Readers response: What was/is your biggest waste of money?

As the cost of living continues to take hold on people's everyday spending, we find ourselves being more careful pinching our pennies.

However, despite our efforts, sometimes it's hard to not feel like you're wasting your cash.

We asked our readers what was, or is, their biggest waste of money, and the response was overwhelming. Here's what they said.

Billy Smooth - Rent and insurance.

Felicity Jill Murphy - Many meals that I could not get through.

Barry Lenny - Rates and taxes. I get bugger all for the enormous amounts of money I have to pay.

Norbert Kratz - Lottery tickets.

Sue Meers - The monthly fee for living in a retirement village.

Magda Klopper - Craft stuff and clothes I did not wear.

Gaynor Hall - Alcohol! Going to stop buying it now.

Paula Fortune - Use to be smokes up until I finally quit for good in January 2005! Good thing I did considering how expensive they are now.

Sue Brown Leete - A speeding fine I just got.

Sandii Smith - Too many things to mention.
