Simone Callahan reflects on marriage to Shane Warne: “I didn’t really enjoy that time”
Simone Callahan has opened up about her 10-year marriage to Shane Warne, with the famed cricketer's ex-wife revealing she “didn't really enjoy that time in the spotlight”.
Speaking to A Current Affair on Monday night, she revealed: “The person I wanted to be was suppressed a little bit, through everything that happened.”
She added: "I tend to shy away from all of it.”
Describing herself as "more introverted than extroverted", the 48-year-old said she never liked the attention that came with being one half of Australia's most famous couple, particularly after Warne’s high-profile string of affairs.
But the mum-of-three says that part of life is all behind her now, and that yoga has helped her become the happiest she's ever been.
“I just used to see yogis and see pictures and thought they looked so peaceful and calm, and I wanted to feel that way," she told A Current Affair. "It's been very good for me, for calming myself."
Callahan has quickly amassed thousands of fans from around the world on her Instagram, with many impressed with her daily motivational yoga videos.
"I've been surprised by the feedback that I have had on Instagram," she said. "It's a really good tool with connecting with people."
The former WAG, who is now a Melbourne yoga teacher, credits the discipline for helping her overcome the pain of her divorce.
"It definitely brings happiness, because you're aligning the mind with the body and everything is working as it should be, it gives you a sense of calmness,” she said.
