Alec Baldwin's daughter posts touching message of support

Ireland Baldwin, the 26-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, shared a strong message of support for her father following his involvement in the on-set death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last week.

Hutchins was fatally shot and killed in an accident on the set of the movie Rust, and while not all details have been made public and authorities have not brought any charges against anyone present at the time of the accident, people, including Donald Trump Jr, have been quick to blame Baldwin for Hutchins’ death.

Baldwin’s eldest daughter took to Instagram to respond to those who were quick to condemn her father, sharing a screenshot of a heartwarming anecdote someone had shared about her father. Tracey Nolan wrote that while working in a production office in Toronto, she’d “dealt with typing up some pretty goofy celebrity riders in my day but NOT your dad’s.

“He only wanted to make sure he had milk and cereal in his hotel room for when his daughter was visiting. That was it. That was the whole rider. I’ll always remember that.” Baldwin was working on the Thomas the Tank Engine movie Thomas and the Magic Railroad at the time.

Ireland’s own caption beneath reads, “Amongst some of the most abhorrent and threatening comments, emails, text messages, and voicemails I’ve been getting... this beautiful comment stands alone. I know my dad, you simply don’t. I love you, Dad ❤️”

While nobody has been charged, authorities have not ruled out the possibility. Soon after news of the accident broke, Baldwin tweeted, “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I'm fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”
