Facebook’s new feature that takes you down memory lane

Facebook has launched a new feature called “On This Day” to help its users take a trip down memory lane.

As the name suggests, “On This Day” shows posts, status updates, photos and anything you’ve shared or been tagged on the same date from a year ago, two years ago, and so on. Only you can see your “On This Day” page but you can share them with your Facebook friends if you choose.

While the feature is meant to inspire a fun and feel-good nostalgia, be warned that you may not enjoy your past memories, especially if they were ones you were hoping to forget about.

How to find it?

If you’ve seen an old post greeting you on your news feed recently it’s the “On This Day” feature! Otherwise, you can find “On This Day” on the bookmarks under “Apps” on the side of your Facebook main page or you can visit www.facebook.com/onthisday. Once on the page, you can choose to subscribe to notifications so you’ll be alerted when you have memories to look back on, as well as edit and delete old posts, or decide to share your memories with friends.
