Lauren Newton and her husband, Matt Welsh, have welcomed their sixth child, which is a sixth grandchild for Bert and Patti Newton.

The new bub arrived seven weeks early and despite some complications, both mum and baby are safe.

Lauren, 40, shared a snap of her husband and their newborn baby boy, revealing his name.

"Alby James Newton Welsh Born at 8:20 on 20/8/2020," she penned in the caption.

"We are so grateful to the amazing @dr_stephencole and the wonderful team at @frances_perry_house. It has been a long journey and we are so thrilled to have gorgeous Alby here safely. He is 7 weeks early but doing really well."

Grandmother Patti couldn't contain her excitement when Lauren announced that she was having a baby boy.

"Another beautiful baby to love," she wrote on Instagram.

"So lucky this baby is having No 6. In these sad and difficult times,wonderful to have such joy to look forward to. The best parents,and the most fabulous children, we miss you so much our love Nana and Poppy."

She also posted a very sweet photo of Alby.

"Little Alby James we have all fallen in love with you. Congratulations Matt and Lauren can’t wait to hold him," she wrote.
