Popular Bachelor couple share joyous news after heartbreak
Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska, the beloved Bachelor couple, are back in the spotlight with some major news, less than a year after their surprise wedding.
The reality TV stars, whose love story began on Ten's matchmaking series in 2020, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming announcement – they are expecting a baby.
In a touching video clip, Locky, at the age of 30, stands on a picturesque beach, donned in all-white attire. He steps aside, revealing his wife Irena, who is proudly showcasing her baby bump in a colour-coordinated bikini. The couple shares a sweet embrace, sealing the moment with kisses, all set to the backdrop of Guns N' Roses' iconic rock anthem, "Sweet Child O' Mine."
In her caption, Irena expressed their excitement, saying, "2023 has been a year of surprises, and now Locky and I are thrilled to share the biggest surprise of our lives – anticipating a new member in our family."
She also showed empathy for those grappling with fertility challenges or loss, drawing from their personal experiences. "Having navigated the rollercoaster of emotions ourselves, we extend our hands and hearts to those on a similar path. In the midst of life's storms, may you find your rainbow soon. Due early 2024."
This joyous revelation follows Locky and Irena's intimate wedding ceremony in Melbourne earlier this year, which took everyone by surprise. The couple has been candid about their fertility struggles, revealing that they endured two heartbreaking miscarriages over a span of two years.
Irena shared, "During our first few months together, I, unfortunately, suffered a miscarriage. But Locky was my absolute rock, and having his support made me love him even more."
Locky, who expressed his excitement about becoming a father shortly after their wedding in March, shared his vision for their future family adventures. "I'm super excited to become a dad, but also scared," he admitted. "I can't wait for us to do all the family stuff, and from day one, our child will be strapped to a baby carrier, and we'll be out hiking and camping. That's the plan, anyway!"
