What Goldie Hawn eats to look as good as her daughter
At 71 years of age, Goldie Hawn is as fit and healthy as she’s ever been. In fact, she could pass as her just-as-famous daughter Kate Hudson’s sister. Hawn and Hudson are the perfect examples of the phrase, "like mother, like daughter." Both love health and wellness, and it sure shows! Hudson has spoken in the past about getting her health and fitness tips from her mum, so we thought we’d have a look at what healthy eating habits Hawn could teach us. They sound like lessons we could all follow.
She starts her day off with green juice
"I drink my green juice every day," Hawn told People. She loves the juices (made with celery, kale, parsley, and green capsicum) for breakfast and as a snack.
She makes sure her meals have plenty of green
Hawn told Self in 2011 that her go-to meals for lunch is a green salad with broccolini. For idnner, she likes to make a green watercress soup and green beans with fish.
She eats healthy snacks
Hawn doesn’t snack on junk food when she’s craving something between meals. Instead she enjoys healthy snacks of kale chips or almond butter crackers, and drinks coconut water.
She only eats what she needs
The actress stays in great shape because she only eats as much as she needs to feel satisfied.
"I think we overeat," Hawn told People. "I do a lot of juicing, I don't put a lot of food in my stomach and I don't mix my foods too much," Hawn told People. "So if I want to have like protein I'll just eat a bowl of lentils, I won't mix it with a bunch of stuff."
She enjoys her food
While Hawn is a health nut, she still knows the important of enjoying her food.
Daughter Kate Hudson revealed that her mum taught her the importance of a delicious Sunday dinner, which Hawn often cooked herself.
"Mum went to India a lot in the seventies, so she made curries and dal. She cooks Southern food too — her dad was from Arkansas. She makes a mean biscuits and gravy and chicken and dumplings," Hudson told Shape. "My mum has always been healthy, but she's not a health nut. I'm the same way. I absolutely believe in enjoying my food."
