"It just got real": Bindi Irwin's cheeky swipe at brother
On Monday, Robert was announced as one of the front runners for a Gold Logie, for his co-host role on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! making him the youngest male ever to be nominated for the prestigious award.
Even though he may be the future golden boy of television, for Bindi, he will always be her younger brother who she is not afraid to tease.
Bindi took to Instagram to share a cheeky throwback post of her clutching her own Silver Logie in 2008, for Most Popular New Female Talent for her work in Bindi the Jungle Girl.
“Hey Australia, vote for my awesome brother so he can catch up to me 16 years later …” she captioned the post.
"At least mine's gold," Robert teased, to which Bindi replied "You haven't won it yet..." alongside a laughing emoji.
“Well actually, I did get nominated for 2 Logies. Hahahaha soooo…”, Robert quipped.
“Sorry, I can’t hear you over my Emmy award …” Bindi replied, referring to her win for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series when she was just nine-years-old.
After the entertaining sibling rivalry, Robert shared a screenshot of their banter to his Instagram stories, and used it as an opportunity to remind fans to vote for him.
“Ok uh … really gonna need that Logies vote now guys, it just got real,” he wrote.
Robert was also nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, with the winners of this year's Logies being announced on August 18.
