TV characters killed off too soon
When these beloved characters died on our favourite shows, fans’ hearts around the world tore in two.
1. Matthew Crawley – Downton Abbey
After the death of Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey, thousands of fans complained about his shock departure from the show. The character, played by Dan Stevens, died in a car accident just days after his son was born.
2. Molly Jones – A Country Practice
Despite it being over 30 years since Molly’s tragic death from leukemia, this character’s story still breaks our hearts. The unforgettable scene faded to black as Brendan ran towards her calling her name.
3. Patrick Reid – Offspring
The death of Patrick in season 4 of Offspring caught all fans by surprise. He was involved in a minor accident and then suddenly, the heavily pregnant Nina watched him slip away.
4. Dr Lawrence Kutner – House
In season four of House, Dr Lawrence Kutner was added to the diagnostic team and helped House with his medical mysteries. The character died by suicide in season 5, episode 20 and the motivation behind his death was one mystery House could never solve.
