Lisa Wilkinson's big night out after Channel 10 cancels Christmas bash
Lisa Wilkinson has celebrated her exit from The Project at a boozy Christmas party with her colleagues.
The 62-year-old presenter partied the night away with Peter Helliar and Waleed Aly, as they drank margaritas and celebrated the festive season.
Lisa shared some snaps of the evening on her Instagram page, writing, "That’s a Christmas wrap for The Project…and a fond farewell to five fabulous years for me. 👋🥰"
"(And yes those are margaritas…and no, this time I’m not drinking alone - swipe left and you’ll see why🥂😂)."
Lisa has a margarita bar at the party dedicated to her, in reference to when she was spotted sipping on a margarita while dining out alone back in March.
The Project Christmas party was a welcome surprise for the cast and crew of the show, as just days prior, Channel 10 announced it had cancelled its staff Christmas party following a disastrous year of poor ratings, high-profile resignations and cancelled shows.
According to an insider, things are "worse than imagined" as the network fiercely battles it out with rival stations in a desperate bid to attract advertising dollars.
Staff were left devastated when owner Paramount announced there will be no Christmas celebrations at the last hour.
