Stephen Hawkings generous final gift
Stephen Hawking will always be remembered for his scientific achievements, but one aspect of his life that sometimes is forgotten is the scientist’s generosity.
News.com.au reports the professor paid for 40 homeless people to enjoy an Easter feast as his final gift from the grave.
FoodCycle Cambridge tweeted their thanks saying they were “so grateful” for the, “generous donation so we could give our guests an extra special Easter meal yesterday”.
They added: “We had a little cheer in honour of Stephen Hawking before tucking in.”
Alex Collis, East of England Regional Manager for the charity, added: “Lucy Hawking contacted me and mentioned that the family would like to make a donation so that while the funeral was taking place people would be sitting down to a hot meal ‘on Stephen’.

“It was a really kind gesture that I think fitted well with the sympathy Prof Hawking felt for people who were having a tough time of things.”
