“Not much left for her”: Johanna Griggs’ future at Seven uncertain

Following her departure from House Rules, Johanna Griggs’ future at Seven remains to be seen, a network insider has claimed.

The source told Now to Love that Griggs, who is set to take part in Channel Seven’s upcoming 2020 Summer Olympics coverage, may take a back seat to Abbey Gelmi, the network’s cricket and horseracing presenter and new House Rules co-host.

Joh is realistic and knows there is not much at Seven left for her, except for Better Homes And Gardens and sport,” said the insider.

“She will be taking an active role in the upcoming Olympics 2020 Tokyo coverage – at this point she’s looking at co-hosting alongside Hamish McLachlan and Jim Wilson, but her role isn’t a given.

“Joh is well aware that if Abbey proves to be a winner on House Rules, they may put her upfront for the Olympics – it’s no secret that network bosses are grooming her to be the next Joh Griggs.”

In July, Griggs announced her exit from the renovation show. “As the show goes into preproduction for the next season, it’s the perfect time to hand over the role to someone who will take the show into S8,” she wrote on Instagram.

Last month, it was announced that Jamie Durie would return as host at the program alongside Gelmi. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Kyly Clarke and Saul Myers also join the line-up as judges.
