5-year-old boy punched in the face while walking with grandmother
Police are on a manhunt for a man who is accused of punching a five-year-old boy in the face while walking through inner-city Sydney on Tuesday.
The boy and his nine-year-old brother were holding hands with their grandmother as they walked along Bridge Street towards Ross Street at Glebe about 4.20pm.
It was then when a man walked towards the trio and punched the child in the face as he walked past.
The man continued walking east towards Bridge Road and did not stop as the boy fell to the ground in pain.
The grandmother helped the boy, who had suffered bruising to his chin, and his brother home before she contacted police to file a report.
Officers say the man has a dark complexion, is about 170cm tall and has a thin build. He has a long face with a dark beard and short dark hair.
He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper, dark long pants and joggers at the time of the punch.
Police are urging anyone with any information or who has dashcam footage of the incident, to contact Leichardt Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
