Meghan and Harry's tell-all Oprah interview under fire
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced that they're expecting a brother or sister for Archie and are planning on sitting down with Oprah for an exclusive "tell-all" interview.
Despite some royal fans eager for the interview, others have pointed out the hypocrisy of the couple leaving the royal family after demanding privacy and then doing an interview with one of the world's most popular talk show hosts.
This includes the panellists on The Project, which were Tommy Little, Carrie Bickmore and Steve Price.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on a roll! Just a day after their baby news broke. It’s been revealed Harry and Meghan will sit down for a 90-minute chat with Oprah, next month,” Carrie began. “It’ll be their first interview since quitting royal life. That decision is just one of the topics Oprah will discuss with Meghan. Harry’s expected to chime in at the end.”
“It will be a long 90 minutes,” Steve joked.
Tommy quickly fired back: “You know your career is on the rocks when people who are trying to hide from the public go on your show!”
Carrie agreed: “She is getting a lot of heat today because they fled the UK because they want privacy and now they want a tell-all. Can you say I still want to share parts of our life with the media?”
CBS have said that the interview will be broadcast on the 7th of March.
"Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work... to how she is handling life under intense public pressure," CBS said in a statement.
"Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family."
