"I've had enough": Karl hits back at "fat-shaming" Bluey detractors

Karl Stefanovic has called out the influencers claiming that the one of latest Bluey episodes titled “Exercise” is ‘fatphobic’.

The episode addresses the challenges parents face around exercise and taking care of themselves around work and their kid.

In one scene, parents Bandit and Chili were seen weighing themselves, followed by Bandit saying "Aw man," before touching his stomach.

Some parents and influencers were offended at this scene and accused the show of body shaming, which led to Stefanovic’s defence that it was an accurate depiction of something that could play out in an Aussie household.

"Can you believe this, I think that is just fantastic, I mean, it is a bit of Australiana," the Today host said.

"It plays out in households across Australia and all of these influencers are coming out now going, 'Oh, Bluey is fat-shaming, it's disgusting', give it a rest! Come on!"

Stefanovic added that it was “a really good message”.

"I've had enough of these influencers,” he said, to which co-host Sarah Abo agreed.

Abo also added that the scene is something that happens in every bathroom across Australia.

"You can't say anything or do anything any more," she added.
