information on handouts and flyers you want keep, take a photo of it to keep in your photo album. It will stop all the paper cluttering your house!
