Four people found dead in Melbourne home

Four people have been found dead in a house in Melbourne's north after emergency services were called to a house in Broadmeadows around 2am on Tuesday.

Two men, a woman, aged up to 40 years old, and a 17-year-old teenage boy were found dead inside the property.

Speaking candidly on the Today show, Corey, who is the uncle of the teenager, said he went to visit the home in the early hours of Tuesday, and saw his nephew on the ground.

Corey then explained how he smashed the windows to their unit to gain access, where he discovered the bodies.

“I’ve come home to find family members in the house deceased and it just tortured me, shocked me,” said Corey.

“It’s really, really got to me.”

Speaking to Sunrise, he shared his love for his young nephew.

“He’s my nephew. He looks up to his uncle. Me being there is ultimately the best thing, you know, I’ve come home to find him gone. He was a kid. 17 years old. I wouldn’t know what’s caused this,” he said.

While Corey believes the family died of a drug overdose, police have not confirmed this and say they are still investigating.

A police spokesperson said in a statement: “The cause of the deaths is yet to be determined but at this stage not believed to be suspicious”.
