Hollywood legend dies at age 93
Hollywood acting legend James Earl Jones has died at the age of 93.
Deadline revealed that the actor passed away at his home in Dutchess County, New York, although no cause of death has yet been given.
Jones was responsible for some of the most memorable roles in modern cinema history, lending his voice to iconic characters including Star Wars’ Darth Vader and The Lion King’s Mufasa.
After making his big screen debut in the 1964 film Dr Strangelove, he went on to rack up hundreds of roles and didn't stop working until 2021, with his latest project being in the Eddie Murphy sequel, Coming 2 America.
Jones' most notable roles came in films such as the original Coming To America, Field of Dreams and The Hunt for Red October, making him a household name in the movie industry.
Throughout his career, Earl Jones won three Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, and was also inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 1985.
He went on to receive an honorary Academy Award in 2011, as well as a special Tony for lifetime achievement in 2017.
