Nanny caught stealing 68 punnets of tomatoes from Coles
A woman has been caught red-handed stealing 68 punnets of cherry tomatoes from a Coles outlet in Brisbane after thinking they were “too expensive”.
European nanny Karina Banks stole the products over several months after instructions from her doctor to include more fresh vegetables in her diet.
Ms Banks, who is a diabetic, told Brisbane Court that she had become a thief for health reasons and believed the punnet which retailed at $3.90, cost too much.

For her efforts, Ms Banks was given a three-month good behaviour bond and told she must repay Coles $261 for the stolen tomatoes.
What do you think? Does the punishment fit the crime?
